Sec. of Defense James Mattis, known for his frank quotes about the realities of war, offered up a line befitting his nickname, “Mad Dog,” during an interview airing Sunday. “What keeps you awake at night?” CBS “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson asked Mattis. “Nothing,” a stonefaced Mattis responded. “I keep other people awake at night.” WATCH: (Video) Mattis’ remark is sure to join a long list of the former Marine general’s most memorable quotes. “When you men get home and face an anti-war protester, look at him in the eyes and shake his hand. Then, wink at his girlfriend

Maximum CNN There’s a question that Democrats love to ask whenever they don’t control the White House. Kids are, as we’ve been told a thousand times, our most precious national resource. It takes a village to raise them. So, whenever they’re faced with the horrors of a Republican President, Dems want to know: What are the children thinking? Oh, woe. Woe to the children! They’re being forced to live through the Trump presidency! The guy has only been in office a few months, and already the scars are piling up. One wonders how they can even sleep at night, knowing...

The Danish cartoon controversy prompted a spectacular failure of will and principle in the West, the commentator tells Quadrant. 'First they come for the cartoonists, ultimately they move on to everybody else. The provocations ... get lamer and lamer. We are losing our world.' I’m cruising down New England country lanes that criss-cross towns that look like Norman Rockwell theme parks—on my way to find Mark Steyn—but I’m not allowed to tell you exactly where I am. My destination is the equivalent of a military bunker—a hidden television studio where, later today, they’ll be installing the concert grand piano Steyn...

President Donald Trump, in an exclusive interview Thursday with NBC News' Lester Holt, called ousted FBI chief James Comey a "showboat" and revealed he asked Comey whether he was under investigation for alleged ties to Russia. "I actually asked him" if I were under investigation, Trump said, noting that he spoke with Comey once over dinner and twice by phone. "I said, if it's possible would you let me know, 'Am I under investigation?' He said, 'You are not under investigation.'"

Yesterday was apparently “Equal Pay Day!†but only in New York City. Similar to Tax Freedom Day, the actual Equal Pay Day was back on April 4th and was described as how far into 2017 women would supposedly have to work on average to earn the same amount of money a man in the same job would have made in 2016. (If you really want to tick off anyone celebrating this event, send them to read the Wikipedia Background section on the subject, which actually pegs it pretty well.)The somewhat delayed holiday was observed in New York City in...

Last year I did an interview with two communist militants in a Chicago Mall Food Court entitled Coffee With Communists, WHO THEY ARE WHY THEY KILL The two were part of a little known Marxist street gang known as Anti-racist Action or Antifa. These disgusting animals wanted to kill Americans and bragged that they had killed Americans, namely veterans. Their message to America, revolution was coming and that those who opposed socialism and opposed their agenda would be violently killed. In the past week Antifa made headlines and is no longer under the radar. In Berkeley and in other cities,...

Again with the same question? If you want to know why people hold the mainstream media in such low regard, here you go: You’ve got an opportunity to interview the president of the United States, in the Oval Office. You could ask him about health care, energy policy, North Korea, Iran, taxes, spending . . . anything you want. So what does John Dickerson decide to ask him about? See for yourself:

Vladimir Putin has been one of the most talked about figures in Russia, and now Showtime is about to release “The Putin Interviews,†a new documentary series where he will sit down for a talk with famed director Oliver Stone.  This is a project Stone has been working on for two years, traveling to Moscow and Sochi more than a dozen times to speak with the Prime Minister of Russia. The trailer shows his most recent talk with Putin this past February, where he gets right down to brass tacks and asks the question every Hillary Clinton supporter...

A rogue nation targeted a multinational corporation and won. North Korea has almost certainly ordered the massive cyber-attack on Sony Pictures, stealing and publicly dumping enough data to make a dent in the company’s stock price. North Korea cannot challenge the United States militarily, despite what movies have portrayed. Regardless of their saber-rattling, and America’s reduced presence on the Korean peninsula, a real attack of any substance against our ally South Korea (or Japan for that matter) would bring a suicidal level of retribution on the North, and they know it. But they’ve found a vein where they can draw...

The 60 Minutes segment on fake news said some mean stuff about me and that’s OK. The segment was hard-but-fair. I can self-promote on my own and expect journalists to hit me hard when appropriate. (Watch the 60 Minutes segment here.) Scott Pelley and I sparred for over 45 minutes. As the 60 Minutes episode was their highest rated since 2008 (when Barack and Michelle Obama appeared), the people have demanded to see the full interview. Here is the transcript of my interview with Scott Pelley of 60 Minutes on fake news. Scott Pelley: How would you describe what you...

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's scientific integrity watchdog is reviewing whether EPA chief Scott Pruitt violated the agency's policies when he said in a television interview he does not believe carbon dioxide is driving global climate change, according to an email seen by Reuters on Friday. Lawyers for environmental group the Sierra Club had asked the EPA's Office of Inspector General to check whether Pruitt violated policy when he told a CNBC interviewer on March 9, "I would not agree that it's a primary contributor to the global warming that we see." The EPA Inspector General's office responded to the...

Actor Richard Dreyfuss says he made a mistake in voting for Hillary Clinton in 2016, but that didn’t mean he had nice things to say about President Donald Trump. In an interview Tuesday on Fox News’ Your World with Neil Cavuto, the Oscar-winning actor and star of the new FOX show Shots Fired said he did vote for Clinton “and I regret it.” “Because Hillary is too much of a bought-and-paid-for Wall Street…” Dreyfuss explained, trailing off. When asked about tax reform and the president’s proposed defense budget spending increases, Dreyfuss replied by calling Trump an “idiot” who should not...

Beauty and the Beast star Emma Watson is an outspoken feminist and defender of gender equality. But, to her, that doesn’t include championing the rights of unborn baby girls (or boys). Vanity Fair recently filmed Watson giving advice remotely through an iPad at New York's Grand Central Station. For just two dollars, the magazine’s “man on the street” Derek Blasberg promised commuters that the 26-year-old actress would answer any question. And that she did. Watson offered advice on everything from relationships to New York City sightseeing. One young man praised Watson’s “HeForShe” gender equality campaign as “very inspiring” in her...

In an interview with ABC News that aired earlier this week, President Donald Trump complained to anchor David Muir about the mainstream media’s lack of coverage for the March of Life. When Mr. Muir asked if Mr. Trump could hear the protesters from the progressive Women’s March on Washington from the White House, Mr. Trump responded, saying: “No, I couldn’t hear them. The crowds were large, but you will have a large crowd on Friday, too, which is mostly pro-life people. You’re going to have a lot of people coming on Friday. And I will say this, and I didn’t...
