The U.S. Postal Service issued a new limited edition "Forever" stamp Tuesday, honoring the late poet, author and civil rights champion Maya Angelou, but it carries a quote that apparently originated elsewhere.

WASHINGTON - Power outages left many wondering who turned out the lights in D.C. on Tuesday-- including OprahWinfrey. The power went off at D.C.'s Warner Theatre, right in the middle of Ms. Winfrey's speech honoring Maya Angelou. Winfrey was part of the dedication ceremony of a new U.S. Postal Service Forever Stamp that honors Angelou. "I am honored to be here to stand her as her daughter, sister-friend at the unveiling of the Maya Forever-- FOREVER-- stamp," Winfrey said, and then the lights went out.

Maya Angelou was known for her inspirational and thought-provoking quotes, so it's only fitting that a stamp commemorating her features one. The United States Postal Service (USPS) has colluded with the family of the late poet Maya Angelou to steal a quote from a white eighty nine year old children’s book writer named Joan Walsh Anglund to make the new Angelou stamp look good.
