Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart and University of Southern California basketball player Brynn Cameron are expecting a baby in the fall, PEOPLE has learned. Leinart, 23, one of PEOPLE's 2006 Most Beautiful People, graduated from USC in December 2005 and lives in Los Angeles and Arizona. Cameron, a 20-year-old USC junior, will sit out the upcoming basketball season. "It's an exciting time in their life," says a source who knows both athletes. "They both have support from their families."

Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart announced that he will return to Southern California for his senior season. Leinart, 21, obviously had a difficult time deciding. Early this week he said he has sometimes changed his mind almost hourly. The redshirt junior and the Trojans didn't play their final game of the season until Jan. 4, when he threw an Orange Bowl record five touchdown passes in a 55-19 win over Oklahoma that gave USC a second consecutive national title.

John W. Heisman, for whom the most famous trophy in American sports is named, never wanted his name associated with the award. Heisman was one of the most accomplished college football coaches of the early 20th century and he abhorred the notion of an individual award in what he considered the ultimate team game. "Is it not meant to exemplify the grandeur of a thousand men?" Heisman told members of the Downtown Athletic Club when they approached him about the award in early 1935.
