If you thought 2020 could not get any weirder, you were wrong.  This week, two of the most radical, Trump-hating media outlets in America acted out of character, so much so that I glanced outside my window, expecting to see pigs flying by.  On Monday, the New York Times published an optimistic article saying the Wuhan virus is coming to an end.  It even praised one of the Trump administration's initiatives.  And then, if that wasn't crazy enough, on Tuesday, the CNN talking heads went out of their way to praise Amy Coney Barrett.  Sometimes, weird is good. Let's start with the New York Times piece, "A Dose...

VIDEO Joe Biden told the 56% of American who, according to the Gallup Poll, said they are better off now than four years ago not to vote for him. We also see another hilarious example of his memory loss.

A new analysis of Gallup data out last week shows a stark partisan contrast in how the public perceives the coronavirus threat to their personal health. According to data from the Gallup Panel conducting research on public opinion throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Republicans were far less terrified of the novel Chinese virus than Democrats.

CNN Politics Reporter Chris Cillizza threw cold water on a newly released Gallup Poll that showed a clear majority (56%) of U.S. registered voters feel better off under President Donald Trump than they did under President Barack Obama. CNN doesn’t want people to think they are better off than four years ago. In an analysis piece headlined, “That Gallup poll doesn't say what Donald Trump thinks it does,” Cillizza didn’t even argue with the results of the Gallup Poll. In fact, to Trump’s tweet of the Gallup results, which he exclaimed were “Highest number on record," Cillizza conceded: “Which, on...

Earlier I reported on some polls that were indicating good news for President Donald Trump.Among the polls covered was the Zogby poll showing that he has a 51% approval rating. That’s an important metric to hit, as Gallup has observed that historically, “all incumbents with an approval rating of 50% or higher have won reelection, and presidents with approval ratings much lower than 50% have lost.” Zogby Analytics: Trump Approval at 51% (poll released on Oct 9; 833 likely voters; conducted 9/25-27) pic.twitter.com/cvTLFBlvH3— PollWatch (@PollWatch2020) October 9, 2020 Now there’s another important metric, this time from Gallup itself. During his...

Back in 2016, I played Paul Revere, except my announcement was "The Trump victory is coming! the Trump victory is coming!" I made over 1,500 TV and radio appearances to deliver the message that the polls were all wrong. I told Donald Trump supporters again and again to ignore the "fake news" and the fake polls. Tens of thousands of Trump voters emailed me to thank me for giving them hope when all seemed lost. Hundreds of conservative radio and TV hosts thanked me for keeping up the spirits of the "Trump Army" when Trump voters were at their darkest...

It turns out the ABC, CBS and NBC evening news shows won’t show you polls that show the majority of the American voters feeling better off now under President Donald Trump’s economy than under former President Barack Obama’s economy. But they do love parading around questionable polls showing Trump losing the election by double digits.

A solid majority of 56 percent of Americans say they are better off now than they were four years ago, a new Gallup survey reveals. Only 32 percent say they are worse off than four years ago. The number is, as Fox News’s Laura Ingraham noted on Thursday night, “the highest Gallup has ever recorded.” President Trump responded to the survey in a tweet: The Gallup Poll has just come out with the incredible finding that 56% of you say that you are better off today, during a pandemic, than you were four years ago (OBiden). Highest number on record!...

Everyone remembers the wildly inaccurate predictions of a Hillary Clinton landslide right up through the morning of Election Day 2016. The New York Times confidently predicted Clinton with an 85 percent chance of winning. Reuters gave Clinton a 90 percent chance, and ABC News gave her a 95 percent chance of being elected president. (You can see more of those inaccurate polls here.) I suspect the polls were biased, in part, and their methodology was obsolete. Also, there may have been some trickery at work with Trump voters deliberately deceiving pollsters. SNIP One Gallup polling question may be shedding light...

His approval rating today: 46 percent. Barack Obama’s approval rating eight years ago today: 47 percent. Trump’s not licked yet. There are two differences between them, though. One is that Trump’s disapproval rating stands at 52 percent. Obama’s was 46 percent. Flipping someone who’s undecided into your column is a lot easier than flipping someone who disapproves of you, which is the task facing Trump with that crucial three or four percent that he still needs. The other difference is that O’s job approval soon rose above 50 and he ended up spending nearly all of that month at or...

A Gallup poll released on Wednesday shows that 81 percent of black Americans want the police presence to remain the same or increase in their neighborhood or area. According to the poll, “67 percent of all U.S. adults” also prefer the “status quo” when it comes to local police presence. “Most Black Americans want the police to spend at least as much time in their area as they currently do, indicating that they value the need for the service that police provide,” the poll concludes. Eighty-three percent of Hispanic Americans and 88 percent of white Americans share similar attitudes. In...

Germany is the most admired country in the world for the third year running, leaving the US in a tight battle for distant second place with China and Russia, according to a new global leadership poll. The annual poll, conducted by Gallup, casts more doubt on US secretary of state Mike Pompeo’s claim on Friday that the US was “perfectly positioned” to lead the free world in a new ideological rivalry with the Chinese Communist Party. The US had a 33% global approval rating for 2019, just one percentage point ahead of China and 3% ahead of Russia. Germany outshines...

PRINCETON, N.J. — Donald Trump's favorable rating among Republicans dropped from 69% to 64% in the fallout after The Washington Post released a 2005 video in which he made lewd comments about women, and after the second presidential debate on Sunday night. Trump's unfavorable rating ticked up slightly from 30% to 33%. There was virtually no change in Trump's already poor image among independents or Democrats. A Gallup poll published Monday found that only 20 percent of adults between the ages of 18 and 29 are "extremely proud to be an American." This is the lowest percentage of any demographic, falling 23 percent since 2017. According to the poll, this is the sixth consecutive year of decline in American pride across all demographics, and the first time "extreme pride" among whites fell below 50 percent. American pride among nonwhites is 24 percent. The partisan gap in American pride also fell to 43 percent from 54 percent a year ago. This year, 67 percent of Republicans—a 9...

Despite a wave of critical news coverage and Democratic catcalls, President Trump sits at his “highest” approval in the latest Gallup survey, and above where four of the last six presidents, including Barack Obama and George W. Bush, were at this point of the first term. After two weeks of bad news on the coronavirus and economic front, Trump maintained his 49% approval rating, and his disapproval crept up just 1 point, to 48% in the Gallup survey of adults, a broad test.Gallup said that Trump’s approval is “tied for the best of his presidency.” From the Gallup Presidential Job...

GALLUP – Around 3 p.m. Monday, the mayor of Gallup received a call from a bank manager saying an armored truck delivering money to the branch was stopped at the checkpoint outside of town and couldn’t get in. Another call had come in that morning from a woman who wanted to check on her 80-year-old father and was hysterical at being told she couldn’t cross the city limits. Since the Governor’s Office ordered a lockdown of Gallup on Friday, Mayor Louis Bonaguidi said his office phone has been ringing off the hook with questions from residents and logistics as they...

SANTA FE – An emergency declaration requested by the mayor of Gallup and authorized by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham will be extended through noon, Thursday, May 7, per the mayor’s request. The action is intended to continue the aggressive physical distancing in the community and thus mitigate transmission of COVID-19. In response to an emergency request from Gallup Mayor Louis Bonaguidi, the governor at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 1, invoked the state’s Riot Control Act, authorizing her to enact further temporary restrictions to mitigate the uninhibited spread of COVID-19 in that city. An emergency declaration made under the act...
