Federal officials say six people have been charged in connection with home-invasion robberies that targeted victims of Indian and Asian ancestry. Some of those violent robberies took place in faraway Michigan. Others were close to home — in Flower Mound, Southlake, Allen and Coppell. AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department arrested a woman last night after a “Molotov cocktail” was thrown at pro-life activists praying outside of an Austin Planned Parenthood abortion facility. RELEASE 3/24/2014: Last night at an Austin Planned Parenthood abortion facility, a woman threw a Molotov cocktail (a type of homemade bomb) at group of Central Texas Coalition for Life prayer volunteers. BOSTON - A Massachusetts teenager's confession to police that he killed his math teacher cannot be used in his murder trial, a judge ruled Tuesday even as he allowed a bloody box cutter and other key pieces of evidence to be admitted. The ruling came in the case of 16-year-old Philip Chism, who has pleaded not guilty to raping and killing 24-year-old Danvers High School teacher Colleen Ritzer on school grounds in October 2013. Despite having been 14 at the time of the killing, Chism is charged as an adult.

Sheriff’s officials say when deputies got to the church, they found a charred wooden cross propped up against the church’s sign near the road. A possible hate crime is under investigation after a fire was set at a Central Florida church, where vandals also spray-painted "Allahu Akbar." The incident happened around 3 a.m. Monday at the New Shiloh Christian Church in Melbourne. About 1,500 members attend the church.
