Here is video of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Meet the Press today with David Gregory. Christie schooled David Gregory on the issue of extending the “Bush Tax Cuts” – which Christie argued is extending the current tax system rather than raising taxes in a bad economy. It was clear Gregory did not want the Democrats’ desire not to extend the current tax structure to be characterized as a “tax increase,” and became rather shrill in his defense of the question he asked. But Christie was relentless in making clear what Obama and the Democrats are proposing is a...

May 22, 2010: Seven-year-old Jeffery Parker Jr., holds a sign as he stands with other demonstrators across the street from a Republican party unity rally in Frankfort, Ky. Ed Reinke-AP Nothing quite like a pair of liberal NBC stooges deliberating on the conservative movement and on a conservative politician in hot waters, while carrying on the pretense of objectivity and non-partisan detachment in their analysis. Rand Paul last week gave a weak and pathetic response to Rachel Maddow's interview question on the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Since then, he canceled a scheduled appearance for Meet the Press last...

Civility … Nuance. Just much too much in one short sound bite. NBC’s David Gregory wonders if protesters are budding Tim McVays … Obama calls for civil discourse (I’m sorry?) and then says protesters just want TV time ( I know, I know) …But we start with … “We have examples of anti government violence in the mid 90’s .. do you worry about that?”. Yup … those grandmas and grandpas and housewives I saw … no question … I can see the link between them and Tim McVay. Scary.

Comedian James Gregory visited the John Boy & Billy Show recently. Once he got started, he was like a rock rolling downhill, gaining speed and unstoppable. Mr. Gregory summed up my thoughts and feelings on America, the economy, and the world pretty effectively. The interview runs 20 minutes and is divided into two parts. It would be well worth your time to hear what Mr. Gregory has to say. [AUDIO AT SITE] (Excerpt) Read more at floppingaces.net ...

Sunday morning, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did a full hour with David Gregory on Meet the Press. She is, above all else, a committed Obama team member, echoing the president’s line on everything from engagement to restarts and artfully smoothing over Joe Biden’s head-scratchers. One of the most depressing moments of the hour came with this:

Sunday morning + political talk shows + coffee. The equation has been a vital ritual in Washington for six decades now, manned by a rarified fraternal order of newsmen who practice some very basic journalism. It's the David Gregory, Chris Wallace, George Stephanopoulos, Bob Schieffer hour of charm.

THE SHOW "Meet the Press," hosted by David Gregory. WHEN|WHERE Sundays at 10:30 a.m. on WNBC/4 REASON TO WATCH That is the question, and one President Barack Obama apparently asked himself, too, as he bypassed TV's venerable Sunday news institution for another show on the very same network - "The Tonight Show" - where he'll appear tonight to talk about the stimulus package. WHAT IT'S ABOUT The president's decision to slip past "Meet the Press" would seem like a massive diss of new host Gregory - in the job three months - but this is politics, and politics is to...

“Why shouldn’t people know the person who is reporting on [President George W.] Bush, say – didn’t like Bush?” Telushkin asked. Gregory responded by saying that knowledge, not the journalist’s ideology, would “slant their coverage” and people should be assured journalists abide by governing principles, even if they’re not explicitly stated. ...Bill Clinton was in attendance and was photographed with Wright. However, Gregory declined to use it. “I stopped,” Gregory said. “I had just come from my study session and said, ‘No, that would be oppressive to remind Bill Clinton of his past on my program. And so, I elected...

On this morning’s Today show, NBC’s David Gregory challenged Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards about his vote for the Iraq war, his relative lack of experience, and his divisive us-vs-them rhetoric. But Gregory had absolutely no reaction when Edwards grandly claimed that his phone call to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf in the hours after the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto “was a calming influence” that helped stabilize an “international crisis” and was proof he is “ready for the Presidency.” “We just had this, this international crisis in Pakistan that is still ongoing. And my response to that was...

Overheard on a Wednesday plane to New Hampshire for Thursday's Democratic debate on MSNBC: A frustrated Chris Matthews on the phone, loudly complaining about David Gregory being on his show. "I'm in charge of my show and I don't want him on my show," our source paraphrased him saying.

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Let's go to the president's press conference. The first question I want to play for you is from David Gregory, who I have a new nickname for: Brave Dave. Here is the question from David Gregory. It's about Iraq, that happened mere moments ago at a Rose Garden press conference. GREGORY: Mr. President, after the -- mistakes that have been made in this war, when you do as you did yesterday, when you raised two-year-old intelligence talking about the threat posed by Al-Qaeda, it's met with increasing skepticism. The majority in the public, growing number of Republicans...

David Gregory has long been accused by Republicans of being a left-wing hatchet man disguised as a reporter. Add to that, Gregory certainly does appear to love the limelight as his questions at presidential news conferences, or really any time the cameras are roiling, turn into long-winded filibusters. Many news observers from the right and left agree, for David Gregory, it is all about Dave. If you can accept that, that would make him a really good radio talk show host to replace ousted shock jock Don Imus. (That would also make him a really bad reporter). Now a report...

WASHINGTON (AP) - Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer leaked the identity of a CIA operative to Washington Post reporter Walter Pincus during a 2003 phone call, Pincus testified Monday as the first defense witness in the CIA leak trial. Pincus was one of the first reporters to learn the identity of Valerie Plame, the wife of former ambassador and prominent Iraq war critic Joseph Wilson. Pincus said he learned her identity July 12, 2003 but did not immediately write about it. Plame was outed by syndicated columnist Robert Novak two days later. Pincus testified on behalf of Vice...

President Bush's ex-spokesman invoked the Fifth Amendment when asked in front of a grand jury about the illegal outing of spy Valerie Plame, prosecutors revealed this week. Former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer sought and received immunity from prosecution for unmasking the secret agent. Armed with this immunity, Fleischer is now expected to testify Monday in the perjury trial of Lewis (Scooter) Libby. Fleischer is expected to tell the court that Libby, formerly Vice President Cheney's top adviser, told him on July 7, 2003, that "he had some information that was hush-hush," said special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald. What was hush-hush...

BREAKING, BIG: We are relying on the live-blogging of the Libby trial by the always-astute EmptyWheel, who is covering the opening statement of Libby's attorney, Ted Wells, but we have a potential blockbuster absolutely guaranteed to get exactly zero headlines. Ted Wells drops the news that David Gregory of NBC received a leak about Plame from Ari Fleischer on July 11: Now shows Ari dislcoses to David Gregory on July 11 that Ambassador Wilson's wife worked at the CIA. Fleischer tells that before Libby was ever indicted. "I told David Gregory." Talks about time difference, says Ari leaked to Gregory...

From today's WH Press Briefing (emph. added): DAVID GREGORY QUESTION: From a security point of view, does the president believe that it is the primary role of the U.S. military to be responsible for reducing the sectarian violence? And if that's the case, or if it's not the case, how does that inform his decision about what the U.S. troop posture should be: heavier on combat than on training? TONY SNOW: OK, before I get to that, I want to address something else. Because you and I had a conversation last week that got a whole lot of play in...

Yesterday, an exchange between White House Press Secretary, Tony Snow, and NBC White House Correspondent, David Gregory, took place at the WH Press gaggle. Gaggles are not broadcast; thus, no video usually exists for them. As a public service, Fox & Friends' Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade reenacted the Gregory-Snow exchange. For your interest and edification, that video does exist: Fox&Friends' Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade act out the script of the finger exchange between NBC's David Gregory and Press Secretary Tony Snow at the press gaggle on September 5, 2006. Newsman to Tony Snow: 'Don't Point Your Finger At Me!' By E&P Staff Published: September 05, 2006 4:15 PM ET updatted 4:30 PM ET NEW YORK A not especially eventful press briefing at the White House today turned rancorous with NBC's David Gregory telling Press Secretary Tony Snow, "Don't point your finger at me," and Snow accusing the newsman of being "rude" and delivering Democratic talking points. Earlier, speaking to reporters, Snow, continuing the administration's media focus on the war on terror, accused "some in the Democratic Party" of saying "we shouldn't fight the war" and "we shouldn't apprehend al-Qaeda"...

Many want to know about Gregorian Masses -- especially for deceased loved ones -- so let us begin at the beginning:Gregorian Masses date back to the end of the sixth century, when they were instituted by Pope St. Gregory the Great, a doctor of the Church. It is why these Masses take their name from him.He established them when he was Abbot of St. Andrew's Benedictine Abbey of Monte Celio in Rome -- and a rather strict one, I might add. In one of his most notable works -- called Dialogues -- Pope Gregory spoke of a monk named Justus. "See...
