An online auction appears to have been halted for the pistol that former Florida neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman used to kill unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin. ADVERTISEMENT The weapon was removed from the GunBroker.com website Thursday, minutes after the auction was to begin. It was not immediately clear why the website took down the listing. Zimmerman had told Orlando, Florida, TV station WOFL that the pistol was returned to him by the U.S. Justice Department, which took it after he was acquitted in Martin's 2012 shooting death. The auction for the 9 mm Kel-Tec PF-9 pistol was to begin...

Trayvon Martin has often been in the thoughts of playwright and activist Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj in the four years since the 17-year-old unarmed black boy was shot and killed after a confrontation with neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman. He has wondered about Martin's dreams, his life and the moments before he died.

TALLAHASSEE Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi on Monday became the first big-name Republican official in the state to endorse Donald Trump for president. At a rally in her hometown of Tampa, the state’s top legal officer — the woman Trump called “the most popular person in Florida, by far” — praised the Republican front runner as an outsider who will keep Americans safe. In the red corner we have Gawker's Tom Scocca, who argues that regardless of the not-guilty verdict reached by a Florida jury this past weekend, George Zimmerman murdered Trayvon Martin. To believe otherwise, he wrote shortly before the trial ended, more or less makes you a racist: "This is what the real dispute is: do you believe that a 17-year-old black person counts the same as any other human being? The local cops did not, which is why the case turned into a national scandal to begin with. George Zimmerman did not. Trayvon Martin was walking along, heading home from...

On Monday, Rick Scott said he wasn’t ready to endorse in the Florida Presidential Primary election on March 15, but there are those who believe he might be leaning towards Donald Trump. That speculation was sparked last month, when Scott penned an op-ed in USA Today, a column in which he wrote very favorably about the New York City business mogul. I know Donald Trump personally, and while I currently have no plans to endorse a candidate before Florida’s March presidential primary, there is no doubt that Donald is a man who speaks and tweets his mind freely. But I...

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Seminole County judge denied a bond request Thursday afternoon for a man accused of shooting at George Zimmerman. During the hearing, Matthew Apperson's attorney argued his client should be granted bond, because Apperson has high blood pressure and back pain. Apperson was arrested in May for an attempted second-degree murder charge. He's accused of shooting at Zimmerman as the two drove in separate vehicles along Lake Mary Boulevard. In October, Apperson was found guilty in an unrelated public urination case, for which he served 60 days in jail. "He was on bond for a very...

George Zimmerman's Twitter trolling has reached a new low. Days after retweeting an image of Trayvon Martin's corpse, Zimmerman went on a depraved Twitter tirade Monday afternoon, spewing racist rants and boasting about "mocking all you trolls." The man who shot and killed Martin three years ago also gave out an apparent stranger's phone number, referring "all media inquiries" to the unsuspecting man.

Close to four years after George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin in 2012, and over two years after Zimmerman was acquitted in a criminal trial, an attorney for Martin’s family is still cashing in on the case with speaking engagements. Later this week, on Sept. 10, attorney Jasmine Rand will deliver a lecture entitled “I Am Trayvon Martin: Hoodies Up” at the taxpayer-funded University of Georgia, reports The College Fix. Rand will receive $3,500 for her speech, a school spokeswoman indicated. The personal injury lawyer appears to have a standard “Hoodies Up” spiel that involves the “use of the media to...

Nothing like a racially charged killing to bring out the worst in George Zimmerman. The Florida man, cleared of charges in the 2012 slaying of black teen Trayvon Martin, used a pair of homophobic slurs and ripped President Obama after a black gunman killed a Virginia television reporter and her cameraman — both white. He also managed to misspell the first name of the killer, Vester Lee Flanagan, and the word “condemning.” “Pansy Fester lee Flanagan, too much of a daisy to deal w/racism,” tweeted Zimmerman on Wednesday. “Murders 2 whites. Hate crime, 100%. Racist Obama says nothing condeming.” Hours...

A judge on Thursday threw out a lawsuit filed by George Zimmerman's parents accusing comedian Roseanne Barr of invading their privacy and causing emotional distress when she retweeted their address three years ago. A lawyer for Robert and Gladys Zimmerman told the judge the couple has not felt safe moving back to their Lake Mary home since Barr called for "vigilante justice" in her March 2012 tweets.

The event that truly awakened me was the Trayvon Martin case. I kept hearing and seeing his name, and eventually I decided to look him up. I read the Wikipedia article and right away I was unable to understand what the big deal was. It was obvious that Zimmerman was in the right. But more importantly this prompted me to type in the words “black on White crime” into Google, and I have never been the same since that day. The first website I came to was the Council of Conservative Citizens. There were pages upon pages of these brutal black on White murders. I was in disbelief. At this moment I realized that something was very wrong. How could the news be blowing up the Trayvon Martin case while hundreds of these black on White murders got ignored?

CHARLESTON, South Carolina — During an interview Breitbart News conducted with people gathered outside the Mother Emmanuel American Methodist Church in Charleston, where Wednesday’s deadly shooting left nine black churchgoers dead, a woman called for a “race war” and discussed black anger.

I realize we’ve been hitting the South Carolina shooting and the disgusting, racist criminal who allegedly perpetrated the murders rather often since yesterday morning. Unfortunately, nothing as serious and tragic as this can unfold in America today without immediately becoming mired in multiple levels of political muck, generally before the first facts are even verified. In this case, the process continued well into the evening and will surely roll forward in the weeks to come. One aspect of the church shooting, however, seemed to offer at least a slim ray of hope in an otherwise dismal day. A consortium of...

Guy Benson: In “End of Discussion” we have a really fun, very short portion of a chapter that deals with this whole nomenclature on college campuses of “trigger warnings” and “privilege” — there’s a whole list of them. “Microaggressions” is a big one. And towards the end of this chapter on academia we examine the very interesting case of Elizabeth Warren, who is a white woman. That is – the science is in, and she is a white woman. Yet for years, she identified, self-identified wrongly based on family folklore that she was a Native American. And she benefited tremendously...

Barbara Tasch June 10, 2015 New York police commissioner William Bratton said he'd like to hire more non-white officers but most of them have criminal records and therefore, he can't, The Guardian reported. “We have a significant population gap among African American males because so many of them have spent time in jail and, as such, we can’t hire them," Bratton said in an interview with the publication. For this high number, Bratton blamed the "unfortunate consequences" of stop-and-frisk policing carried out on young non-white men over the last few years in New York. A felony conviction, domestic violence charges,...

On the 50th anniversary of Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s famous report on the breakdown of the black family in urban ghettos, Baltimore has descended into the tragic violence and chaos he predicted. In a report titled, “The Negro Family: The Case for Action,” Assistant Secretary of Labor Moynihan, warned that the deterioration of the black family, would result in soaring crime rates if it continued unchecked. In the most famous passage of the 1965 report, Moynihan, who would later become a Democratic U.S. senator, wrote, “From the wild Irish slums of the 19th-century Eastern seaboard, to the riot-torn suburbs of Los...

How interesting. Obama’s DOJ would apparently like America to just be overrun with criminals who think they can do whatever the heck they want, because, hey, Obama told the cops not to bother chasing them, because we have to reduce police shootings? Hell no: The Washington Post decided to investigate and come up with a tally of all the police involved shootings for 2015, apparently to not only answer the burning demands of the public, but to pick apart the data and draw some conclusions. I was expecting a deafening volume of hyperbole out of this report – and there...

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Rev. Al Sharpton took aim at Cleveland's 2016 Republican National Convention in front of a packed house at Cleveland's Olivet Institutional Baptist Church on Friday night, speaking for nearly an hour. "Jeb Bush and Scott Walker and them think they are going to come in here and have four or five days of convention," Sharpton said. "We are going to have another convention outside."
