On the eve before the GOP Illinois primary, one might ask: How the hell does SGTreport have election results for a Republican primary in Illinois which has yet to take place? We have long argued that the fix is in, but this… um… leaves us speechless. Posted tonight – MONDAY, March 19th – on the web site of Chicago ABC News Affiliate WLS-TV are the following election results, clearly labeled as “Illinois Races, Federal Offices”. Tomorrow is primary day in Illinois and there are three races to watch. The first, and biggest, is the GOP primary for Governor which has essentially boiled down to a two person race between moderate Judy Baar Topinka and conservative Jim Oberweis.Topinka is the only Republican currently holding statewide office (Treasurer) which demonstrates her appeal in a state where the GOP has basically been reduced to a smoldering heap of ruins. Ah, primary season. There's nothing quite like it. The mudslinging, the angry responses in debates, and yes, the upsets in the races where the "expected winners" don't come through in the end.
