Call it the Ebola of Journalism. And its spreading -- to Time and CNN. The cover of the September 1, 2014 issue of Time could not be more explicit. Showing a dramatic image of a black man on his knees, hands raised with the cover bearing the title "The Tragedy of Ferguson," it was written by David Von Drehle and Alex Altman in the tones of the standard liberal “I-told-you-so” thinking on race . It included the line: “We’ve been here before—and failed to learn the lessons.” When it came to the mess that is ObamaCare? There was this Time...

(Reuters) - The U.S. government sued a small Minneapolis suburb on Wednesday, accusing it of religious discrimination after local leaders denied a Muslim group the right to open a center in the municipality. The Justice Department filed a complaint in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis against St. Anthony Village, where council members voted 4-1 in 2012 to deny a request by the Abu Huraira Islamic Center to create a place of worship in the basement of the St. Anthony Business Center. "Religious freedom is one of our most cherished rights, and there are few aspects of that right more central...

"Dark money" being used to shield political donors, bashing school choice, linking perceived societal wrongs to the "Koch Brothers" – that's the usual buzz of many left-wing websites. But controversial posts about those topics and more are also the norm for one Michigan school district. Articles about many of the usual liberal complaints fill the Twitter feed of Oakland Schools, the intermediate school district for Oakland County. It recently retweeted a post titled “Corporate America May Have the Answer for Dark Money Transparency.” While most school district Twitter accounts promote upcoming school events or awards won by staff, Oakland Schools...

How liberal or conservative are America’s cities? TRUE to stereotype, San Francisco is the most leftie city in the union. But would people expect Washington, DC, to come second, ahead of Seattle (where it is legal to smoke pot) or the Democratic stronghold of Boston? On the other end of the scale, Mesa, Arizona is the most conservative large city, with a slew of Texan and Oklahoman municipalities high on the list.

On July 10, D.C. federal judge Emmet Sullivan gave the IRS thirty days to provide him sworn declarations in the Freedom of Information Act suit filed by Judicial Watch, seeking much of the same information the IRS has effectively kept from Congress. After an “extraordinary” hearing, Judge Sullivan ordered the IRS to tell him under oath exactly what happened to Lois Lerner’s hard drive. He demanded sworn declarations specifying what the agency had done to recover the thousands of emails missing. Time’s up. The IRS filed its “declarations” yesterday. As an attorney who has read the filings and who has...

PHOENIX (Reuters) - A transgender man who made headlines by giving birth to three children can divorce his wife of more than 10 years, an Arizona appeals court ruled on Wednesday, rejecting a lower court's decision. A three-member panel of the Arizona Court of Appeals unanimously decided that the divorce can proceed because Thomas Beatie's 2003 marriage in Hawaii was considered legal in Arizona. "As the Beaties' Hawaii marriage was lawfully entered in Hawaii and is not deemed void by Arizona law, the marriage is valid within this state," said Judge Kenton D. Jones, in the 12-page opinion. The court's...

It’s the terminus point of modern feminism: make the deeply personal very publicly political, and get someone else to pay for it! If one man is keeping you in the style to which you’re accustomed, you’re a kept woman – perhaps even [shudder] a stay-at-home mom. But if your sugar is funneled from thousands of hapless tax payers through a legion of faceless bureaucrats, you’re a tower of feminist self-determination. Fight the power, sisters! Demand government tampons! “This is less an issue of costliness than it is of principle,” she later admitted, because “menstrual care is health care.” To back...

It has been a summer of remembrance. The centennial of the Great War that began with the Guns of August 1914. The 75th anniversary of the Danzig crisis that led to Hitler's invasion of Poland on Sept. 1, 1939. The 70th anniversary of D-Day. In America, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. And this week marks the 40th anniversary of the resignation of President Richard Nixon. Once again, aging liberals will walk the children through the tale of that triumph of American democracy when they helped to save our republic from the greatest menace...

According to the Wall Street Journal, the actor created the property by combining two parcels he bought in 2005, paying about $14.5 million for both. The home is located on the same glitzy street where Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez, and Calvin Klein are said to have lived.

PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender remain significantly more likely than non-LGBT Americans to identify as Democrats. More than six in 10 LGBT Americans identify as Democrats or are Democratic-leaning independents, while 21% identify with or lean toward the Republican Party. Non-LGBT Americans are more evenly divided in their politics, tilting just slightly more Democratic than Republican. The political orientation of LGBT individuals is virtually unchanged since Gallup's June-September 2012 report, when 21% identified as Republicans, and 65% as Democrats. These results are based on 88,802 Gallup Daily tracking interviews conducted between Jan. 2...

Leave it to Laverne Cox to make sure Oprah's best friend gets her trans terminology right. The Emmy-nominated “Orange is the New Black” actress — the first openly transgender woman to receive that honor — appeared on “CBS This Morning” Tuesday to promote the show and her other projects. When co-host Gayle King started her section of the interview by saying “So, you were born a boy…”, Cox quickly corrected her by saying that she was “assigned” a gender at birth, but she always felt like she was a girl.

Friend– HUGE NEWS: Today, the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed what so many of us know to be true: "Virginia's same-sex marriage bans impermissibly infringe on its citizens' fundamental right to marry." By upholding the constitutional rights of all Virginia families, the Court has joined many Virginians—and Americans—in supporting true equality. Click here to join me now in hailing the Court’s decision to agree that it's time to put us on the right side of the law and history. When I took office, we faced a court date in just a few weeks and had to decide whether...

I was in another thread and somehow my brain decided to come up with a new apt term to describe liberal control freak policies... The 3lbs of grey matter between my ears came up with the term "Feel Good Fascism". I think it encapsulates their ideology quite well. Fat People are bad and drink too much soda, so ban people from buying soda = Feel Good Fascism. Poor People Exist, so you Steal using government power to give help to people who are unable to or unwilling to work = Feel Good Fascism. Liberal policies have two components, One is...

Michelle Nunn — the Democrat running in the very close U.S. Senate contest in Georgia — has a problem on her hands now that an exhaustive campaign plan drafted by aides has leaked in the media. The document, revealed online Monday by the National Review, describes the candidate’s liabilities likely to be exploited by opponents. It also specifically describes the necessity of raising money from Jews, Asians and gays while working to increase turnout of African-Americans and Latinos. Speaking of the Jewish community, the document notes: “There is tremendous financial opportunity.” “Michelle’s position on Israel will largely determine the level...

Along with being one of America's most honest and entertaining personalities in sports media, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith is member of a distinguished club of individuals who are regularly vilified and edited so as to be taken out of context as a consequence of supporting policies which incur liberal wrath. The latest faux controversy over allegedly controversial statements he made with Skip Bayless on ESPN's First Take. During the discussion which focused on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's decision to suspend Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice for two games as a result of his domestic violence charges, generally thought to...

As the November 2014 elections draw closer, Republicans are fixated on taking control of the Senate and Democrats find themselves focused on picking out china patterns for a presumptive Hillary Clinton inaugural ball in 2017, conservatives should consider the fact that a Constitutional Convention is very much within reach in 2015. Once the votes are counted, the Republican Party may just control the needed number of statehouses across the country to invoke the rarely discussed provision set in Article V the US Constitution which requires Congress to call a convention of states to propose amendments. Better still for conservatives, the...

I have been vindicated! For years I have been comparing the Clinton family to the family of Warren Gamaliel Harding, our 29th president and a president of dark memory at least to most liberal historians. For me, Warren was sheer slapstick, as to some degree his modern-day equivalent was, Bill Clinton. And forget not their gruesome wives. I began my historical comparisons in the 1996 bestselling book, "Boy Clinton: The Political Biography." For years, I punctuated my syndicated column with references to the two families. Then in my 2007 book, "The Clinton Crack-Up," I clinched the comparison in a...

“How would you fight the war on terror?” Watters asked. “Let’s be friends, let’s work together,” she replied. “You want to be friends with al Qaeda?” Watters said. “I want the entire world to know that we are all connected,” the woman added.
