A New York Times columnist has come under fire after retweeting a controversial message that referred to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the National Rifle Association (NRA) as “the 2 most pig like lobbies” in America. According to Adam Kredo of The Washington Free Beacon, Columnist Nicholas Kristof on Wednesday afternoon retweeted the message written by longtime Israel critic M.J. Rosenberg, which recalled the recently unearthed statements by Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi that referred to Jews as “pigs.” “OBAMA told the 2 most pig like lobbies, AIPAC & NRA, to drop dead in same month. Next: Chamber...

Media Matters for America is linked with Al-Jazeera, the anti-American and anti-Israeli cable news channel, The Daily Caller has learned. Media Matters Action Network senior foreign policy fellow MJ Rosenberg’s column for the liberal organization regularly appears on Al-Jazeera’s website and, in 2010, Rosenberg represented Media Matters at a forum hosted by Al-Jazeera in Doha, Qatar where he praised the news outlet as “mainstream.” Media Matters Action Network is part of the organization’s political arm. According to two Daily Caller sources, the then-director general of Al-Jazeera Wadah Khanfar, also visited Media Matters’ offices in Washington in 2010

President Barack Obama is in danger of going down in history as “the Neville Chamberlain of the 21st century,” if he fails to stop Iran’s development of the nuclear bomb, Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz tells Newsmax.TV. “I know Obama, I like Obama, I voted for Obama,” Dershowitz said in the exclusive interview. “I hope he is not remembered in history as the Neville Chamberlain of the 21st century, the person who didn‘t see the greatest evil, didn’t recognize the greatest evil of the 20th century, as Chamberlain did not.” Chamberlain was the British Prime minister who signed the 1938...

Two of the Democratic Party’s core institutions are challenging a bipartisan consensus on Israel and Palestine that has dominated American foreign policy for more than a decade. The Center for American Progress, the party’s key hub of ideas and strategy, and Media Matters, a central messaging organization, have emerged as vocal critics of their party’s staunchly pro-Israel congressional leadership and have been at odds, at times, with Barack Obama’s White House, which has acted as a reluctant ally to Benjamin Netanyahu’s Israeli government. The differences are ones of tone – but also of bright lines of principle – and while...
  • Media Matters Honcho Attacks Israel, AIPAC: Calls Netanyahu ‘Terrorist’

Media Matters Senior Foreign Policy Fellow MJ Rosenberg unleashed a stream of anti-Israel vitriol today, calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “terrorist” and accusing pro-Israel activists of being un-American. As Netanyahu gave a stern but statesmanlike response to President Barack Obama’s speech yesterday, Rosenberg could not restrain his hatred. It was the latest, and the worst, anti-Israel attack by Media Matters’s foreign affairs head. He also attacked the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the large pro-Israel lobby organization whose annual Policy Conference begins this weekend, accusing it of disloyalty

Today I joined a pretty exclusive club; a Yidwithlid story was attacked by MJ Rosenberg of TMPcafe. I never heard of MJ Rosenberg until almost two weeks ago when I started writing/investigating President Obama’s selection of NIC Chairman, Chas Freeman. Over the past week or so Rosenberg has gone after everyone who objected to the Freeman appointment. Like most bullies, Rosenberg’s strategy has been is to attack people personally, throw around the “N” word (neo-con), twist words around, and accuse us who have objected to the Freeman appointment of being part of some conspiracy hell-bent to run the foreign policy...

One of the comments about Middle East policy that one hears from Senators, House Members and staff with ever-growing frequency is: "Why are obstructionist hawks so forceful a presence on Capitol Hill when they represent only a minority of the community?" One can hardly exaggerate how often this question is posed to us - albeit only by those who feel confident that we will not "blow the whistle" on them by publicizing their doubts about the long-standing US approach to the Middle East. It is not a pleasant question to encounter. After all, the mission of Israel Policy Forum (and...

I would not have expected that I could still be utterly shaken by a book about the Holocaust. I have been to the museums, read the books, seen the films, visited the camps, and listened to lectures and first- person testimonies. But a new book called The Lost: A Search for Six of the Six Million by a 45-year-old American, Daniel Mendelsohn, managed to take all I thought I knew about the Holocaust and render it obsolete. I don't mean obsolete in the sense of "wrong" but rather "old." Mendelsohn took what I thought I knew and made it outdated....
