Sen. Ted Cruz’s piece in Politico Magazine on Wednesday has drawn a lot of attention, not all of it kind. In the piece, the Texas Senator charges that President Obama’s impending executive action on immigration “is lawless” and that if he makes the move, “he will be acting as a monarch.” Since his election in 2012, Cruz has vocally opposed comprehensive immigration reform. A fellow Republican in the Texas congressional delegation said that Cruz’s energetic opposition to comprehensive immigration reform doesn’t adequately represent his constituents. “I don’t think it’s reflective of Texas as a whole,” said Rep. Gene Green, chuckling....

During last week’s House Homeland Security Committee hearing on “The Radicalization of Muslim-Americans,” Congressman Al Green (D-TX) took issue [1] with the hearing’s focus on Islam and Muslims, asking the witnesses testifying before the Committee: “If you agree that radicalization exists within all religions to some extent, would you kindly extend a hand into the air.” Noting triumphantly that “all the hands are raised,” Green then asked: “Why not have a hearing on the radicalization of Christians?”The immediate answer is obvious. On the one hand we have recent jihad plotters in the U.S., including Naser Abdo, the would-be second Fort...

When questioned about how our leadership is not being forced to take the public plan...Democratic Congressman says he'd take a vote on it, BUT, went on to say..... "My fear is that I want to safeguard employer-based insurance and I don't want to PUNISH federal employees, or city of Maytown employees, or state employees, just because...if you work for government you get employer-based insurance...... I don't want to PUNISH you if you work for Shell, or Linedale or anybody else, so I want employer based insurance to be continued as best we can....." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGZIWGG4LjU

My apologies if this was posted before. This will make your blood boil. Anyone see this story in the mainstream media? The no good, never gave a damn thing to America, all they've ever done is take from this country trouble makers start their racist behavior at about the 2:00 mark. It's comical to a point. From the Youtube description: (Video) "A member of the group La Raza argues with and attacks one of the attendees of Gene Green's Townhall meeting on Tuesday, August 18. He became violent and Houston Police took him to jail. The LaRaza members continued to...

A Texas congressman, worried about disruptions at his town halls, wants to weed out people who want to attend but don't live in his district. Rep. Gene Green (D-Texas) has announced on his website that he will require attendees to show photo identification to get into his town halls to prove that they're his constituents. He said that he's doing so in response to a "coordinated effort to disrupt our town hall meetings." "While I regret this restriction, it is necessary for the safety and consideration of our constituents," Green said in a statement on his website. "Those who do...

Tuning in to President Obama's health care town hall today, you couldn't help but notice how much tamer the line of questioning was compared to what Obama's fellow Democrats have been up against. By and large, instead of the persistent tough queries that greeted the likes of Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) and Arlen Specter (D-Penn.), the president fielded much easier questions. The toughest questioner tried to tag him on his earlier comments approving of a government-run "single-payer" system but unfortunately couldn't get the point of distinction between it and the much more amorphous "universal" health care system, thus allowing Obama to...

WASHINGTON — The Texas Department of Transportation, long viewed as hyperpartisan and arrogant by some members of the state's congressional delegation, has been trying to soften its image by reaching out to lawmakers of both parties in the nation's capital. But while state transportation officials are having some success in easing the personal animus, they still face a stiff challenge in selling their policy agenda to the state's elected officials in Washington. Many Texans on the Potomac cringe at the agency's embrace of toll roads, the controversies surrounding the Trans-Texas Corridor and TxDOT's resistance to many of the highway earmarks...

This morning on the 950KPRC Pat Grey Show, Pat Grey and Ken Charles contacted Gene Green and asked him retract and apologize for what he said in that letter he sent. The reason was that he admitted that he took out of context what was said from both Michael Savage and Rush Limbaugh. He had not listen to all the show and he was only going by an AP report he had. He also admitted to saying that if Rush and Michel would have been talking about Bush, that is what Pat Grey was referring to on the 2 examples...

Redistricting doesn't stop Democrats Thursday, January 22, 2004 The re-redistricting bomb that U.S. Majority Leader Tom DeLay dropped on white Texas Democrats in Congress was huge. However, all but two have filed for re-election anyway. Wouldn't it be ironic if several won? Ralph Hall of Rockwall switched to the Republicans, whom he'd been with for years in all but the initial after his name, anyway. And Jim Turner of Crockett decided not to run again. With $1 million in his campaign bank, he says he might run for governor or the U.S. Senate in 2006. But the main Democrats targeted...

Democrats donate $230,000 to party, fund Associated Press DALLAS (AP) - Since the redistricting fight erupted last spring, 13 of the 17 Texas Democrats in Congress have donated more than $230,000 to the state Democratic party and a political fund dedicated to re-electing state lawmakers. Quarterly financial reports filed by the congressional Democrats last week show they donated $141,000 from their campaign funds to the state Democratic Party, The Dallas Morning News reported in Wednesday's editions. The contributions ranged from $5,000 from Reps. Nick Lampson of Beaumont and Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston to $50,000 from Rep. Martin Frost of...
