Crews from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation were able to capture a wild black bear that was seen in Cutler Bay. Judith Corrado is headed to court. She is suing Drees Homes, one of the largest privately-owned home building companies in the country, for $25,000. “I just thought that I should have gotten a new house that wasn’t… going to melt,” Corrado told WCPO. In recent years, there have been reports of energy efficient windows reflecting enough light to warp a neighbor’s vinyl siding. That’s what Corrado says is happening to her home. “When you do your walkthrough of your brand new house they don’t say, ‘You know your siding could melt, just so you know it could melt before you...

The local authorities in Nice have refused a request by French anti-terror police to destroy CCTV images of last week's lorry attack. The Paris prosecutor's office said the request had been made to avoid the "uncontrolled dissemination" of images. But officials in Nice have responded by filing a legal document, arguing the footage could constitute evidence. It is the latest evidence of a growing dispute between the local and national authorities in the wake of the attack. More than 80 people died when a Tunisian man, Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, ploughed a lorry into crowds out celebrating Bastille Day on 14 July....

CLEVELAND — Donald Trump’s acceptance speech hit the mark Thursday night, drawing accolades from a number of GOP political insiders who had doubted his competence to lead the Republican ticket this fall. That’s according to The POLITICO Caucus — a panel of operatives, activists and strategists in 11 battleground states surveyed immediately following Trump’s speech. Fifty-six percent of Republican insiders said Trump’s speech — a forceful indictment of those responsible for what he perceives as a country in decline, along with an assurance that he is uniquely qualified to solve the nation’s ills — made them feel more confident in...

Hillary Clinton and the Democrats should be worried. Why? Because Donald Trump delivered Thursday night and did what he needed to do. No, he didn’t deliver a speech with great oratorical flourish. No, he didn’t broaden the base of the party significantly though he did speak about minorities and the LGBTQ community in ways that he hadn’t done before. What Trump did, and he did it very well, was to raise the stakes of the election and define it in his own terms. Law and order, crime in the streets, and terror. He managed to make the argument, compellingly, that...

Officials told residents of a small Colorado community not to drink or shower in tap water Thursday because one of the town’s wells may have been contaminated with THC, marijuana’s intoxicating chemical. No illnesses have been linked to the water in Hugo, a town of about 730 people some 100 miles southeast of Denver, said Lincoln County Public Health Director Susan Kelly. THC was detected in tests conducted with field kits, although other field tests were negative, sheriff’s Capt. Michael Yowell said. More definitive laboratory tests were underway, he said. …

She said that some radio hosts and a certain news network would soon learn the lessons of the mostly non-existent talk radio in California. “People don’t keep going to the baseball game,” Coulter said, “if you lose season after season.” She warned that if Clinton wins, “we’re gonna be overwhelmed with refugees, with immigrant, um, that’s it. It’s lights out for America.” (Video at link)
