Billionaire tech entrepreneur Reid Hoffman recently gave a $250,000 donation to a super PAC supporting Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley. Dmitri Mehlhorn, a political adviser to Hoffman, confirmed the contribution to SFA Fund Inc. with The Hill. The New York Times first reported the donation. The hefty donation to the GOP White House hopeful is particularly notable as Hoffman is an open supporter of President Biden, who is running for reelection. Hoffman, the billionaire co-founder of LinkedIn, co-hosted a campaign fundraiser for Biden in San Francisco back in June.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky isn’t the only one demanding more military assistance from President Biden to protect Kiev from Russian forces. So too is a close Delaware friend and financial backer of Biden, who owns several luxury car dealerships around the Ukrainian capital. By sending billions of dollars in weapons and other military aid to help defend Ukraine, Biden also is securing the investments of millionaire car magnate John Hynansky, a Ukrainian American and longtime supporter of the president. Over the course of Biden’s political career, Hynansky and his family have contributed more than $100,000 to his campaigns, including $8,000...

Conservative New York Times columnist Ross Douthat on Tuesday slammed Republican megadonor Ken Griffin’s “indefensibly stupid” $300,000,000 gift to Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences. “The fact that Griffin is presumably ‘fiscally conservative but socially liberal’ provides some vague way of reconciling this with his support for Ron DeSantis, but really if you’re any kind of Republican in 2023 this sort of giving is indefensibly stupid,” Douthat tweeted. Griffin, a hedge fund manager worth $35 billion, donated over $70 million to Republicans in the 2022 midterm cycle, making him the party’s second-largest donor of the cycle, according to watchdog group...

A GOP mega-donor said that he would no longer support former President Trump after his announcement of a third presidential bid in 2024 on Tuesday night. Stephen Schwarzman, the CEO and co-founder of the investment firm Blackstone, told Axios in a statement that the Republican Party should nominate someone else who will represent a new generation of leaders. “America does better when its leaders are rooted in today and tomorrow, not today and yesterday,” he said. “It is time for the Republican Party to turn to a new generation of leaders and I intend to support one of them in...

The man who has cast himself as one of the Democratic Party’s emergent power players found his company in shambles—forced to sell to its biggest rival—on Election Day. Suffering from a liquidity crunch after a run in which users pulled nearly $6 billion from the company, according to Reuters, Sam Bankman-Fried was forced into an emergency sale to a rival company, Binance. The announcement of FTX’s acquisition prompted Bitcoin to plummet to two-year lows. It's a stunning reversal for the 30-year-old who donated over $5 million to Joe Biden's campaign in 2020 and who just three months ago was vaunted...

Gov. Kathy Hochul attended a secret meeting this week at the Upper East Side townhouse of Alexander Rovt — a billionaire mega-donor to her campaign whose hospital network was bailed out by the state in April. A source provided The Post a video of Hochul — who is already under fire over accusations of pay to play campaign donations involving an overpriced, no-bid $637 million COVID test contract — entering Rovt’s mansion on East 68th Street Thursday morning. Rovt, 70, is chairman of the board of One Brooklyn Health Systems Inc., which runs a network of medical facilities where the...

The Godfather of the left George Soros was recognized as Inside Philanthropy’s “philanthropist of the year.” Is that because of his history of bankrolling leftist causes? The liberal publication recognized Soros during its Inside Philanthropy’s Philanthropist of the Year Awards (IPPYs), lavishing propaganda-based praise on the billionaire: “[N]o donor is doing more to push back against the rising tide of authoritarianism worldwide.” They must have forgotten that Soros is currently supporting Big Government causes in the U.S. such as gun-control and a wealth-tax.

Editor’s Note: This story first appeared in the Wall Street Journal. We reprint in part here. Hillary Clinton’s State Department was part of a panel that approved the sale of one of America’s largest uranium mines at the same time a foundation controlled by the seller’s chairman was making donations to a Clinton family charity, records reviewed by The Wall Street Journal show. The $610 million sale of 51% of Uranium One to a unit of Rosatom, Russia’s state nuclear agency, was approved in 2010 by a U.S. federal committee that assesses the security implications of foreign investments. The State Department, which...
