President Obama’s top official responsible for vetting refugees testified before the Senate Wednesday that it’s possible for people from Syria and other terrorist-infested countries to have their refugee applications approved based simply on personal interviews with a “highly trained” immigration officer. Leon Rodriguez, director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, could not deny that in many cases there is no data from the refugee’s home country that would corroborate or refute his story. He tried to reassure the committee by saying the screening process is lengthy and continuously being improved, noting that the United Nations pre-screens the refugees before his...

The U.S. Department of Justice won’t release the names of attorneys whose conduct in a high-profile immigration case was called “unseemly and unprofessional” by a federal judge, or whether those attorneys will face internal disciplinary action. The DOJ says it “emphatically” disagrees with Judge Andrew Hanen’s May order in State of Texas, et al. v. United States of America, et al., in which he wrote that he was “disappointed” that the court even had to address the subject of lawyer behavior when it has “many more pressing matters on its docket.” Hanen concluded that DOJ attorneys “effectively misled” the plaintiff...

Jeremy Corbyn will commit Labour to fighting the next election on a platform of continued open door immigration from Europe, as controlling numbers can “fan the flames of fear” and make it “more difficult to take a holiday in Europe” for the middle classes. The leader of the opposition is reportedly “relaxed” about record levels of immigration, and “it is not an objective to reduce the numbers, to reduce immigration” his spokesman told Sky News.

Leading libertarian thinker Charles Murray is now urging a halt to the immigration of lower-skilled workers, because the cutoff of extra labor may persuade employers and political leaders to revive declining communities of lower-skilled Americans. “I have had to undergo a great deal of rethinking on all of this this year… [now] I want to shut down low-skill immigration for a while,” Charles Murray told a D.C. event hosted by the Center for Immigration Studies. “The thing that has gotten to me over this year … has been the very simple idea that the citizens of a nation owe something...

Republican candidate Donald Trump said, incorrectly, during Monday night's presidential debate that the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a federal law enforcement agency, had just endorsed him. Since government agencies cannot issue endorsements, Mr. Trump was likely referring to the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, a union representing some 5,000 immigration officers, which backed Trump in a campaign announcement Monday morning. The latest show of support adds to Trump's endorsements from other law enforcement unions, including the National Border Patrol Council, which represents some 16,500 immigration officers, and the Fraternal Order of Police, which represents about 330,000 officers nationwide.

There is no possible way that among the Syrian refugees desperately needing our help, there could be a few dangerous terrorists. It is only ridiculous, racist conservatives – the types of people who will vote for Donald Trump - who insult the Syrian people, and intelligent liberals everywhere, by saying that there could be. We know this because we were instructed in that regard by earnest, progressive commentators who were out recently parading their caring tolerance in reaction to the son of the Republican candidate for president in the United States. Except that they are wrong; and provably so. Donald...

“Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any faith, but to become dominant. The Qur’an should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.” Omar Ahmed, director of Council on American Islamic Relations. By reading that statement by one of the BIG Muslim leaders for CAIR in America, you face an uneasy feeling he means business. And, as his Muslim immigrant friends grow in number, he enjoys greater power to institute his intentions onto the American people. Islam Is All About Power Through Numbers One of those American citizens, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton...

A new report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine indicated that “first-generation immigrants are more costly to governments, mainly at the state and local levels, than are the native-born, in large part due to the costs of educating their children.” An article about the report in the Washington Times observed that the academies’ “researchers tested eight scenarios, and in each of them taxpayers came out worse.” The Times noted that in the best-case scenario, the federal government came out ahead as a result of immigration, but the states showed negative fiscal effects, for a total loss of...

Trump signs in her backyard. Trump magnets on her refrigerator. Trump buttons on her dining room table. Kathy Miller is the Mahoning County chairwoman for Donald Trump. While handing out Trump signs in June at a Republican headquarters just south of Youngstown, Ohio, she was approached by a woman in her late 80s, who said, “I have never voted Republican in my life. Give me the biggest sign you’ve got.” In economically struggling communities like Mahoning County — where most steel mills have closed — many white, working-class Democrats are voting for Trump, registration records and 2016 presidential primary results...

It’s a threat many Americans have been aware of for quite a long time and imploring the impotent Congress to address before it’s too late. They held hearings in February of 2015 in which the FBI Assistant Director for Counterterrorism, Michael Steinbach, testified that it is impossible to vet the Syrian “refugees.” Other officials, in a multitude of agencies including Jeh Johnson at DHS, have confirmed that fact in the months since. Still the insane importation of people who want to kill us and takeover our country continues. The terrorist in the White House and the one running DHS say...

The United Sates was founded by immigrants. Generation after generation of immigrants came here to escape oppression, war, violence and to seek a better life. Both those immigrants, and the citizens that live here, don’t want the evils and problems that they left behind to follow them here. The laws of our nation have kept those concerns at bay. Yet now, politicians who only care about clinging to power and making a name for themselves (from both parties, by the way), seem to show little concern who is entering the country. If you want border control or background checks, you’re...

Yesterday news broke Department of Homeland Security officials are encouraging employees to work expensive overtime hours to push through as many U.S. citizenship applications as possible before the November election. An internal Obama administration email shows immigration officials may be literally working overtime to swear in as many new “citizen voters” as possible before the Nov. 8 presidential election, a powerful lawmaker charged Thursday. The email, from a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services field office chief and part of a chain of correspondence within the agency, urges the unnamed recipient to swear in as many citizens as possible “due to the...

On Monday, Donald Trump gave a speech on terrorism and immigration in which he said: We want people to come into our country, but they have to come in legally, through a process…. No one has a right to immigrate to this country. That should be a truism. But, as Byron York points out, Hillary Clinton responded in a retweet that she disagrees:

Ordinary Canadians are mad Trudeau wants Canada to become a post-national state and detests whatever true Canadian culture we have left Prime Minister Trudeau missed the opening of Parliament this week in order to jet off to New York to go to the U.N. It seems the Little Potato as he was dubbed by the Chinese or Little Pot for short, has a new favourite word to go with the other word he loves, “diversity.” Seems he loves to use the word “anxiety” too. While in New York, Trudeau talked about how some politicians exploit peoples’ fears and anxieties for...

On Thursday, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will release its report on “The Economic and Fiscal Consequences of Immigration.” According to the report, first generation immigrants as a group increase the nation’s fiscal deficit. In other words, the government benefits they receive exceed the taxes paid. The National Academies’ report provides 75-year fiscal projections for new immigrants and their descendants. The fiscal impact varies greatly according to the education level of the immigrant. Low-skill immigrants are shown to impose substantial fiscal costs that extend far into the future. The future government benefits they will receive greatly exceed...
