Mother of slain soldier decries 'military and governmental fascism'Fresh from a visit to hurricane-ravaged Louisiana, anti-Bush activist Cindy Sheehan is demanding the U.S. military be removed from "occupied New Orleans." In a dispatch on leftist filmmaker Michael Moore's website, Sheehan said she was troubled by the "level of the military presence" in the Gulf Coast state. "George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self from power," she said. "The only way America will become more secure is if we...

I just spoke with Senator Chuck Hagel’s Communications Director Mike Buttry. There have been two recent rumors swirling about Senator Hagel. The first rumor I reported on The Buzz last week that Hagel was planning to leave the Republican Party to run as an independent candidate for president in 2008. Buttry told me, “That’s not happening. Absolutely not.” The second rumor comes from Cindy Sheehan herself. Sheehan made a claim that amongst others, Senator Hagel had called her to express his “support and love” for her protest of the war and President Bush. I asked Buttry if this was true...

Madrid, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) "My son Casey was killed by Bush and his insane, cruel and arrogant foreign policy", denounced Cindy Sheehan, a brave mother who does not forgive The US President for causing a war based on lies. Sheehan, a symbol of the current anti warmongering, gave a heartbreaking interview Tuesday to a journalist from the Spanish newspaper El Pais, in which she warns the president he is not listening to those opposing the war against Iraq.

In Mother Sheehan's latest diatribe, she blames Bush for hurricane Katrina and calls her opponents Nazis. And then she gets crazy: It Was the Oil, Stupid By Cindy Sheehan Day 25 The Peaceful Occupation of Crawford"If Zarqawi and bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks," Bush said. "They'd seize oil fields to fund their ambitions. They could recruit more terrorists by claiming a historic victory over the United States and our coalition."(George Bush, August 30, 2005 in San Diego.)So it is official, Casey had his blood shed in Iraq for...

Rush transcript of NPR's Neil Conan, speaking by phone with Cindy Sheehan: NC: Very nice of you to be with us today. CS: [cheerfully] Oh, thank youuu! NC: I know that you were, uh, out in California last week because your mother was ill. How’s she doing? CS: Um, she’s doing better. They’re trying to keep her from having another stroke. And if she doesn’t have another stroke, she should be able to recover. NC: That’s good news. Now, tell us, a little bit about your son, Casey. CS: My son Casey was an amazing human being. He was gentle,...

Cindy Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq, and who's been intermittently camped outside President Bush's ranch in Texas demanding to meet with him for a second time, has been hailed as the public face of the antiwar movement. Maureen Dowd of the New York Times has declared that Sheehan's moral authority is "absolute." So in the interest of more fully tapping that moral authority, here's a collection of Sheehan quotes: "Thank God for the Internet, or we wouldn't know anything, and we would already be a fascist state." "Our government is run by one party, every level, and...

One caravan called “You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy” is expected to arrive in Crawford by Saturday afternoon after spending the past week snaking through the Southwest from California. Supporters of the president and the Iraq war also are holding separate rallies in downtown Crawford and across from the original Camp Casey, located on a right-of-way on Prairie Chapel Road about four miles from Crawford. Organizers of the pro-Bush, pro-Iraq war events say that military families and families who have lost relatives in the Iraq war will attend Saturday's events. Kristinn Taylor, spokesman for FreeRepublic.com, a conservative Web site helping...

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan is now "channeling" her slain son, Casey, from heaven, suggesting he's calling President Bush "an idiot," and she claims to have "tens of thousands of angels" supporting her cause to bring U.S. troops home immediately. "When I get up [to heaven], he's gonna say, 'Good job, mom,'" Mrs. Sheehan said in a speech last night upon her return to Crawford, Texas. "He's not going to say, 'Why'd you make me spin in my grave?' you know. And I can just hear him saying, 'George Bush, you are really an idiot. You didn't know what you were...

CRAWFORD, Texas - Even when she was in California taking care of her mother, Cindy Sheehan said part of her remained at the protest campsite she had set up outside President Bush's ranch. On Wednesday, Sheehan returned to "Camp Casey," named after her 24-year-old son, Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, who was killed last year in Iraq. "This is where I belong, until Aug. 31, like I told the president," Sheehan said at the Waco airport before driving about 20 miles to the Crawford site. When Sheehan arrived at the campsite, she saw a large banner depicting her son's face. She...
