Hawaii’s sourcing of news (ChinaHawaiiToday)- Suppression of information in an island state is an extremely effective tactic; Hawaii is a one newspaper state (the Star-Advertiser is the only major newspaper of the Islands). Though popular online journals as HawaiiReporter.com or multiple ethnicity based or island specific (e.g. Maui) newspapers exist, a large number of citizens in Hawaii gather much of their information from the over-arching Star-Advertiser. Such clout produces an environment wherein editors, writers, and journalists of this single source hoard influence. Here is a fun new campaign video in the 2012 GOP Republican U.S. Senate Primary for Hawaii. It was meant as a prelude to the annual 2012 Hawaiian Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner at Hilton Hawaiian Village (thus the quotes from Lincoln in body of the video). Abraham Lincoln, the founder of our party, and the President's Day's festivities were taken into account, but when I showed this to my scrutinizing kids, a 'new life' came about for the video. A Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) campaign source confirmed to The Hill late Tuesday that the longtime congressman will not be endorsing Christine O'Donnell. The Tea Party-backed O'Donnell defeated Castle for Delaware's Republican Senate nomination. After the stunning primary loss, Castle's campaign also said the longtime congressman is not interested in waging a write in bid this November. In Alaska, Sen Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is contemplating an independent write in campaign after she lost to Tea Party backed Joe Miller in the August GOP primary.
