MSNBC host Joe Scarborough on Friday blamed White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon for President Trump's decision to back out of the Paris climate accord, saying that the move signals that Bannon "is now the president of the United States." "Time Magazine was right. Steve Bannon is president of the United States," Scarborough said on his show "Morning Joe."

In a brief tirade on 'Morning Joe' today, Joe Scarborough made it clear that, in his mind, the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord proved that Steve Bannon was back in the saddle in the West Wing. "TIME magazine was right: Steve Bannon is the president of the United States." "He has gone in. Donald Trump doesn't know anything about policy. Donald Trump doesn't know anything about politics. Donald Trump doesn't know anything about anything. He can get up and give a good speech. You listen to him talk about any topic and he wanders from sentence to sentence...

Of course he is... I longer Scarborough can keep up the I’m-a-Republican-but-this-all-troubles-me-so-much schtick. Scarborough is first and foremost a creature of the Beltway culture. His party affiliation is hardly worth a footnote given that his job is to cater to mindset of the political class. Now, normal people (present company included) will offer no excuses for Greg Gianforte’s assault of a journalist, regardless of how obnoxious the guy’s behavior may have been, or how much we may think the journalism profession in general deserves one big body slam. There’s no excuse for it. No one will make any.

Joe Scarborough has painted a no-win portrait of VP Pence. On today’s Morning Joe, Scarborough said that Vice-President Pence “is either a sucker and a dupe for Donald Trump . . . or he’s a liar. There is no middle ground.” Giving Pence the dubious benefit of the doubt, Scarborough advised, “if it is the first, I think it’s about time for Mike Pence to go to Donald Trump and say, as I think most of us would, if you set me up to be your liar again, I’m walking.” View the video here.

Earlier this month, Joe Scarborough compared President Trump to his own mother, “who has had dementia for ten years.” Joe was back on his Trump-is-crazy beat on today’s Morning Joe. After Mika cited a Washington Post article quoting an anonymous source who wondered whether President Trump “is in the grip of some kind of paranoid delusion,” Joe weighed in, saying he’s heard reports all weekend that “the president is running around, screaming at television sets. Well, Thursday provided another example as CNN issued a statement disguised as an editorial, blasting President Donald Trump for comments he made about liberal CNN hosts Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon as “beneath the dignity of the office of the President." Reported by Reliable Sources host Brian Stelter, he filled the role of network stenographer: "CNN says President Trump's latest anti-media attacks "are beneath the dignity of the office of the President." On today’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough said he didn’t want to bring religion into the health care debate. But he then proceeded to do just that. At the beginning of the primary season, the Huffington Post infamously consigned coverage of Donald Trump's campaign to its entertainment section. So it was striking that on today's Morning Joe, it was HuffPo's Sam Stein who chided his fellow liberals for refusing to acknowledge the obvious: that President Trump gave a good speech last night [see Stein's tweet, below.] Stein's take was echoed across the panel.
