Eight years ago, one woman was confronted by a hit man who had been hired by her husband to murder her. She killed the hit man with her bare hands. Now, on the heels of her husband's release from prison, she is encouraging others who find themselves in similar situations to fight for their lives. Susan Walters of Portland, Oregon, was known as Susan Kuhnhausen back in 2006 when her then-husband Michael Kuhnhausen sent a hit man to murder her. Susan bravely fought back and wound up killing the hit man with her bare hands. "His last words on this...

In the second season of the BBC's hit show "Sherlock," shadowy snipers threaten the eponymous detective's friends by skulking around stairwells with high-powered rifles or infiltrating their homes and workplaces. In real life, targets of assassination in Britain are more likely to be killed while walking their dogs or going shopping, new research finds. The study of contract killings spanning from 1974 to 2013, published in The Howard Journal of Criminal Justice, finds that assassinations are often rather mundane. "Hit men are familiar figures in films and video games, carrying out 'hits' in underworld bars or from the rooftops with...

A contract is still a contract – even if it is a contract to kill By Alan Hamilton A woman who hired a hitman to kill her has been awarded £2,000 because she is still alive IT SOUNDS like the law of 1920s East Side Chicago, but it is also the law of England. A contract is a contract, even if it is a contract to kill. Break it, and if the mob don’t get you, Maidstone Crown Court will. Kevin Reeves, 40, was jailed for 15 months and ordered to pay £2,000 compensation after accepting £20,000 from a friend...

It’s Hard to Believe, But… Tokyo: An indignant Japanese woman summoned the police after a man she met online cheated her out of 1 million Yen. The man was “supposed to” track down and murder the wife of a man, with whom the woman was having an affair. The hitman had promised to chase the victim down on a motorcycle, pull alongside her in a tunnel, and spray her with a lethal bio-agent…but then he realized it was a lot simpler to cheat the woman who had hired him. (It’s so hard to find reliable help these days !) New Jersey:...

So now that I'm not in the White House, I can say what I couldn't say then: we should seriously explore the assassination option.
