IRS Increases 'Marriage Penalty,' Designated Cohabitants To Get 2 X 3, Prior Mortgage Interest Deduction rates Significant tax hits that come with getting hitched, or as they’ve collectively been coined, the “marriage penalty.” For example, the 28% tax bracket kicks in at $45,577 each income for single, but at only $75,595 for taxpayers declared gander married pairs. In addition, single taxpayers to lose 3% of itemized deductions. In updated, AOD 2016-02, the IRS acquiesced in the Ninth Circuit’s decision in Sophy v. A federal court ruled Friday that the Internal Revenue Service has not yet demonstrated that officials stopped targeting Tea Party groups in a decision that excoriated the tax agency for its "discriminatory" treatment of conservative organizations. "This is a blistering rebuke to the IRS and its defenders," Walter Olson, senior fellow at the Cato Institute Center for Constitutional Studies, said of the court's ruling. "It takes on squarely the defense the IRS had raised in this case which is, 'Whatever happened, we promise not to do it again.'" "The court goes through and systematically takes that apart in a way...

The “October Surprise” this election cycle may come not from one of the presidential candidates, but from an unlikely source – the Internal Revenue Service.  The ramifications of such a move are all bad, especially for conservative-oriented groups, and will reverberate far beyond any one candidate or political party.  Whether the Congress has the backbone to head off this IRS attack on free speech is very much an open question; a spending restriction placed earlier on IRS funding is set to expire at the end of this Fiscal Year – September 30th – just in time for an October Surprise....

According to Federal Election Commission records , Bosserman contributed $6,750 to Obama campaigns and the DNC from 2004 to 2012, including 12 separate contributions to Obama for America between 2008 and 2012. The Obama Justice Department and FBI investigations into the Obama IRS scandal...

Full title: Judicial Watch: FBI 2013 Interviews with Cincinnati Officials Reveal Orchestrated IRS Policy of Burying Tea Party Tax Exemption Applications Leading Up to Obama Reelection ‘DC is like a black hole.’ – Cincinnati Group Manager (Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released 105 pages of newly obtained Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) “302” documents revealing that, beginning in 2010 and lasting through the Obama reelection campaign in 2012, the IRS orchestrated an apparently deliberate policy of burying conservative groups’ tax exemption applications in bureaucratic delays. Interviews with numerous Cincinnati IRS employees in mid-2013 reveal that “Tea Party” group applications...

"Clinton Cash" author, Peter Schweizer, recently took to the airwaves to explain why the IRS investigation of the Clinton Foundation should be a "big deal" (also see Clinton Cash: "Devastating" Documentary Reveals How Clintons Went From "Dead Broke" To Mega Wealthy") even though he expressed some "skepticism" over the ability of Obama's IRS to run an impartial investigation. As we we've reported (see "IRS Launches Investigation Of Clinton Foundation"), the IRS recently launched an investigation of the Clinton Foundation after receiving a letter signed by 64 Republicans of the House of Representative which described the Clinton Foundation as a “lawless...

CHICAGO Friday, July 29, 2016 Lerner-led IRS investigation didn't deter West Suburban Patriots WASHINGTON - Thursday, the legal group Liberty Counsel released FBI investigation findings that the IRS - while being led by the former IRS Chairman Lois Lerner - began intensifying their efforts against conservative groups with a Tea Party or Patriot connection in 2011. That meant that when a question was planted from the audience at a 2013 conference, the IRS' strategy to discourage the Tea Party movement had been in place for two years. West Suburban Patriots was among several Illinois groups that began getting questions from...

News recently broke that Hillary Clinton’s foundation is under IRS investigation, and at least part of that investigation centers on two companies. House Republicans reported that Laureate Education and Uranium One have payed out (in the tens of millions) to the Clinton Foundation and in return have received legitimate government benefits (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: IRS Launches Investigation Of Clinton Foundation). The Russian Atomic Energy Agency, Rosatom, purchased in January 2005 a Canadian company — UrAsia — with uranium stakes stretching from Central Asia to Western America, reports the New York Times. This purchase made the Russian agency one of the largest...

The IRS confirmed in a letter it is looking into claims of “pay-to-play” practices at the Clinton Foundation, after dozens of Republican lawmakers requested a review of potential “criminal conduct” at the organization founded by the family at the center of this week’s Democratic National Convention. Commissioner John Koskinen wrote in a July 22 letter to Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn that the issue has been “forwarded” to the IRS “Exempt Organizations Examinations” program in Dallas. “This program considers all referrals and will send you a separate acknowledgement letter when it receives your information,” he wrote, in a letter first reported...

Poor Hillary! Apparently the IRS is just another sexist cog in the vast right wing conspiracy Hillary’s having a rough week. Not only are Trump’s poll numbers climbing, the DNC email leak is overshadowing her convention and now she’s going to have to deal with another investigation. This time it’s the IRS that’s digging into the Clinton’s affairs, by way of their shady slush fund charitable foundation. As the Daily Caller reports in an exclusive:

Amidst polls showing her lead over GOP rival Donald Trump dwindling, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned voters against “the most divisive and unfit candidate in our nation’s history.” A key consideration from Clinton’s perspective is the fact that “Republican voters passed over 16 worthy representatives of the GOP brand and latched onto a man outside the mainstream of government. Trump hasn’t been a participant in any of the processes for governing a city, state, or nation. He has no record to run on.” Hillary contrasted Trump’s lack of governing experience with her own “30-year career at the center...

A new congressional letter circulating among lawmakers charges the William, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation is a “lawless, ‘Pay-to-Play’ enterprise that has been operating under a cloak of philanthropy for years.” The letter, obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation, is authored by Tennessee Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn who plans to send it to FBI Director James Comey, Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen and Federal Trade Commission chairwoman Edith Ramirez. Job terminated as of June 30. Final paycheck is for 6 weeks pay. Normal FITW bi-weekly at this salary is $0. Since 6 weeks are posted in 2 week timeframe the FITW is $289. Employer claims i.r.s. forces them to do this on severance pay. I think that's a lie. Do I have to wait until I file in April next year to get back this $289 theft of funds? Can payroll company be forced to disperse final check amount and withhold based on a larger than 2-week window? Has any freeeper seen this or know better ? Thanks.

In the terminal collapse of the Roman Empire, there was perhaps no greater burden to the average citizen than the extreme taxes they were forced to pay. The tax ‘reforms’ of Emperor Diocletian in the 3rd century were so rigid and unwavering that many people were driven to starvation and bankruptcy. The state went so far as to chase around widows and children to collect taxes owed. By the 4th century, the Roman economy and tax structure were so dismal that many farmers abandoned their lands in order to receive public entitlements. At this point, the imperial government was spending...
