The two Palestinian polities in Gaza and in the West Bank, are both in an advanced state of deliquescence. Their disastrous condition is discussed here: “Palestinian Society Sinks into Shambles,” by James Sinkinson, JNS.org, August 10, 2023:Palestinian society is in disarray. In two major West Bank towns—Jenin and Nablus—the Palestinian Authority has lost control, and rogue gangs rule the land. Last week, thousands of Gazans protested in the streets—risking brutal backlash from the Hamas regime. Meanwhile, talks in Egypt meant to reconcile the PA and Hamas after 17 bitter years have again hopelessly failed. The PA’s authority no longer extends much beyond...

Fully vaccinated people are much less likely to die with Covid-19 than those who aren't, or have had only one dose, figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show. Out of more than 51,000 Covid deaths in England between January and July 2021, only 256 occurred after two doses. They were mostly people at very high risk from illness from Covid-19. The figures show the high degree of protection from the vaccines against illness and death, the ONS said.

EUROPEAN political chiefs are to take advantage of Brexit by unveiling their long-held plan to morph the continent’s countries into one GIANT SUPERSTATE, it has emerged today. The foreign ministers of France and Germany are due to reveal a blueprint to effectively do away with individual member states in what is being described as an “ultimatum”. Under the radical proposals EU countries will lose the right to have their own army, criminal law, taxation system or central bank, with all those powers being transferred to Brussels. The plot has sparked fury and panic in Poland - a traditional ally of...

As Doug noted earlier, “Governor Palin is showing a tremendous amount of courage and leadership by literally traveling to the “lion’s den.’” This is not just lofty rhetoric. The threats are mounting, and they should be taken seriously. When the powerful left and union bosses begin talk of throwing things and drowning out free speech, you can be assured they are not acting with care and concern for any hard working Wisconsinite. They are reaching out with greedy hands to strangle the liberties of anyone standing in the way of their money and power. As has become so common with Gov....

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem~The Book of Daniel Daniel 6 1. It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; 2. And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage. 3. Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. 4.Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning...

The blogosphere is now an essential part of any candidate’s campaign for any office higher than Dog Catcher in Dover, Delaware. So, when I saw my name mentioned in BlogAsheville, I replied. A group of almost entirely “progressives,” as they label themselves, invited me to meet them in a face-to-face, unscripted encounter. I had no delusions about the political beliefs of the group. As one of them wrote in advance of our get-together last Sunday, “we expect to beat you like a bass drum, come November.” That quote’s from memory and may not be precise. But it captures the spirit...

Lakeland Community College near Cleveland, Ohio, has removed a professor of moral philosophy from his classes as punishment for refusing to hide his religious identity from students. The college threatened Dr. James Tuttle, who espouses traditional Catholic beliefs, with dismissal because he made statements on his syllabi and in class that disclosed his religious faith and how that shaped his personal philosophy. "Asking a philosophy professor to divorce his deepest philosophic views from his teaching is both outrageous and absurd," said Greg Lukianoff, director of legal and public advocacy for the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE). "To say...
