Several years ago, I was physically assaulted in a mall parking lot. Without going into great detail, I will tell you what I remember most about my attacker, was the 'brute'strength he had over me. Do I wish I had a gun that day? H..l, yes! Fast-forward to today, a time when every American has a dangerous enemy that makes my attacker seem as harmless as Kermit the Frog: Radical Islamic Terrorism. As we have learned from San Bernardino, CA, these jihadists are already in the U.S., and prepared to kill mass numbers of Americans in cold blood. This warped...

As Knoxville, Tennessee, continued grappling with the killing of rising high school football star Zaevion Dobson, President Barack Obama took to Twitter to repeat his call for stricter gun control laws. "Zaevion Dobson died saving three friends from getting shot," Obama wrote Sunday from Hawaii, where he arrived Friday for the holidays. "He was a hero at 15. What is our excuse for not acting?"

Center for American Progress ctpost.com reports that Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy hearts The Center for American Progress. "These are great proposals,"Malloy pronounced after considering CAP's 28-point civilian disarmament plan. (After the jump.) "To be sure, not every recommendation is appropriate or feasible in every state," CAP admits. "State laws vary widely, and states often face varying challenges when it comes to gun violence. But the list of ideas offered in this report is intended to present wide-ranging options for state executives who are committed to taking real action to address gun violence in their communities." And trampling on American's gun...

President Obama on Wednesday met with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, an ally of the White House on gun control. The meeting, which was not on the president's public schedule, comes as he is weighing new executive action on guns in response to a series of mass shootings that have marred his presidency. Obama huddled with Bloomberg "as part of the administration's continuing push to address gun violence in America," the White House said in a statement. "The two discussed ways to keep guns out of the hands of those who should not have access to them...

Keeping guns out of the hands of those who shouldn't have them continues to be a priority for President Obama, and the White House is sending hints that he plans to do it soon by executive action. Meanwhile, a White House spokesman on Thursday called it a "tragic irony" that legal gun sales are soaring. Speaking at a vigil in Newtown, Conn. Wednesday night, Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett said the president has asked his team to send him a proposal "in short order" outlining how he can use his executive authority to expand background checks on gun buyers without congressional...

According to the Associated Press, the efforts were defeated on a “near party line vote of 242-173.†The one Republican who sided with Democrats for gun control was Rep. Peter King (R-NY).

Hillary Clinton’s campaign touted the presidential candidate’s intention to ‘take on the NRA’ Saturday. Clinton’s campaign sent out an email promoting Clinton’s record on gun control and assuring Americans that if she is elected, the NRA should be very afraid. “Hillary has been fighting hard to prevent gun violence for decades, from her vocal support of the Brady Bill in 1993 to her calls on the campaign trail to take on the NRA and pass commonsense solutions to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous criminals,†the email reads. “She is the champion we need on this issue —...

This Thanksgiving, the Obama administration wants Americans to talk about why Congress won’t pass more gun control – but not about Obama’s foreign policy failures. During the White House press briefing, Press Secretary Josh Earnest continued to press a narrative set up by gun control activists in response to the terrorist attacks in Paris. “As people sitting around the Thanksgiving table talking about these issues as they should and I’m sure they will all across the country, I hope that’s a question that will be raised and asked by members around the table,†Earnest said, referring to a bill...

Alonza Gonzalez was turning right near 59 and FM 762 several months ago but just recently received the dash camera video after he filed public records requests. "Just because I have a handgun on me and a license to carry should not be a big deal, but that is what made it the turning point," Gonzalez said... ...Seconds later, Gonzalez was arrested: "You're under arrest for your traffic violations." During an interview at his Rosenberg home, Gonzalez told Channel 2 he thinks if he didn't have a gun, things would have ended differently. "If I didn't have my firearm on...

The recent mass shooting in Oregon has brought the seemingly endless debate on gun control back into the national spotlight. Are we, as some insist, in the midst of a gun violence crisis? Gun control advocates would certainly have you think so. [...] A quick look into the facts reveals an entirely different picture. According to the FBI, in the past two decades, violent crime has been falling almost continuously. In 2013, the number of violent crimes perpetrated was 37 percent lower than it was just two decades earlier. ...

Mrs. Clinton’s latest TV commercial starts with her saying, “This epidemic of gun violence knows no boundaries.†A clever phrase, and a key part of the Great Gun Control Con, “epidemic of gun violence†proclaims a rapid increase in “gun violence†(as though someone robbed, raped or murdered is any less violated if some other tool is used). Never does one see a reporter jump up to challenge this basic premise. In fact, the rate of crimes with guns has declined. Not by 5 or 10 percent, but by nearly half in only 20 years. That should be cause for...

Police chiefs from across the United States called on Monday for universal background checks for firearms purchases, saying opinion polls consistently show that most Americans support such restrictions. The proliferation of firearms is one of the factors behind a rise in homicide rates in many U.S. cities this year, according to senior law enforcement officials at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Chicago. …

Some have a hard time accepting that criminals can be deterred from committing crimes. They don’t believe that potential mass shooters have second thoughts when faced with the prospect of armed citizens who can fight back. They seem to think that everyday Americans can’t help stop attacks. But it is getting hard to ignore that mass public shooters keep choosing to attack locations where victims can’t defend themselves. It’s little wonder that gun-control advocates resort to desperate tactics. There have been a series of articles from Politico, the Huffington Post, Slate, and the New York Daily News with similar...

Nir Barkat says citizens are often those to foil terror attacks, backs school strike over limited security guards’ hours Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Thursday encouraged all Israelis with a gun license to carry a weapon with them at all times in order to counter a recent wave of Palestinian attacks. The focus of violence was in and around the Old City and its Temple Mount compound. In an interview with Army Radio,...

Each time one of these mass shootings happen, the gun-control freaks inch a little bit closer to outright insanity. Since we decided as a country that the big story from the Charleston murders (somehow?) centered around the Confederate flag, these liberals have been chomping at the bit to get back to their favorite cause. The shooting in Oregon gave them their opportunity. This time around, they are making some very strange suggestions. One of the strangest came from Linda Stasi at the New York Daily News. She doesn’t just want to crusade for gun control; she wants the U.S. State...
