Police say actor Wendell Pierce has been arrested at an Atlanta hotel where he was a guest. Atlanta Police Department spokesman Donald Hannah says in a statement that Pierce was arrested early Saturday morning at the Loews Atlanta Hotel. New Orleans native Pierce is known for his television roles as Detective William "Bunk" Moreland on The Wire and Antoine Batiste on Treme. A man is asking for $10 million after spending 529 days in jail for a crime he says he didn't commit. Darrick McDuffie was accused of shooting a man in 2012 in DeKalb County, but he says he didn't do it and the victim backs up the story. Georgia’s Republican governor vetoed a bill Tuesday allowing concealed handguns on college campuses, rejecting the proposal that a legislature controlled by his own party had easily approved in an election year. The bill would have allowed anyone 21 and over to carry a concealed handgun with the proper permit on a public college or university campus.
