Just in time for Democrats to offer free medical care for illegals, a study from the Center for Immigration Studies reports that migrant population in the U.S., both legal and illegal, is aging rapidly. Immigrants are coming here older and older, at a time when they will likely be in need of heavy medical services, which means the Democrat plan is likely to cost a pretty penny.  So much for the Democrats' (and the Mexican government's) insistence that illegal immigrants are young, fresh, vigorous, the wave of the future, and people who "contribute," meaning, it's a good thing to have...

U.S. authorities closed an international border bridge in El Paso, Texas, early Monday in response to Central American and Cuban migrants protesting on the Mexican side of the border. The protesters in Ciudad Juárez were chanting "vamos a cruzar" — "we are going to cross" — before Customs and Border Protection officials closed the bridge about 2 a.m., reported CNN.

2020 hopeful Beto O'Rourke has claimed that migrants have "no choice" but to come to the United States because of American "excesses" causing climate change in their country. O'Rourke, who is losing traction within the 2020 Democratic primary, made the remarks while visiting the Homestead Temporary Shelter for Unaccompanied Children in Florida on Wednesday.

The usual caveat up front, i.e. I can’t believe I’m agreeing with Andrew Sullivan. But his piece on immigration and the 2020 candidates restates a lot of the points I’ve tried to make in the last few weeks about this topic. The Democratic Party has long winked at illegal immigration but these days it is openly advocating for open borders. There’s a fantastic deal being offered to millions of people around the world: If you can get here and don’t commit a felony, you can stay indefinitely.

Hundreds of African and Haitian migrants rioted on Tuesday and tried to escape from a temporary immigration shelter in southern Mexico. Guards and police officers at the facility, the largest migrant center in Mexico, stopped the inmates as they attempted to flee. This was the third migrant uprising in a month at the Feria Mesoamericana shelter, which is located in Tapachula, a city in the state of Chiapas. Trouble ignited when migrants requested food, medical attention and help with their processing that would allow the to leave the facility.

Beto O'Rourke blamed Donald Trump for the deaths of a father and daughter who were found drowned earlier this week along a bank of the Rio Grande River. 'Trump is responsible for these deaths,' he wrote on Twitter Tuesday evening, sharing an AP story about the drowning. His charge comes ahead of the first Democratic presidential debate on Wednesday night, where O'Rourke will share the stage with nine other contenders. Democrats have expressed outrage over the president's immigration policies since the searing photo went viral.

Mexico’s defense minister said Monday that the nation has deployed nearly 15,000 troops to its northern border to increase border enforcement, part of a deal to avert U.S. tariffs on Mexican goods, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP). Days after POTUS Donald Trump’s administration came to an agreement with Mexico to begin stepping up efforts to interdict Central American migrants along its southern border, authorities have arrested nearly 800 most-Honduran migrants found on four trucks.
