There’s a certain type of architecture from the mid-20th century called “California Crazy.” Think of a donut shop shaped like a big concrete donut or a restaurant shaped like a hat. That kitschy programmatic architecture defined Southern California life in the middle of the last century. Here’s an example:Uzma Gamal, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons These days “California Crazy” has new meaning all its own — the policies of a left-wing state that seems to be drifting ever leftward. Citizens of the Golden State pay anywhere between 1% and 12.3% in taxes, depending on residency, income, and filing status, according to...

President Joe Biden is in big trouble because, since 2018, there has been a 42 point shift toward Republicans from Democrats among Hispanic voters. What makes this game-changing is because now a generic congressional candidate who’s Republican beats a generic Democratic congressional candidate by 2 points among Hispanic voters. In this episode, Larry points out how Hispanic Americans are waking up and turning against the “wokeness” pushed by the left, but will black Americans do the same?

CHICAGO, IL—After watching Larry Elder on the receiving end of racist hate crime attacks in California, a very jealous Jussie Smollett disguised himself as the California candidate for Governor in hopes that people will commit some real hate crimes against him as well. "I hope this works," said Smollett as he donned a very lifelike cardboard cutout of Larry Elder's face with eye-holes cut in it. "I've never experienced a real racist hate crime before, only fake ones. But I've always dreamed of being a part of a real one. This will be so awesome." He then took a walk...

California has gradually weaned itself off fossil fuel fracking well ahead of Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s 2024 ban of the oil and gas extraction method. The California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM), the agency that oversees new permits, has denied 109 new permits from fossil fuel firms this year, according to Department of Conservation data. State regulators have approved just 12 permits in 2021, the most recent of which came in February. Uduak-Joe Ntuk, the state’s oil and gas supervisor, said he couldn’t approve new fracking grants “in good conscience” in a September letter to the energy firm Aera Energy,...

A coalition of nearly 70 California progressive grassroots groups urged Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) either to call for the "swift passage" of both the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act by the end of this month or to resign. In a letter released on Tuesday, the 69 civic and environmental groups asked that Feinstein call for the two pieces of legislation to be passed and express her willingness to "abolish or create an exception to the filibuster" in order to get them through the Senate. "If you are unwilling to take these steps to...

Democrats are filled with fear as they view the ominous writing on the wall of losing big in the midterms, and then in 2024 as well. Biden's poll numbers are in the dumpster, and the ratings of pinch-hitter Harris are even worse. Every day brings news of yet another Democrat congressman choosing retirement over the prospect of returning to the minority. But not to worry: Morning Joe is riding to the rescue to lift Democrat spirits! Remember the show that always thought Trump's political demise was right around the corner? On Monday, the panel went out of its way to...

Charlie is joined by Dennis Prager and Larry Elder LIVE in Phoenix, Ariz. hosted by Charlie's Phoenix radio affiliate, Salem 960 AM "The Patriot." The event begins with the provocative questions: Are we headed for civil war or national divorce? What ensues is an important discussion about the values that unite or divide the American left and right, and what can be done about it. Are we able to find common ground? Or are we already in a cold civil war in which we must seek to defeat an evil ideology?

The battle over critical race theory – at its core, a “different” way of looking at race relations in the U.S. – continues to heat up. As a community organizer on the ground in a very divided Orange County, I am front and center witnessing top-down efforts to implement and fund Critical Race Theory curriculum into our local schools. I am also of Asian descent – and stand leading the charge for pushback from those who see CRT for what it really is. Critical Race Theory is, in a word, racist. While supposedly honoring the minority experience, it is condescending...

Comedian Bill Maher railed against critical race theory and woke Democrats in a far-reaching interview with Chris Cuomo Wednesday night — condemning the controversial education movement as “just virtue-signaling” and accusing liberals of being “afraid to acknowledge progress.” “It’s just something going on in the schools that never went on before,” Maher said on CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time.”

On Sunday, California gas prices rose to a record-setting high average of $4.676 per gallon for regular gasoline, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA). The previous record average price of $4.671 was set in October 2012. The Golden State is America’s largest state by population and currently has the highest gas prices in the country even as the national average dropped slightly to $3.413. One reason for the increase, AAA said, is the state’s reduced refinery production capacity due to heavy rainstorms in northern California which then trickled down the supply chain, impacting southern California similar to what happened...

Gavin Newsom was MIA for so long that people were ready to put his face on a milk carton. Nobody knew what was going on. Newsom got his COVID booster shot and then *bam* he vanished for almost 2 weeks. He missed his precious Climate Summit and the only thing his office said was that he was fulfilling “family obligations.” Gavin claims he wanted to spend “Halloween” with his kids. Um, it took 2 weeks to spend “Halloween” with his kids? Well, today, Gavin made his big “comeback” and it was bizarre and downright creepy. Gavin looks to me like...

It’s easy to blame the other side. And for many Democrats, it’s obvious that Republicans are thwarting progress toward a more equal society. But what happens when Republicans aren’t standing in the way? In many states — including California, New York and Illinois — Democrats control all the levers of power. They run the government. They write the laws. And as we explore in the video above, they often aren’t living up to their values. In key respects, many blue states are actually doing worse than red states. It is in the blue states where affordable housing is often hardest...

SAN FRANCISCO — Elections officials announced Tuesday that a recall election against San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin will appear on the ballot in June, giving residents of the politically liberal city a chance to keep or oust a polarizing figure and former public defender who has been a prosecutor for less than two years. Critics say Boudin, 41, has failed to prosecute repeat offenders, allowing them to commit more crimes that have contributed to the deterioration of the city's quality of life. His supporters say his progressive policies of ending mass incarceration and promoting restorative justice are what San...

During his first appearance since the backlash on Tuesday, Newsom said at the California Economic Summit that he canceled his trip to go trick-or-treating with his kids and assuage his dad guilt. Newsom said he was out to dinner with his family when his children held an "intervention" because they "couldn’t believe I was going to miss Halloween." He ultimately decided to stay home because the "knot" in his stomach was too much to bear.
