Black Ministers: Remove Bust of Racist Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger From National Portrait Gallery The conflict between a national group of black ministers and the Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery (NPG) is heating up over the pastors’ call for the removal of a bust and all images of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger – a known racist and eugenicist – from the gallery. Ministers Taking a Stand, led by president Bishop E.W. Jackson, a Marine Corps veteran, retired attorney, graduate of Harvard Law School, and senior fellow for the Family Research Council, sent a letter last week to Kim...

Just got home from the local Ted Cruz rally. The event was sold out and I lost count of how many standing ovations there were. We had really good seats close to the front just right of center stage. Cruz was on message and I must say he is even more impressive in person than on T.V. I was interviewed by the local T.V. station WBBJ T.V. I am waiting on the 10 o'clock news. I'm sure there were many people interviewed, so I don't know if I will actually be on the newscast, but the whole evening was a...

The East Oregonian reported that Palmer opened an envelope addressed to him at the sheriff's office in Canyon City. The envelope contained a white substance and Palmer quickly developed a rash on his arms.

Out of Twitter’s 2,910 U.S. employees, only 49 (1.7 percent) are black, and that fact has black activists led by Rev. Jesse Jackson racing to condemn the company. Jackson, who has been pressuring tech companies for years to hire more blacks, told The Guardian black Americans are “becoming intolerant” of Twitter’s slow growth in diversity.

Last month Matt Vespa covered the story of Democrats in Virginia who were talking about changing the name of their annual Jefferson Jackson dinner because of the Dylan Roof shooting or the Confederate Battle Flag or racism or something. That may have sounded rather silly at the time, but it’s turned out to be prophetic. Democrats in Connecticut also have an annual dinner named after the same prominent early Americans – as with their fellows across the nation – and have made the decision to change the name. (Because who would want to be associated with those guys, right?)...

Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson are history in Connecticut. Under pressure from the NAACP, the state Democratic Party will scrub the names of the two presidents from its annual fundraising dinner because of their ties to slavery. Party leaders voted unanimously Wednesday night in Hartford to rename the Jefferson Jackson Bailey dinner in the aftermath of last month’s fatal shooting of nine worshipers at the historic black church in Charleston, S.C.

TEKONSHA, MI — L.G. Rogers ran outside of his home on 13 Mile Road in Tekonsha Township Tuesday morning, certain he would find some kind of explosion. Dishes and knick knacks rattled with the noise, though none fell or broke. "I run outdoors because I thought it was an explosion of some kind," Rogers said as he and his wife Joan ate lunch in downtown Tekonsha. Rogers later learned the noise was from an earthquake whose epicenter was on 12 1/2 Mile Road, surprisingly close to their home. He described what he heard as "a giant booming sound." And he...

Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew is set to announce on Thursday that the Bureau of Engraving and Printing will remove Alexander Hamilton from the ten dollar bill, in favor of a woman. The change could happen as soon as 2020. The announcement came via Nancy Lindborg, president of the US Institute of Peace, who tweeted out the news.... ...The choice to replace Hamilton on the $10 bill as opposed to President Jackson on the $20 bill is a curious one. There were clear reasons to replace Jackson on the bill. Jackson has long been reputed as a deeply flawed...

Father Michael Pfleger was heckled on Thursday by pro-gun advocates while he gave a message at the St. George Catholic Church in Tinley Park, Illinois. Pro-gun hecklers booed Pfleger and claimed he was violating their rights, noted WGN-TV (video below). According to CBS Chicago, the Illinois State Rifle Association urged its members to show up at what it called a gun control recruitment event at the church. "I'm neither a gun-grabber, nor am I against the Second Amendment. I want people who own guns to be held responsible for the guns that they own," Pfleger stated in the church to...

Second Amendment supporters were disappointed yesterday when the Supreme Court refused to hear the appeal of a preliminary injunction in the case Jackson v.  San Francisco.   The preliminary injunction asked that the lower court ban the enforcement of the local ordinance in San Francisco while the case was being heard.  From scotusblog.com: Raising significant new questions about how much protection the Constitution’s Second Amendment actually gives to gun owners, the Supreme Court on Monday left intact a local ordinance that restricts access to guns even within one’s own home.   The denial of review drew a fervent dissent from two...
