India has great disparities when it comes to food access: while 194 million people go hungry to bed daily, another 30 million are battling obesity. And now, a new challenge has been added to the mix: climate change. Rising temperatures, variable rainfall, extreme weather events and loss of agricultural land due to droughts and floods are impacting food production, availability and access around the world. A 2011 FAO report quotes research predicting a 20% increase in global child malnutrition, compared to a world not weighed down by the burden of climate change. But what does climate change have to do...

Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore declared U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez the new leader of the Democratic Party, while urging political moderates to take a position because there “is no middle ground anymore.” “She is the leader. Everybody knows it. Everybody feels it,” Moore said of the freshman congresswoman from New York during a Friday interview on MSNBC. Moore said the age requirement to run for president - 35 - should be constitutionally amended so that Ocasio-Cortez could make a play for the White House. Michael Moore’s New Year Wish: ‘Many Members of the Trump Family in Orange Jumpsuits’ (Breitbart.Com) ARTICLE By Jeffrey A. Friedberg Just my opinion but—hey. WHAT IS THERE to say about the blathering abomination? He’s fat? He’s a slob? A phony? Everybody already has their own ideas about that. What—he goes around dressed in old ball cap and sloppy clothes? Now that’s interesting, because it apparently shows what a false, lying, cynical, marketeer he actually is. He’s marketing a Brand. His Brand: a Michael “The Just” Moore brand. He dresses like sloppy Joe America; a typical Guy. He plays Let’s-Make-Believe with...

Thursday on MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” left-wing documentary filmmaker Michael Moore said the Republicans 2017 tax cut was an act of “terror.” Moore said, “All the Republicans in that photo you showed standing there on the steps with him a year ago today all looking so slap happy and ah, remember it’s not just Trump, all of the Republicans, all of them, nobody has had the courage to stand up and say this is wrong, this is un-American. This hurts this country. This is— this tax cut in a sense an act of terror because it’s going to make the...

On October 17, 2018, a student at a technical college in the Crimean city of Kerch carried out a Columbine-style rampage attack. He committed suicide at the end of his attack. He killed 20 people and wounded 70 more, many of them severely. I will not mention his name. It is included in the excerpt below. There are very restrictive gun control laws in place in Crimea. The murderer legally obtained a shotgun by performing all that was required, including a medical exam, and joining a local gun club. He purchased 150 rounds of ammunition a month before the attack. In...

At that ceremony, he had been pulled off the stage and...

Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore asked for the “angry white men” of America to “just take a break” in an interview on Thursday. During an appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," Moore said that he, being an “angry white guy over 50 with a high school education,” is part of President Trump's targeted demographic. But he said he and his “fellow angry white American guys” have been “running the show for 10,000 years," and it's time to give someone else a chance. “It’s like, we’ve had a long run as men running everything and the Yankees could never...

During an appearance on NBC’s “Late Night” with Seth Meyers, film maker Michael Moore called on “angry white American guys” to “give it up” because their demographic time is over. “They are fanatical about this because they know their time is up. And it’s sort of the angry white guy, which actually — I’m really Trump’s demographic,” said Moore. “I’m an angry white guy over 50 with a high school education. So that’s me. So if I could just speak to my fellow angry white American guys who are semi-uneducated like me. Dudes, give it up. We’ve been running the...

There was a scare in Hollywood on Monday when a suspicious package addressed to Bill Maher was reported to authorities — and the powerhouse management firm that reps the comic had to evacuate its offices. Sources told Page Six that Brillstein Entertainment — which reps Maher, as well as Brad Pitt, Rob Lowe and Courteney Cox — had been warned by authorities that Maher’s name was on a list of potential targets by alleged mail bomber Cesar Sayoc, as was Brillstein’s Wilshire Blvd. address.

Democratic filmmaker Michael Moore on Sunday released raw, unedited footage he captured for his latest film, "Fahrenheit 11/9." Moore claims to have footage of the suspect behind the bombs sent to Democrats and CNN, Cesar Sayoc.Moore detailed how he acquired the footage in a blog post on his website. He also took the time to place blame on Trump for Sayoc's actions (emphasis mine): My crew first encountered Cesar Sayoc, the mail bomber/terrorist, 20 months ago when we went down to Melbourne, Florida, to film Trump’s first “Trump 2020 Re-election Rally” — just one month after his inauguration. My direction...

Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore was an unwitting participant in a November anti-Trump rally that was allegedly organized by the Russians indicted last week for meddling in the 2016 presidential election.According to the indictment of 13 Russian nationals released Friday by U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the defendants and their co-conspirators tried to sow discord in the U.S. political system by organizing dueling rallies for and against then-President-elect Donald Trump in New York City on Nov. 12, 2016.One of those rallies, called “Trump is NOT my President,” was promoted on social media and MSNBC by Mr. Moore, who has routinely accused...

It falls to Michael Moore’s empty stomach to help explain to me the difference between hope and optimism. “Right now, I’m hoping that somebody will feed me today,” he says. But that hope is passive. It may whet his appetite, but the disappointment will be all the more crushing if it isn’t satisfied. On the other hand, he explains, optimism is constructive, strategic. “I’m in a first world country, and somewhere I have a wallet with a credit card and some money in it. So the optimist in me has credibility, because it’s safe to say I will eat. Does...

Left-wing documentary filmmaker Michael Moore believes “beloved Americans” such as actor Tom Hanks or Michelle Obama are some of the few possible candidates who could defeat President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election. In an interview with Good Morning Britain‘s Piers Morgan, Michael Moore said that the Democratic Party needs to put forward a candidate with widespread appeal. “Democrats need to run a beloved American, someone people want to vote for,” Moore explained. “I’ve said for years that Oprah should run. I’ve asked Tom Hanks twice to run.” “Who doesn’t like Tom Hanks? Nobody, right? Tom Hanks would win,”...

Michael Moore set the record for the highest-grossing documentary of all time (1989’s “Roger & Me”). Then he broke his own record (2002’s “Bowling for Columbine”). Then he broke it again, with what remains the highest-grossing doc in US history, 2004’s “Fahrenheit 9/11.” Along the way he won an Oscar and predicted Donald Trump’s presidential victory when no one else saw it coming. That was then. These days Moore’s IRS-reported income is (according to legal papers filed by his ex-wife, Kathleen Glynn) negative-$350,862 (in 2014) and negative-$221,025 (in 2016). He’s still making movies, but America is yawning. Already there have...

It’s been almost two years since Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election to Donald Trump in a stunning upset. Director Michael Moore lays out his take on how Trump pulled off the surprise victory in his latest film, Fahrenheit 11/9, in theaters Friday. (The title is a riff on the day when the race was called for Trump and the title of his 2004 movie Fahrenheit 9/11). In his new doc, the liberal Moore slams Republicans, showing footage of Adolf Hitler dubbed with Trump speeches. But he also criticizes Democrats, claiming that the party rigged the Democratic National Convention to...
