ISTANBUL (AFP) - Senior representatives of 57 Muslim countries elected Turkey's Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu as the next secretary general of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, a minister participating in the meeting said. Ihsanoglu, a 61-year-old historian, will succeed Morocco's Abdelwahed Belkeziz, whose four-year mandate expires at the end of this year, said the minister, who asked to remain anonymous.
