Opposition leader MK Yitzchak Herzog (Labor) on Saturday accused Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman of trying to sabotage the peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Herzog, who is currently in Washington where he will meet with National Security Adviser Susan Rice and Secretary of State John Kerry, was responding to Liberman’s remarks at the Saban Forum on Friday, where the Foreign Minister said that peace was impossible in the near future, because there was “zero trust” between the two sides. Herzog called on Liberman to undergo a “reality check”, saying that the Foreign Minister “should remember that even if...
  • Herzog is unfit even to be dog-catcher

Well, well, well. Buji Herzog has now been elected as leader of the Labor Party, which makes him leader of the opposition. Woe be unto Israel if this man becomes prime minister of Israel. He lacks four attributes which would qualify him for the job: a spine, a brain, a heart, and guts. In my opinion Herzog is not even fit to be elected dog-catcher out of concern for the welfare of the dogs. My opinion is based on personal experience. Here is my story. You be the judge.

Yesterday marked the opening of the Susan B. Anthony museum in Rochester, New York—and instead of celebrating, a lot of feminists are miffed. The museum was purchased by a member of Feminists Choosing Life of New York, and pro-choice groups are accusing her of “hijacking Susan.” Apparently, they want the famous suffragist’s views on abortion scrubbed from the historical record. “There's absolutely nothing in anything that [Susan B. Anthony] ever said or did that would indicate she was anti-abortion,” Planned Parenthood founder Gloria Feldt. Absolutely nothing? A quick Google search disproves that in a hurry. In her suffragist newspaper The...
  • Will Feminists Again Censor Science? (My Townhall.com column)

How long before feminists try to censor this? Last week, Science Daily reported on a study from Northwestern University which proved “that girls have superior language abilities than boys...and gender differences in language appear biological.” Through MRI scans, the researchers discovered that girls’ brains work harder and use more areas during language tasks than boys’—leading them to conclude that “boys’ and girls’ brains are different.” This is bad news for feminists, who insist that men and women are really the same (besides the obvious physical distinctions), and that any differences are the products of socialization, “gender roles” and discrimination—and any...

The state Department of Transportation has awarded a $115 million contract for extension of the Rail Runner Express commuter rail line into Santa Fe. The department said work is scheduled to start in September and is estimated to be finished in November 2008— about the same time frame projected in previous estimates. The contract went to a joint venture of Twin Mountain Construction II Co. and the HERZOG Group. Twin Mountain was involved in the reconstruction of the Big I interstate interchange and the Interstate 40-Coors interchange in Albuquerque. ~~ snip ~~ Phase II of the Rail Runner will extend...

Germany's state of parliamentary democracy is under threat from the European Union which is slowly taking away all the national parliament's powers, the country's ex-president has said. In an article for newspaper Welt am Sonntag, Roman Herzog pointed out that between 1999 and 2004, 84 percent of the legal acts in Germany stemmed from Brussels. "EU policies suffer to an alarming degree from a lack of democracy and a de facto suspension of the separation of powers." "By far the biggest part of the current laws in Germany are agreed by the council of ministers [member states representation in Brussels]...

Herzog's epic quest for camera shy Nessie BRIAN PENDREIGH THE legend is about to take on the monster. Eccentric German film-maker Werner Herzog will shortly arrive in Scotland to pursue one of the world’s most elusive creatures. Herzog, widely regarded as one of the greatest film-makers alive because of his painstaking attention to detail, has become fascinated by the myth of the Loch Ness monster. He now intends to make the definitive documentary on Nessie for cinema release around the world. Friends say he has been obsessively collecting research material in advance of his trip to the Highlands next month....
