The United States and South Korea have resumed some military exercises just days ahead of a high-profile meeting focused on denuclearisation between US secretary of state Mike Pompeo and North Korean officials. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said Monday that U.S. military personnel will not interact with immigrants approaching the U.S. border after President Trump deployed thousands of troops to prepare for the caravan. Trump has shown strong leadership as commander in chief on this issue. But there is one issue that even the military cannot solve: our own legal masochism. The caravan is now suing us in our own federal courts. If the Trump administration even legitimizes this lawsuit by sending DOJ attorneys to defend the case rather than simply treating this potential judge as a lawbreaker of all judicial precedent, no army in the world can stop the invasion by lawfare.

Fort Bragg soldiers, equipment and resources are being deployed to the southwest border to support Homeland Security efforts, officials told the Fayetteville Observer. A spokesman for the 18th Airborne Corps confirmed Tuesday that local troops were part of the more than 5,000 active duty forces who began deploying on Monday and who are expected along the border by the end of the week.
