Full title: Matthews on GOP Attacks on Pelosi: GOP Likes Attacking Coastal People Who Are ‘Usually Ethnic’ – It’s ‘Ethnic Politics’ While discussing Republican attacks on House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” host Chris Matthews referred to attacks on Pelosi as “ethnic politics” and stated that attacking people from the coasts who are “usually ethnic” is an old tactic by Republicans. Matthews said, “Picking on somebody from one of the coasts, usually ethnic, and making them the poster person of the Democratic Party is old business for the Republicans. They did it with —...

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews inexplicably referred to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as an “ethnic sort of person” during a “Hardball” segment Monday night.

On Sunday's AM Joy on MSNBC, as frequent guest Jennifer Rubin was finally being credited as an "MSNBC political analyst," the alleged "conservative" Washington Post columnist demonstrated that she will continue to use her new MSNBC contributor status to deliver liberal analysis as she demonized a Republican guest by asking her if she is an "inhumane beast" who was "raised by wolves." Notably, just a couple of days ago, Rubin declared that she still wishes to be identified as a "conservative" when Hardball host Chris Matthews wondered if he should drop the "conservative" label for her as he admitted that...

With the latest sexual harassment news about MSNBC's Chris Matthews having to pay a $40,000 settlement to an assistant producer for Hardball in 1999, can anybody be really surprised? The reason is that Matthews over the years has a record of very strange behavior of a leering nature around women, much of it recorded for posterity. Two notable examples are presented below, starting with the the uncomfortable 2007 incident in which Matthews asked then-CNBC's Street Signs host Erin Burnett to lean in closer to the camera so he could get a better look at her (and presumably her chest).

MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews was back and firing on all cylinders Monday night, overseeing a show devoid of reason as it linked conservatives, Republicans, and anyone in the “right-wing†to the KKK, neo-Nazis, and white supremacists associated with Saturday’s Charlottesville terrorism. Matthews also showed ineptitude in not knowing until very recently that progressive heartthrob and President Woodrow Wilson loved the KKK film Birth of a Nation so much that he had it shown at the White House. Out of Control ‘Hardball’ Lumps GOP in with Neo-Nazis, Shocked Wilson Loved ‘Birth of a Nation’He began his show with a personal summation...

President Donald Trump was compared to another murderous world dictator on Thursday night as MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews suggested Trump is just like former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin and North Korea’s Kim Jong-un since Trump and Kim “love the parades” where they can serve as the star alongside military demonstrations. The comparison arose while Matthews and his Hardball Roundtable discussed Trump’s latest blockbuster New York Times interview where the President raved about the crowds he claimed were there to see him at the Eiffel Tower and the immaculate Bastille Day parade he witnessed. MSNBC’s Chris Matthews Compares Trump to...

That moment when one fake news outlet attacks another fake news outlet, as reported by yet another fake news outlet. This is getting extremely fake-complicated.: Dean Baquet, the fake editor of the fakest fakety fakey fake Newspaper of Record, the New York Times, got all sassy regarding the fake news competition yesterday. He told an interviewer with another fake news outlet – The Hill – that the new slogan adopted by the Washington Post, “Democracy Dies in the Dark”, “sounds like the next Batman movie.” Oooooh, burn!

As NewsBuster Geoffrey Dickens has noted, Ben Affleck appeared on yesterday evening's edition of Hardball. And while it's true that the actor/director/Dem activist offered a generally innocuous analysis, he did manage to engage in a bit of religious bigotry. Affleck's foul foray arose in the course of his discussion of the way the various Republican candidates have dealt with the issue of evolution and creationism. Talk turned to the former governor of Arkansas. BEN AFFLECK: I think Huckabee actually framed his position in a much less dramatic way than had been made out. Which was he said it could...

On Wednesday, MSNBC’s “Hardball” host Chris Matthews stated of the unrest outside presumptive GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s rally in New Mexico, “I don’t think they’re that violent.” Matthews said, while talking to Albuquerque Police Officer Tanner Tixier “I don’t see violence yet. I did see that police car with the windshield smashed. I’ve heard about other incidents of violence — low-key violence so far.”

Monday on MSNBC’s “Hardball” while discussing his New York Magazine article about Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump entitled “America Has Never Been So Ripe for Tyranny,” the former New Republic editor Andrew Sullivan said Trump was a “reality television asshole,” to which host Chis Matthews apologized to his audience for at the end of the segment.

Chris Matthews at Center of NBC’s Latest News Scandal MSNBC “Hardball” host Chris Matthews isn’t much for keeping his promises of transparency when it involves political contributions to his wife’s congressional campaign. Last June, the blabbermouth commentator insisted on his show that he would be “transparent and fair in our coverage” after his wife, Kathleen, announced that she was running as a Democrat for the open seat in Maryland’s 8th District. Since then, Kathleen Matthews, a former news anchor and Marriott exec, has received a total of $79,050 in campaign contributions from prominent former and current politicians featured on her...

On Wednesday's edition of Hardball with Chris Matthews, a shouting match about how the black community views Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again†slogan was brought to a screeching halt when Matthews insisted: “You’re right about Reince. I agree with your one point or a lot of what she says. But when Reince Priebus’—his number one goal is to keep blacks from voting.†Both of Matthews's guests, Republican strategist Matt Schlapp and April Ryan of American Urban Radio Networks, who is liberal and African-American, were caught off guard and shocked by his comment. “No, no, no, no, no. He’s talking about getting...

A MoveOn.org petition demanding that MSNBC suspend "Hardball" host Chris Matthews has garnered just under 10,000 signatures, even as the network has refused to address what Huffington Post called a "clear conflict of interest." The petition began in response to outrage over Matthews' "constant shilling for Hillary Clinton." The number of petition signees has almost tripled in size since The Daily Caller reported that Hillary Clinton's biggest donors are bankrolling the congressional campaign of Matthews' wife, Kathleen. One woman who signed the petition said was "crying thinking 'my' media source is so biased." Another petitioner called Matthews' behavior an "egregious"...

If you want Chris Matthews to change his mind, just wait a minute. In just over a minute on Morning Joe today, Matthews changed his election prediction from agreeing with Joe Scarborough that Trump would win and that Bernie Sanders would squeak out a victory to changing his prediction to a win by Hillary Clinton. However, the most fascinating part of his quick change of prediction was his frozen face when put on the spot by Scarborough as weird undulations played out over the surface. A body language expert could have a field day analyzing what was going through the...

MSNBC’s “Hardball†host Chris Matthews said that “I do believe in reparations, if he could figure out what it would be†in a discussion on Democratic presidential candidate Senator Sen. Bernie Sanders ’ (I-VT) position on the issues on Wednesday.

While much of the ongoing evaluation of the Democrat primary remains both hypothetical and anecdotal until we start counting some votes, I can say with 100% certainty that Bernie Sanders has two big fans in my household. One is my wife, a Democrat who really likes Bernie for the next president and despises Hillary Clinton to the point where she suggested one evening (after a glass of brandy) that she might even vote for Trump over the former First Lady. The other, of course, is me. I still have to believe that running an avowed socialist on the Democrat ticket...

During an appearance yesterday on MSNBC, “Hardball†host Chris Matthews said that if progressives weren’t so consumed with discussing the antics of Donald Trump, they’d realize that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is a “scarier†candidate for president. “I expect if [Trump] keeps in there fighting against somebody like Cruz they’re going to realize something that really is scary to most moderates and progressives, that Cruz is scarier than Trump and that will be a frightening prospect to realize that Trump is the more – well, he’s not acceptable to progressives, but when you look at him against Cruz,†Matthews said....
