MSNBC host Joe Scarborough on Friday blamed White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon for President Trump's decision to back out of the Paris climate accord, saying that the move signals that Bannon "is now the president of the United States." "Time Magazine was right. Steve Bannon is president of the United States," Scarborough said on his show "Morning Joe."

In a brief tirade on 'Morning Joe' today, Joe Scarborough made it clear that, in his mind, the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord proved that Steve Bannon was back in the saddle in the West Wing. "TIME magazine was right: Steve Bannon is the president of the United States." "He has gone in. Donald Trump doesn't know anything about policy. Donald Trump doesn't know anything about politics. Donald Trump doesn't know anything about anything. He can get up and give a good speech. You listen to him talk about any topic and he wanders from sentence to sentence...

Of course he is... I longer Scarborough can keep up the I’m-a-Republican-but-this-all-troubles-me-so-much schtick. Scarborough is first and foremost a creature of the Beltway culture. His party affiliation is hardly worth a footnote given that his job is to cater to mindset of the political class. Now, normal people (present company included) will offer no excuses for Greg Gianforte’s assault of a journalist, regardless of how obnoxious the guy’s behavior may have been, or how much we may think the journalism profession in general deserves one big body slam. There’s no excuse for it. No one will make any.

Joe Scarborough has painted a no-win portrait of VP Pence. On today’s Morning Joe, Scarborough said that Vice-President Pence “is either a sucker and a dupe for Donald Trump . . . or he’s a liar. There is no middle ground.” Giving Pence the dubious benefit of the doubt, Scarborough advised, “if it is the first, I think it’s about time for Mike Pence to go to Donald Trump and say, as I think most of us would, if you set me up to be your liar again, I’m walking.” View the video here.

Earlier this month, Joe Scarborough compared President Trump to his own mother, “who has had dementia for ten years.” Joe was back on his Trump-is-crazy beat on today’s Morning Joe. After Mika cited a Washington Post article quoting an anonymous source who wondered whether President Trump “is in the grip of some kind of paranoid delusion,” Joe weighed in, saying he’s heard reports all weekend that “the president is running around, screaming at television sets. He’s increasingly isolated.” Joe then upped the ante, adding that there are “reports at his club that he’s going off, detached. Almost detached from reality.”...

Not convinced the media is the opposition party yet? Well, Thursday provided another example as CNN issued a statement disguised as an editorial, blasting President Donald Trump for comments he made about liberal CNN hosts Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon as “beneath the dignity of the office of the President." Reported by Reliable Sources host Brian Stelter, he filled the role of network stenographer: "CNN says President Trump's latest anti-media attacks "are beneath the dignity of the office of the President." "In an interview with Time magazine, Trump insulted CNN's Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon and criticized MSNBC's Joe Scarborough....

On today’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough said he didn’t want to bring religion into the health care debate. But he then proceeded to do just that. He said that he’s not judging anybody, but then said that the Republican health care bill can’t be defended “morally.” Scarborough: “I’m sorry, don’t want to bring religion into this, but if you are a Matthew 25 Christian and you believe what Jesus says, that we will be judged on how we treat the poorest among us, then there is no legislative justification for cutting $650 billion in health benefits. And then turning around...

In the cold open of the May 6th broadcast, NBC's Saturday Night Live took on its own network property, MSNBC morning political talk show Morning Joe. Alex Moffat's Joe Scarborough used couple nicknames like "Mika mouse" and "Mika boo" throughout the segment to refer to his fiance and Morning Joe while panel regulars expressed how uncomfortable they were by the closeness of the hosts. (Panelists included Mike Barnicle, Mark Halperin and Willie Geist.) VIDEO at link...

The first couple of cable news, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, are engaged to be married, sources have exclusively confirmed to Page Six. The MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-hosts got engaged this past weekend during a romantic trip to the south of France and Monaco to celebrate Brzezinski’s 50th birthday.

Looks like President Trump’s dropping of the MOAB might have had an even bigger impact on Morning Joe than it did on ISIS. In March, the show was in full Apocalypse Now mode about President Trump. Take this excerpt from my item of March 6th: “Joe and Mika waxed apocalyptic, claiming the country is ‘in crisis’ and questioning President Trump’s ‘stability.’ At one point, Mika even seemed to choke up as she said, ‘this is really a dark time which could get worse.’” Cut to today, when, in the wake of foreign policy success on the Russia, China, Syria and...
  • Flashback: Wannabe POTUS Adviser Joe Scarborough Told GOP To Ditch Candidate Trump

Chris Buskirk at American Greatness reminds readers of MSNBC host Joe Scarborough getting the 2016 election completely wrong, buying into conventional wisdom that candidate Donald Trump was toast. Scarborough is currently on the warpath against Trump’s campaign CEO Steve Bannon, with day-to-day rants portraying the White House chief strategist as incompetent or mentally unstable. From American Greatness: Before the election Scarborough repeatedly warned Republicans to cut and run from their nominee. In August, he gravely warned that for Republicans the election is “about saving the Senate, it’s about not getting wiped out in the House, it’s about not getting wiped...

Monday on Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough, along with the other panelists, attempted to diagnose President Trump with a mental disorder. The discussion began after a clip was played of Trump walking out of a signing. Scarborough repeatedly asked his co host, Mika Brzezinski, “What just happened?”. This catapulted into Scarborough explaining: “We had our misgivings about him. But I think it's safe to say neither you nor I thought it would be this bad.” Scarborough continued this discussion expressing: “We were concerned – really, really concerned. Never thought though that the guy that we've known for 10, 11, 12...
  • Scarborough: MSM Ignoring Unmasking Of Trump Aides by Obama Admin

On today’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough argued that the MSM is failing to cover the story of the Obama admin “unmasking”and leaking the names of Trump campaign people caught up in the intercepts of Russians. According to Scarborough, 95% of the story is the attempt by the Russians to influence the election. But that still leaves the 5% that the MSM is ignoring because the people unmasked were disliked, and in the case of Michael Flynn, “loathed” by the media, whereas the improper activity was “by people who, let’s face it, most of the people in the media like and...

Joe Scarborough spent the first half-hour of today’s Morning Joe blasting White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon for the failure of the health care bill. Excerpts: “I will call Steve Bannon a hack. When you go in and threaten members, you’re not only a hack, you’re stupid at your game . . . Bannon failed miserably. He is the biggest loser.” “The stupidity of Steve Bannon knows no end.” “He’s an idiot when it comes to how Washington works.” “He blew this.” View the video here.

Should conservatives be rooting for the health care bill to pass the House today, or be defeated or withdrawn? Joe Scarborough made an interesting observation today, quoting the late Senator Paul Simon at the end of his career on the biggest lesson he had learned: "sometimes when you win, you lose. And sometimes when you lose, you win." Scarborough pointed to the way Democrats whooped it up when they "won" on Obamacare in 2010 . . . and proceeded to experience six years of political "hell," losing 1,000 seats across the country. Opined Scarborough, "I think the best thing that...

Joe Scarborough has suggested that—in order to change the headlines and “blow up” the House investigation into ties between the Trump campaign and Russians—the White House “shoved” House intel committee chairman Devin Nunes in front of the cameras to reveal that communications of President Trump and associates may have been intercepted after the election by intelligence agencies conducting surveillance of foreign targets. Said Scarborough on today’s Morning Joe: “it just looked like, and sounded like from some reporting I did yesterday, that you had the White House desperate to do anything to change headlines this morning, because, again, from the...

At the beginning of the primary season, the Huffington Post infamously consigned coverage of Donald Trump's campaign to its entertainment section. So it was striking that on today's Morning Joe, it was HuffPo's Sam Stein who chided his fellow liberals for refusing to acknowledge the obvious: that President Trump gave a good speech last night [see Stein's tweet, below.] Stein's take was echoed across the panel. Mark Halperin called it Trump's best speech ever, an assessment shared by Chris Cillizza. Joe Scarborough, who has been very tough on Stephen Miller, gave him high marks for writing such a good speech....

Joe Scarborough went on an epic rant this morning against liberal academia and the way it shuts down and ultimately radicalizes conservative students who grow frustrated with being stifled in the classroom. The segment began as an effort to explain Stephen Miller’s personality, as Morning Joe cited a column by Andrew Sullivan in which he speaks of conservative students who are often “mocked, isolated, and anathematized on campus” and often react by adopting “brattish and obnoxious positions just to tick off their SJW peers and teachers.” Scarborough took it from there, growing increasingly inflamed as he described his personal experiences...

On Monday, the hosts of Morning Joe mocked and berated White House adviser Stephen Miller for his recent comments regarding the court ruling against President Trump's immigration order. Tuesday morning was no different, as the show came back from a commercial break by airing a distorted, grainy black-and-white video of Miller. The video contained the statement he gave on the network Sunday shows concerning the President’s executive powers and spliced Miller’s quotes attempting to make him look sinister and menacing. After the video concluded, host Joe Scarborough declared, “Wow,” and journalist Willie Geist agreed, “That’s terrifying.” Co-host Mika Brzezinski agreed...

Morning Joe came down with a bad case of the vapors this morning, clutching its collective pearls [to mix metaphors] over President Trump’s comments about the court currently hearing the case on the executive order on immigration. Jon Meacham said that Trump was “messing with the Magna Carta,” of all things! Joe Scarborough upped the anxiety ante, saying “the historical precedents are chilling. I don’t even want to mention their names, but some of the dangerous autocrats of the 20th century, their two goals were to, first, undermine an independent judiciary and, second, to undermine a free press.” Gee, wonder...
