On Friday's News One Now on TV One, substitute host Michelle Bernard presided over a panel in which one guest asserted that the push to repeal ObamaCare by Donald Trump supporters is fueled by a desire for "eugenics" against minorities to bolster "white supremacy." She further claimed that there was a desire to "eliminate" and "annihilate" minorities. Neither host Bernard nor even the token Republican on the panel voiced any disagreement with her incendiary claims.

During a Saturday discussion on MSNBC about President Donald Trump’s presidency, Michelle Bernard, the president and CEO of the Bernard Center for Women, said she “can’t help but think” slavery is on its way back.

In one of the more absurd statement of this absurd political season, Joy Reid guest Michelle Bernard said it was "hubris" for Donald Trump to imagine that he was "akin" to American leaders who have been the target of assassination attempts such as Lincoln, MLK, JFK, RFK and Reagan. How illogical can Bernard be? Whether or not Trump belongs in the political pantheon she described, can she possibly believe that he could not possibly be the target of a madman? And what of the lesser figures who were the object of assassination attempts, such as McKinley, Garfield and Gerald Ford?...

Move over, War on Women, there's a new war in town. On the August 18 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, contributor Michelle Bernard warned there is a "war on black men" in the United States, as evidence both by the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., and persistent criticism of President Barack Obama from Republicans. What's more, Bernard insisted, there would be a "genocide" of young black men unless the problem were seriously addressed to her satisfaction.

Chris Matthews mocked Republicans on Friday's Hardball over their hawkish stance towards Boko Haram, the Nigerian Islamist group that recently kidnapped hundreds of girls. Matthews made a thinly-veiled racial attack on the GOP during a panel discussion on the terrorist organization: " By the way, when did the Republican Party take this keen interest in Africa? I may have missed that one."

You can’t swing a dead cat these days without hitting some prominent African-American claiming race relations have worsened since Barack Obama became president. Count MSNBC political and legal analyst Michelle Bernard among them, for on PBS’ McLaughlin Group Friday, she said, “The country has become more race conscious in terms of color and in terms of ethnicity since he was elected.” … Her sentiments seem to be shared by many African-Americans. The two Obama-friendly panelists—Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post and Richard Wolffe of Newsweek—were ostensibly offset by Philly radio talker Michael Smerconish and Independent Women's Forum head Michelle Bernard. But channeling Dem congressman James Clyburn on this morning's Today, Smerc called the House Republicans "sophomoric." That was nothing. One-upping Smerconish in the pejorative department, Bernard said that every recent McCain move has been "like an epileptic fit." Not that she is, but if Michelle Obama were in fact a Black Panther, what's the big deal? So seems to think Michelle Bernard. Anyone who thinks that Bernard adds conservative balance to the MSNBC panels on which she regularly appears should think again. Yes, Bernard is head of the Independent Women's Forum, an organization with strong conservative roots. And true, Bernard served on the 2000 Bush-Cheney Presidential Inaugural Committee.
