There are many gun enthusiasts out there that are on different platforms. One of the big question is, "Is the most important thing speed, or is it accuracy?" In this post Rob Leatham and Rob Pincus will discuss and answer this. The main thing is finding that happy balance that you shoot fast enough without being too slow and be accurate. Both Rob will walk you through some timing drills to build your skills up to where you need to be. You can have Both Speed & AccuracyAfter several rounds of this timing drill, neither Rob's was faster than the...

Big-talking bogeymen behind #DisruptJ20 and their de facto leader Michael Moore are not your garden variety activists on the move. They are the LGBTQ movement trying to advance the cause of Lesbians, Gays and Transgenders now boasting to stop the inauguration of President Elect Donald Trump in its tracks. When they’re not shutting down inaugurations “forcing” the president-elect to take his oath of office ‘behind closed doors,’ if ‘at all’, this is what #Disrupt20—really the so-called D.C. Counter-Inaugural Welcoming Committee—do with their time:

According to Rob Leatham 6x IPSC World Champion! That's right coming from Rob Leatham. When it comes to shooting, few are at Rob Leatham's caliber so when he's got something to say about shooting, we should pay attention. Or, shouldn't we? Without questioning Rob's shooting ability, there has been debates on the different school of thoughts when it comes to "instinctive" shooting to precise shooting, or, accuracy shooting to speed shooting. As you can see the list goes on, we have written one piece when the NYPD shooting program came under fire when their officers were missing their shots in...

Do you like to shoot the .22 pistols? Have you tried the Ruger Mark 4, or the S&W Victory Pistol? The all-new Ruger Mark 4 Pistol has lovers and haters. On the other hand, the S&W competition, the Victory Pistol, equally has fans and non-fans. The guy from 22 Plinkster fired both and examined the pros and cons of both pistol models. He goes over which one is more simple to work with as far as taking apart and which has the better grip.See the full action here, what about you, which one do you like to use for plinking...

From its very beginning the AK-47 was designed to be a simple, reliable automatic rifle that could be manufactured quickly and cheaply, using mass production methods by the Soviet Union during the beginning of the cold war. This weapon can be found any where in the world for its reliability and afford ability. Once it made its way to the United States, the weapon is now America’s second favorite to our AR-15 among the shooting enthusiasts. (oops, that’s another debate) To fully appreciate the functionality of this fabulous weapon, take a look at it in full action and be amaze...

Cobalt Kinetics' Team Gun has powered the company's 3-Gun squad to multiple national championships. Now, you can own one for yourself. f you look up "cobalt" on the periodic chart of the elements, you'll find it listed at number 27, right between iron and nickel. But if you did a word search for “cobalt” shortly after the 3GN Nationals concluded earlier this year, your results field would have been full of number ones. When the dust at the nationals had settled – or more accurately, after Hurricane Matthew's torrential rains had finally subsided – Team Cobalt members wore national championship...

The Operator Model tactical brass recovery system from TBR really works.Lew Grasser is a Marine Corps veteran who owns and operates Tactical Brass Recovery (TBR) in New Salisbury, Ind. He’s spent a lot of time watching spent cases eject from AR-platform rifles, AK-47s, SCARs and even TAVOR bullpups and tactical shotguns. He has tested scores of rifles and ammunition types and recorded the results, noting what is consistent, what is variable and what is bizarrely rare. He’s even made high-speed video recordings of ejecting cases so he can study their movements in slow motion. He’s done all this research to...

We normally encourage people to try something new, but.. Oh no. You can see it in how he holds the gun even before he brings it up. In the wobble, and the uncertain look he gives the camera, and the sniggering behind the camera: This guy shouldn’t hold a gun. He probably shouldn’t even hold a stapler. Then he holds it aaalllll the way out, and you realize he’s settling to take the shot that way. The boomstick goes bang, The back end smacks into his cheek/chin, and it’s amazing his ass doesn’t hit grass. Friends don’t let friends crack...

Does it count as ‘sharp shooting’ if it’s birdshot? Well these guys are trying to find out. Landing three sea ducks in one fly-by,this handfull of hunters does a pretty great job of putting some duck on the table. I wonder, does sea duck taste much different from any other kind of duck? Watch as they harvest several impressive birds over the deep blue sea. Did you see the water splash around the ducks when the hunters took their shots? It look as if the bullets were hitting the duck and the area all around it on several occasions. See...

  • Precision Long Range Shooting & the Coriolis Effect

You may not be taking this into Account in Precision Long Range Shooting. If you’re into long range shooting, its important to understand how the “Coriolis effect” affects your shot at 1000 yards or greater. The Coriolis effect is the rotation of the earth and the movement of a target downrange from the shooter. This is another element that a long distance shooter has to consider for along with wind, rain, snow, distance, elevation and a many other factors. Accounting for all these factors signifies the skill sets needed for precision long range shooting. In simple layman's term:"if you're shooting...

This simple test displays the devastating power of the S&W 500. The Smith & Wesson 500 is well known as one of the most powerful handguns on teh planet! These 500-grain bullets can bring down pretty much any animal on earth. The guys from GY6vids Youtube put together this short video in which he puts one of these gigantic pistols up against a couple of pork shoulders. The results are about what you may expect! This is a simple test, but an effective one. The huge holes and ridiculous penetration of this round should stop just about anything on earth....

The current sustained popularity of the guns of the Old West convinced Lyman to reintroduce some of the fine accessories they used to manufacture in the 1800s. That's a general statement, but it also leads us right into this short conversation about their #2 Tang Sight, which is made especially for the 1873 lever action as manufactured by Uberti. Lyman patented their #1 Tang Sight in 1879. The #2 followed either very shortly after if not at the same time. The only difference between those two types of sights is that the #1 had the combination apertures, with the fold-down...

The debate goes on between these two famous guns. The folks from AK47 Local Union did a live-fire barrel test between a Daniel’s Defense AR-15 against the classic Vepr AK-47. These two guns have gone head-to-head on battlefields across the world early in the "cold war" to current terrorist threats, but how will they fare in this range competition? See the results here.
