Lawyers for a Chicago police officer accused of murdering a Chicago teen in a shooting captured on dashcam video that ignited protests in the city and around the country are arguing their client will not be able to get a fair trial in Chicago. Chicago cop Jason Van Dyke was back in court Thursday as his lawyers argued extensive media coverage of the October 2014 incident in which Van Dyke shot and killed 17-year old Laquan McDonald means Van Dyke will not be able to get a fair trial in Cook County where Chicago is the county seat.

“I feel like I’m having to choose between you and God.” That’s what Greta Lindecrantz, a 67-year-old Mennonite, told an Arapahoe County, Colo., district judge on Wednesday after she ordered her to testify for the prosecution in a death-penalty case — or remain in jail for contempt of court. Lindecrantz had been behind bars since Monday. As she spoke, wearing a jail jumpsuit and shackles on her arms, supportive Mennonites sang hymns outside the courtroom, according to the Daily Journal. “This is now me telling you directly … and I’m ordering you to answer the questions,”

In a nationally televised negotiation with Republican and Democratic leaders at the White House Wednesday, President Trump appeared to back many liberal gun control proposals much to the delight of the liberal media. During their evening broadcasts ABC, CBS, and NBC touted how the President “stood up to the National Rifle Association” and pushed back against Republicans. The report on NBC Nightly News was arguably the most vicious against gun rights advocates. “Under pressure after Parkland, President Trump taking on his own party and the National Rifle Association today,” hyped White House correspondent Kristen Welker. “Mr. Trump, at a freewheeling...

As the Parkland, Fla., school shooting revealed yet again, when it comes to firearms, the differences between Americans has become too monumental to overcome. On one end of the political spectrum are left-wing politicians and pundits calling for the elimination of the Second Amendment and severe restrictions on virtually every kind of gun. On the other end are Americans who believe the best way to stop mass shootings is to have even more weapons available to the public, and for everyday citizens, including teachers, to be better armed so that they are capable of defending themselves and others from murderers...

...On Wednesday the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee released a majority staff report titled “The Clinton Email Scandal And The FBI’s Investigation Of It.” The committee also released thousands of text messages between two agents and lovebirds Peter Strzok and Lisa Page that shed light on the criminal intent of deep state players to avoid prosecution of Hillary Clinton and to block and destroy a Trump presidency. Now this… Peter Strzok and the FBI knew Hillary Clinton used Bleachbit to delete her emails on March 29, 2016. This was the same week they were deleted. Strzok and the...

A few moments ago Senator Chuck Grassley released an updated version of his memo which substantiates his prior Criminal Referral, against Christopher Steele, to the Department of Justice. Last Friday Chairman Grassley asked FBI Director Chris Wray to remove the prior redactions and declassify the underlying supportive documents; known as the “Grassley Memo”. FBI Director Wray did not remove all redactions; but did remove most. Here is the newest version (pdf link here):

"""As DOJ Prosecutor, Adam Schiff Was Accused of Covering Up Evidence to Help Prosecute FBI Agent in Shady Russian Spy Case""" Adam Schiff has been carrying the water for the Deep State for decades. Let’s travel back to 1990 when Adam Schiff was working as a federal prosecutor for the Justice Department who was hell bent on prosecuting a FBI Agent for “espionage” which by today’s standards would look like a weak shoplifting case. Schiff was chasing FBI Agent Richard Miller for trading a secret FBI manual to the Soviet Union for sex, money and a Burberry trench coat. Yes,...

On the same day the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released the Nunes memo showing the FBI relied on the salacious and unverified Trump dossier to obtain a surveillance warrant on Carter Page, a federal judge ruled to withhold the Comey memos. The memos, authored by former FBI Director James Comey, are about his nine private conversations with President-elect and President Trump.

Senate Should Rename J. Edgar Hoover Building After Champion of Civil Liberties Don Edwards August 1, 2017 by BORDC/DDF The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will be holding a hearing on August 2, 2017 entitled FBI Headquarters Consolidation Project – What Happened and What’s Next. The hearing is set to address the Administration’s determination not to relocate the FBI to a new headquarters, despite the age and inefficiency of its current headquarters. Our concern, however, is not with the physical building itself, but who it is named after–J. Edgar Hoover. As we write in the letter, Hoover, from the...

This is HUGE. Sperry tweeted, “DNC & Hillary Clinton campaign had contractual control over how the product they paid for was used & disseminated. That means Simpson & Steele had to first consult with Clinton campaign lawyers before taking the dossier to the FBI & to the media. Ergo, Hillary coordinated FBI hit”

Mulvaney: Trump Won't 'Weaponize' Potential Shutdown Like Obama Did in 2013 By Debra Heine January 19, 2018 Director of the Office of Management and Budget Mick Mulvaney said Friday morning that if the government shuts down it will look very different from the shutdown of 2013, when former President Obama’s administration did things to "hurt people." Mulvaney added: “There's no other way to describe it. The Obama administration weaponized the shutdown in 2013.” The budget director was referring to what at the time was referred to as "shutdown theater," when the Obama administration unnecessarily closed popular attractions like national parks....

A great many people – especially conservatives – reverence the Constitution, consider that it has been abused and that if only the doctrines expressed within were revived and respected, all would be well with America again. This, of course, is a kind of children’s bedtime story – and approximates reality to about the same degree as the story of the Three Little Pigs. The Constitution was peddled and imposed on us by men like Alexander Hamilton, a grasper after power who very openly loathed the ideas expressed by men like Jefferson in his Declaration (and even more so in his...

Minneapolis To Reduce Police Psych Testing After Screening Out Too Many Minorities Anders Hagstrom Justice Reporter 1:53 PM 12/15/2017 The city of Minneapolis may fire its police psychology evaluator because his tests screened out too many minority candidates, despite already lowering psych evaluations far below the national standard. The July police shooting of Justine Damond triggered the city to scrutinize its psychological standards for police, with many claiming they’d become lax. Psychiatrist Thomas Gratzer has run psych testing for the Minneapolis police for the past five years, and in that time, he has eliminated four of the five tests used...

In a bombshell report by POLITICO‘s Josh Meyer, the Obama administration is accused of protecting Hezbollah drug and human trafficking rings to help ensure a nuclear deal with Iran was achieved. POLITICO reports: Project Cassandra reached higher into the hierarchy of the conspiracy, Obama administration officials threw an increasingly insurmountable series of roadblocks in its way, according to interviews with dozens of participants who in many cases spoke for the first time about events shrouded in secrecy, and a review of government documents and court records. When Project Cassandra leaders sought approval for some significant investigations, prosecutions, arrests and financial...

The Philadelphia City Council voted 14-3 on Thursday to pass a bill allowing the city's Department of Licenses and Inspections to ban shop owners from protecting themselves and their employees with bulletproof plexiglass. Philadelphia 8th District Councilwoman Cindy Bass, who sponsored the bill, said previously that having to see plexiglass represents an "indignity" to her constituents.

On Wednesday, the Republican controlled house voted to further federalize gun laws in this country. While Ryan McMaken has noted the danger in further centralizing gun legislation, there is another deeply troubling aspect to this bill: it expands the ability of the Federal government to restrict Americans’ right to bear arms. During the legislative process, the NRA supported merging the bill aimed at nationalizing concealed carry permits with another piece of legislation aimed at “fixing” the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS.) Obviously this legislation was inspired by the failure of the US Air Force to report the criminal...
