The remains of the last known victim of the Green River Killer have been identified as a Washington State teen – though investigators say there may still be other unsolved cases linked to the infamous murderer. The partial remains were identified as belonging to Tammie Liles, of Everett, the King’s County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) announced. “With this identification, there are no other unidentified remains associated with the Green River Case,” the sheriff’s office said. The incomplete set of bones and teeth were first discovered in 2003, when serial killer Gary Ridgway – known as the Green River Killer – led...

Washington Rep. Congressman Dave Reichart says he won’t vote for Donald Trump in the wake of his “comments and blatant disrespect for women.” He says that Trump has lost his vote due to his comments in a video from 2005 recently shared by the Washington Post. “As a son, husband, father and grandfather I am appalled by Donald Trump’s comments and blatant disrespect for women,” Reichert writes in his statement. “The actions described in that video are absolutely reprehensible.”

“Never before have so few stolen so much from so many for so little.” -Jefferson Paine Open Letter to: Mr. David Reichert Republican Representative Washington State Delegation June 30th, 2009 Dear Mr. Reichert, Please, resign your seat in the U.S. House of Representatives because of your “Yes” vote in favor of the abominable “Cap and Trade” or “Climate Change” bill - and without having even read the final bill in its entirety before voting on it. Your egregious voting record does not represent me, or of any Republican that I know. Since your debut in Congress, I have been watching...

Letter From A Serial Killer SEATTLE - Green River killer Gary Leon Ridgway sent a bizarre anonymous letter to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer nearly 20 years ago in what the newspaper said Friday was a "brazen attempt to throw off investigators." Authorities at the time wrongly concluded it wasn't from the real killer, the paper said. Now, police say Ridgway admitted writing the letter when he began confessing this summer to killing 48 women. The paper said it had turned the letter over to investigators in 1984 and never reported on it, in part because of doubts about its authenticity....

Bones discovered along a hillside in 1985 have been identified as belonging to a victim of the notorious Green River Killer, deputies in Washington said. DNA identified the remains of 15-year-old Lori Anne Razpotnik decades after she went missing, the King County Sheriff’s Office said in a Dec. 19 news release. Razpotnik was one of 49 women Gary Ridgway is accused of killing in the 1980s and 1990s in Washington. She ran away from her home in Lewis County in 1982 and never returned, deputies said.

Throughout the country, law enforcement has set free thousands of prisoners to "protect them" from COVID-19 inside jails and prisons. While innocents are locked in their homes hiding from "the invisible enemy," as President Trump calls it, county sheriffs, prison overseers, and governors have been busy freeing convicted criminals to stop them from getting the coronavirus. The rogue's gallery of convicts is a justice reformer's dream. Los Angeles Sheriff Alex Villanueva bragged he let prisoners out of his jail before he was even asked by the ACLU and other justice groups – this while he shut down gun stores so...

A find in the last few days in Auburn, Washington opens up the possibility that Gary Ridgeway may be charged and face the death penalty. The skeleton of a woman who disappeared in 1982 has been discovered and positively identified as 20 year old Becky Mererro, who disappeared from a Pacific Highway South motel room, an area heavily influenced by prostitution where Ridgeway picked up many of his victims. Ridgeway entered a plea agreement with King County that he would not face the death penalty if he confessed and pled guilty to all the murders he committed. He ended up...

Dave Reichert, King County sheriff, is running for Congress. Six weeks before the Sept. 14 primary, three months before the general election in November, his book has arrived. It's no political biography. Reichert never mentions his Republican candidacy. "Chasing the Devil" tells the story of his two-decade hunt for the Green River Killer. On the back cover, Reichert faces the camera and stands like a two-by-four, muscled forearms crossed, eyes aimed at the lens in a grim don't-mess-with-me stare. His white hair is perfect. Any reporter who's covered Reichert knows the pose. It's not phony. It's just him: the smoldering...

SEATTLE - The handcuffs were a badge of pride for the cop who carried them, like a ballplayer's old glove. Once shiny, they had worn a dull and heavy gray over decades of use. Cheryl Payseno shows the handcuffs that once belonged to her husband, detective Paul Smith, who died of leukemia in 1985. After Smith's death, detective Randy Mullinax, left, inherited them. On Nov. 30, 2001, Mullinax used them to cuff Gary Ridgway, the Green River Killer. Randy Mullinax inherited them from Paul Smith, a veteran King County detective who died of leukemia in 1985. Since then, the cuffs...
