Democratic congresswoman pulls participation from Americans For Peace Now commemoration for assassinated Israeli premier, after pro-Palestinian activists call move ‘disgusting’ Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Friday withdrew her participation from an event commemorating former prime minster Yitzhak Rabin on the 25th anniversary of his assassination. The decision, which came after backlash from pro-Palestinian activists, was confirmed to The Times of Israel by a spokeswoman for the congresswoman, a rising star in the progressive wing of the Democratic party. The about-face came a day after Americans for Peace Now announced that Ocasio-Cortez would be joining the October 20 virtual event emceed...

Total victory is upon us, folks. And some Republicans have managed to get on a path towards redemption with conservatives. Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) said he wouldn’t block the nominee. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) is a ‘no,’ but as we’ve said before—Maine is an oddball state. She gets a pass. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), a runner up in the biggest pain in the a** contest among the GOP, did initially say that she’s opposed to filling the Supreme Court vacancy left by Ruth Bade Ginsburg, but is now changing her tune. The last justice passed away last Friday making the...

An international team of scientists said Monday it had joined forces to combat the spread of anti-Semitism online with the help of artificial intelligence. The project Decoding Anti-Semitism includes discourse analysts, computational linguists and historians who will develop a "highly complex, AI-driven approach to identifying online anti-Semitism," the Alfred Landecker Foundation, which supports the project, said in a statement Monday. "In order to prevent more and more users from becoming radicalized on the web, it is important to identify the real dimensions of anti-Semitism - also taking into account the implicit forms that might become more explicit over time," said...

As President Trump moves to nominate a candidate to fill the seat of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died Friday, there are a growing number of Democrats threatening to implement a radical strategy and pack the Supreme Court if they take control of the White House and the Senate. “If he holds a vote in 2020, we pack the court in 2021,” Rep. Joe Kennedy III, D-Mass., tweeted on Saturday. “It’s that simple.” “Mitch McConnell set the precedent. No Supreme Court vacancies filled in an election year. If he violates it, when Democrats control the Senate in the next Congress,...

Video has surfaced of former Secretary of State John Kerry adamantly insisting Middle East peace was not possible without the Palestinians. The comments, viewed in the prism of President Trump’s recent historic peace deal between Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the Kingdom of Bahrain, led to mockery on social media . The Abraham Accords, which President Trump aptly described as “the dawn of a new Middle East,” were signed earlier this week by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan, and Bahrain Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalif, and will involve establishing...

Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) called the Hunter Biden-Burisma investigation was “not the legitimate role of government,” during a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee business meeting on Wednesday. Homeland Security Committee chairman Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) has defended the investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter’s dealings with Ukraine and his role on the board of energy company Burisma.

With Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain signing a historic treaty at the White House on Tuesday, the Washington Free Beacon looks back on predictions of Middle East turmoil when the Trump administration recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital in 2018. Although critics such as former secretary of state John Kerry proclaimed at the time that the rejection of Palestinian claims to the city would stymie peace efforts in the Middle East or lead to violence, the UAE and Bahrain announced they would formally recognize Israel and establish diplomatic relations with the Jewish state. President Donald Trump and Israeli prime...

This article is an adapted excerpt from “Abuse of Power: Inside the Three-Year Campaign to Impeach Donald Trump.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s avoidance of impeachment was going to be one of many problems the House speaker would have with “The Squad.†Over the summer, her grip on power began to weaken, as she tried to put down a party rebellion.Pelosi’s compromise border security funding bill initially had only nominal Democratic opposition. But The Squad, consisting of Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Ayanna Pressley, wanted to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement, not fund it. The Senate...

A Massachusetts town clerk has resigned after officials in the 4th Congressional District community lost track of thousands of ballots in the primary earlier this month. Franklin Town Clerk Teresa Burr on Friday stepped down to “re-establish confidence with the voters of this community in their elections,” she wrote in her resignation letter. Two days after the Sept. 1 primary, thousands of uncounted ballots surfaced in Franklin as the 4th Congressional District remained too close to call. The newly discovered 3,000 uncounted ballots were mail-in votes that appeared to have never made it to polling locations on Election Day. Poll...

ADL points out Hamas and anti-Semitism; CAIR cries “Islamophobia". Joe Kaufman, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, is Chairman of the Joe Kaufman Security Initiative and the 2014, 2016 and 2018 Republican Nominee for U.S. House of Representatives (Florida-CD23). Last month, a letter was published, signed by a large number of organizations, calling on Progressives to “drop” their partnerships with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), claiming that the ADL “undermines the rights of marginalized communities.” What is at the heart of this letter is the perception that the ADL is a defense mechanism for the state of...

Harvard could not have picked a worse choice. The Future of Diplomacy Project at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs announced last week that Saeb Erekat will serve as a Fisher Family Fellow for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year. Erekat is a Palestinian diplomat, who’s held various senior posts within the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority. As a Fisher Family Fellow, Erekat will mentor students and give virtual seminars, and will presumably impart his knowledge and expertise on the state of Palestinian affairs and its international relations, including those it maintains with Israel. Harvard...

My membership is expiring this month at "BJ's Wholesale" a warehouse club store out of Massachusetts. Recently they closed one of these stores in my upstate NY town (before Covid fiasco) so I go to a local town nearby to buy cheaper gas and certain items in bulk. Much to my chagrin, several (mostly younger) workers were wearing company sponsored "end racism" tshirts. That was it. I was on the fence about renewing anyway since the one close by has closed.

"Republicans for the Rule of Law," a group headed by Bill Kristol, released this campaign-style ad highlighting a whistleblower accusation that President Trump inappropriately asked the Ukrainian president to investigate allegations of corruption related to Joe Biden and his son's business in the Ukraine. The ad shows pictures of Republican Sens. Mitt Romney, Richard Burr, Ben Sasse, and Marco Rubio and tells them to "stand up for the rule of law -- and stand up for yourselves."

All but three Senate Democrats now openly support infanticide of babies who manage to be born alive despite an attempted abortion.  A total of 60 votes were needed to overcome a promised filibuster, and the measure gained only 53 votes.  But the field of presidential contenders from the Senate are now all on the record.  As the Washington Post notes: All of the announced 2020 Democratic presidential candidates — Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Cory Booker (N.J.), Kamala D. Harris (Calif.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) — voted "no." Senator Ben Sasse's sponsorship of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and Mitch McConnell's...

It is ranked 151st in the Fortune Global 500 list as of 2019, and has over 100 subsidiaries, 27 listed companies and 500,000 employees across the globe. ============================================== As he was sewing up the Democrat nomination this spring, Joe Biden surprised many in foreign policy circles by publishing an essay arguing it was time to "get tough with China" and to stop its "robbing...

But for U.S. security experts, it was remarkable for another reason: An investment fund named Bohai Harvest RST (BHR) partly owned and directed by Biden's son, Hunter, and Secretary of State John Kerry's stepson, Chris Heinz, had just a few years earlier played a vital role in facilitating the sale of the Michigan-based auto parts maker Henniges Automotive to one of China's main military aircraft makers, Aviation Industry Corporation of China or AVIC. That 2015 transaction approved by the Obama administration and its Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) came just 15 months after the United States...

Congress will launch an investigation into sexual assault, disappearances, deaths and the leadership's response at Fort Hood after 28 soldiers stationed at the U.S. Army base in Texas died this year, two subcommittee leaders announced Tuesday. Democratic Reps. Stephen Lynch of Massachusetts and Jackie Speier of California sent a letter to Army Secretary Ryan D. McCarthy requesting documents and information on the deaths. Lynch chairs the Committee on Oversight and Reform's Subcommittee on National Security, and Speier leads the Committee on Armed Services' Subcommittee on Military Personnel.

Trump is a devoted supporter of Muslims fighting fundamentalist Islamism everywhere Two Trump-hating, far-left radical women made news this week as they got into an argument about how to best insult President Trump. As a Muslim woman observing Islam, and someone who admires the president as a true friend of Muslims around the world and an outstanding leader of our country, I find their comments to be ignorant, insulting and intellectually dishonest. The argument began Monday night when MSNBC host Joy Reid — who devotes her nightly show “The ReidOut” to denouncing Trump and all he does — said the...
