MIAMI — The donations kept pouring in: hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions to President Obama and more than a dozen members of Congress, carefully routed through the families of two wealthy brothers in Florida. They had good reason to be generous. The two men, Roberto and William Isaias, are fugitives from Ecuador, which has angrily pressed Washington to turn them over, to no avail. A year after their relatives gave $90,000 to help re-elect Mr. Obama, the administration rejected Ecuador’s extradition request for the men, fueling accusations that such donations were helping to keep the brothers and...

"Our message absolutely is don't send your children unaccompanied, on trains or through a bunch of smugglers," Obama told ABC News on Thursday. "We don't even know how many of these kids don't make it, and may have been waylaid into sex trafficking or killed because they fell off a train." "Do not send your children to the borders," Obama said. "If they do make it, they'll get sent back. More importantly, they may not make it."

Between the Libyan and Sicilian coasts, there is a distance of 300 miles and the common story is that poor, belabored migrants make this dangerous crossing in an effort to reach either safety or a better life but tragically fail. The only problem is this isn’t actually true. Last year, more than 180,000 people were registered as entering Europe by this method. But out of that 180,000, how many do you think made the 300 mile journey? Zero. Not a single one. The reality is that the boats make it just 12 miles from the Libyan coast and send out...

Over 2,000 migrants have been ‘saved’ by the Italian coastguard over the past three days, just a fraction of the so-called ‘swarm’ presently migrating north through Europe. As illegals attempting to cross the Mediterranean in unseaworthy boats to Europe were being rescued, yet more found themselves near the end of their perilous journeys just yards away from the British forward border at Calais, France. Despite significant deployments of riot police, security equipment, and sniffer dogs thousands of desperate attempts to break into the Calais port facilities are still made every night. Britain has deployed 100 new border force guards to...

Aguadilla police spokesman Juan Bautista Ayala said the 17 men and five women were taken into custody around 2 a.m. Friday after agents Wilfredo Vega and Jose Ventura spotted them while patrolling the area. Bautista Ayala said the detainees had apparently set out aboard a vessel from the Dominican Republic. The immigrants remained together after coming ashore and did not resist arrest. A Chinese businessman from Rincon was asked to serve as interpreter, Ayala said, and although...
