Paging CNN president Chris Licht. Do you remember the request you made last June that your personnel not use the highly partisan term "The Big Lie" to describe skepticism about the conduct of the 2020 election? Well, perhaps you need to emphasize that request again to the Sunday host of CNN's Inside Politics, Abby Phillip, who repeated that phrase you frowned upon not once but twice in just a little over a minute and a half. The total number of times "The Big Lie" was invoked on Sunday was actually three since the Washington Post White House Bureau Chief also...
  • VIDEO: Pete Buttigieg Has ZERO Percent Black Support

VIDEO On Sunday's September 29 "Inside Politics," host John King completely overlooked what should have been a YUUUUUGE political story, namely that Mayor Pete Buttigieg has ZERO percent black support in South Carolina (and probably elsewhere). So how did he miss such a big story? Probably because he was almost totally focused on an impeachment fable based on second hand whistleblower information (i.e. RUMOR). Congratulations, John King, for allowing impeachment fever to completely blind you to what should have been a very significant political story.
  • CNN Still Bashing Trump for Iraq Visit, Not Meeting PM; Only Footnotes Obama Similarities

Along with Jim AcostaÂ’s near-daily antics, Wednesday and Thursday served as another example of how far too many at CNN need to be told to get a life. ThursdayÂ’s Inside Politics led off with more kvetching about every aspect of President Donald TrumpÂ’s surprise visit to U.S. troops in Germany and Iraq, including how he didnÂ’t meet with the Iraqi Prime Minister. Conveniently, the panel downplayed the broader and positive symbolism of having a President visit troops and footnoted the similarities between Trump and predecessor Barack Obama in not meeting face-to-face with Iraqi leaders. CNN Still Bashing Trump for Iraq...
  • CNN, MSNBC Shamefully Blame Climate Change for Harvey, Knock Poor Trump Voters as Houston Floods

While there have been only a smattering of climate change references since Hurricane Harvey took over news cycles, CNN and MSNBC featured more shameful exploitations of the hurricane on Monday to promote climate change as thousands were in need of help from rising flood waters. Perhaps most notably, one New York Times writer on MSNBC knocked the President, questioning his motives for recovery efforts, and used climate change to make a class argument that the poor and especially poor Trump voters are disproportionately going to be targeted by it. CNN, MSNBC Shamefully Blame Climate Change for Harvey, Knock Poor Trump...
  • Never Satisfied: CNN Lambastes Trump for New Charlottesville Remarks

Seconds after President Trump’s Monday remarks finally calling out the KKK, neo-Nazis, and white supremacists by name, CNN hosts and panelists made clear that there was nothing Trump could have said that would have satisfied them, excoriating him for not going far enough and announcing “policy in terms of addressing this.” Inside Politics aired during and immediately after the President’s statement and Bloomberg’s Margaret Talev got the first crack, slamming Trump for not doing “outreach to people not white or who might feel that they were on the victimized end of the message that the protesters were carrying.”Never Satisfied: CNN...
  • CNN Panel Whines: Trump ‘Whiffed’ Statement on North Korea Launch, too Reserved

News broke late Saturday night that North Korea launched a missile in a show of force during the Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to the United States. During a quickly put together media event PM Shinzo Abe spoke first to condemn the launch and was backed up with a brief statement of support from President Donald Trump. But that wasn’t enough for CNN’s Inside Politics, whose Nia-Malika Henderson proclaimed, “He has talked tough, I think Trump, on Twitter about North Korea, but when it got to his time to be that tough person that we've come to know, he just kind...
  • CNN’s Henry Misrepresents Personal Accounts Polls

Claims public ‘doesn’t support private accounts,’ but facts show otherwise. Even as President Bush endorsed a new Social Security plan that didn’t focus on personal accounts, poor coverage of the reform issue continued. This time, it was CNN’s Ed Henry claiming that people don’t support personal accounts even though that isn’t the case. According to Henry, on the June 21, 2005, “Inside Politics,” “We see polls across the board saying that the public by and large doesn’t support private accounts.” Henry didn’t cite any of the polls showing this overwhelming opposition. Henry didn’t even bother to quote from the skewed...

Major outlets ignore Democratic Congressman’s Social Security proposal that would raise the payroll tax.The major media have largely ignored a Democratic tax increase proposal launched this week that would place new tax burdens on workers and employers. NBC, CBS, The New York Times and The Washington Post ignored or glossed over the first Social Security plan from a Democrat, who declared that raising the payroll tax would bail out the system. Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Fla.) came forward on May 16, 2005, with his plan to “fix” Social Security’s shortfall by raising payroll taxes. NBC and CBS completely ignored the development....

FLASH: JUDY WOODRUFF LEAVES CNN This message was just sent on CNN's internal messaging system: "To my colleagues and friends at CNN: I've decided to leave daily journalism after 30 years, 12 of them at this network. I've had challenging and exciting opportunities, been supported by an amazing and talented group of people, and made lifelong friends. I wish them the very best. I'm discussing several long-form projects in television. I'll also teach, do some writing and be an occasional consultant and contributor to CNN. To all of you at CNN who have been so wonderful to me, I can't...
  • Just now on CNN Inside Politics: What in the world is Judy Woodruff talking about?

I have often seen occasions on many mainstream media broadcasts when commentators and news journalists give a particular spin on current events, but something I just saw on CNN's Inside Politics with Judy Woodruff bordered on the truly outrageous. In beginning an interview with Tad Devine, a senior Kerry campaign advisor, Judy Woodruff said something to the effect that "with the latest polls in the battleground states seeming to break in your candidate's direction (Kerry's direction), what do you see coming up on election day?" I have been watching the polls as carefully as anyone, especially the summaries of recent...
