A Russian father who killed his friend after allegedly finding footage of him raping his eight-year-old girl has been released from custody amid calls not to charge him with murder. Factory worker Vyacheslav M, 34, was drinking with his friend Oleg Sviridov, 32, when he allegedly saw video of his daughter being abused on Sviridov's phone. On Tuesday, an armed man approached a patron in a Taco Bell parking lot, demanded he drop his pants, and was subsequently shot and killed. The attempted armed robbery took place in Pompano Beach, Florida. According to CBS 4, it was approximately 6 pm when “21-year-old Rontavis Holton confronted [37-year-old] Ronald Farmer” in a Taco Bell parking lot. Holton — who was “wearing a ski mask and sunglasses” — allegedly pulled a gun on Farmer and “told [him] to pull down his pants.” Farmer pulled his own gun and shot Holton in self-defense.

A former Philadelphia police officer shot and killed a knife-wielding man who tried to rob her vitamin store Monday evening, police said. Police did not release the 46-year-old shopkeeper's name, but online business records identified her as Sharon Doyle, who worked as a police officer in Philadelphia as well as Lower Makefield and Warminster Townships. She also served as a Secret Service agent from 2002 to 2004, according to a resumé posted online.

NORMANGEE — The owner of two show pigs is accused of shooting and killing his neighbor after the man apparently slaughtered the pigs, believing they were wild hogs on the loose, Leon County authorities said. Vancouver, Wash. - Police say a deadly shooting in Vancouver early Friday morning started when a homeowner confronted a man inside his garage. The shooting happened just before 2:00 a.m. in the 1800 block of S.E. 176th Place.
