The dumbest sports analyst in the business today (and that's saying a lot) compared the supporters of the Tea Party to members of the Islamic State. ESPN's Tony Kornheiser, a frequent golf partner of President Obama, was interviewing Huffington Post editor Howard Fineman when the liberal editor ventured that Rep. Paul Ryan would have difficulty working with Tea Party members in the House. He said that the tea party faction of the GOP rebels “dictatorial” leaders. “Are they like ISIS trying to establish a Caliphate here?” Kornheiser asked. “Yes, yes. That’s a very good analogy,” Fineman responded. “Without the violence...

Pardon the interruption: Tony Kornheiser has been benched from "Pardon the Interruption." ESPN has banned the print, radio and TV personality from its popular "PTI" show for biting on-air comments he made last week about SportsCenter host Hannah Storm's wardrobe. Kornheiser, who has built a persona on caustic shots at a wide swath of sports figures, couldn't get away with turning his sights into ESPN's house – saying Storm dressed "like she has sausage casing wrapped around her body" and calling the 47-year-old anchor "a Holden Caulfield fantasy," referring to the protagonist in J.D. Salinger's book "The Catcher in the...

ESPN has suspended TV commentator Tony Kornheiser for remarks about fellow ESPN personality Hannah Storm, according to multiple reports Tuesday. Kornheiser, the popular host of the show "Pardon the Interruption," is known for making sports figures the subject of his humorous criticism, but in a recent show he aimed his commentary at Storm's wardrobe.

BRISTOL, CONN. (AP) —Former Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden is replacing Tony Kornheiser on ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast team. The network said Monday that Gruden will be in the booth with Mike Tirico and Ron Jaworski when the show starts its 40th season this fall. Kornheiser cited a fear of flying in his decision to leave after three years. Gruden led the Bucs to the 2003 Super Bowl title and was fired after this past season. He worked as a guest analyst this year with the NFL Network during the draft and scouting combine.

TONY KORNHEISER is living the dream of modern American journalism, having gone multiplatform long before being multiplatform was cool — or even a catchphrase. A newspaper and Internet sports columnist, radio host and sports television talker, Mr. Kornheiser is the embodiment of the new paradigm, a dream employee for every newspaper that is looking to make its journalism available across all platforms and its columnists into stars — which is to say, all newspapers. And this season, he took on one of sports journalism’s most visible slots, becoming the color commentator on “Monday Night Football,” which has moved to ESPN....

    Pardon the Interruption - ESPN
Tony Kornheiser, of ESPN and the Washington Post, is a self-confessed liberal. But on Pardon the Interruption, the TV sports talk show he co-hosts on ESPN, the balding Long Island native just struck a blow against political correctness. He said that it was newsworthy that in winning the Olympic 400 meter race, Jeremy Wariner became the first white American to win a sprint race at the Olympics since 1964. He added that when a black person wins a bobsled race, or a Chinese guy becomes a star in the NBA, that is discussed, but somehow it is taboo to mention...
