A Miami high school student brutally raped at female teacher at his school after choking until she passed out, police say. Victor Marshall Nash, 18, is charged with attempted first degree murder, sexual battery, robbery and grand theft for the alleged attack on his teacher at South Dade Senior High School on Friday. Detectives say two hours after the last class ended, Nash approached the teacher and put his arm around her. When she told him 'No, stop,' he body-slammed her to the ground and smashed her head against the floor.

Miami Gardens police have charged a second suspect in the death of Qualecia James, a pregnant woman who was killed in a drive-by shooting earlier this year. Police charged Gregory Medy, 18, with one count of first-degree murder of James. James, 21, was shot March 30 as she sat in the back seat of a car at Northwest 182nd Street and 32nd Avenue. Doctors at Jackson Memorial Hospital delivered her baby, but he died five days later.

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist will announce his running mate Thursday, according to sources. A Democratic sources close to the campaign said Crist will select Annette Taddeo-Goldstein as his running mate in his bid for Governor. Taddeo-Goldstein is the head of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party and lost in a congressional bid in 2008 against Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. A Miami police officer pulled a car over for speeding last month, which turned out to be a plainclothes internal affairs lieutenant who shoved the door open on the officer after refusing to provide his drivers license, leading to a struggle on the side of the road that was caught on camera. A Miami police officer has been suspended pending an investigation into a brawl he had with an alleged speeding driver he recently pulled over who turned out to be his ranking officer. Officer Marcel Jackson didn't know he was pulling over a fellow cop when he made the traffic stop and was shocked when he says the driver lunged at him and told him to get back in his car. The driver turned out to be Lieutenant David Ramras with the force's internal affairs unit.
