• 'It's go to time': Biden miffs 'go time' line during hyped Warren fundraiser

Joe Biden failed to deliver a key line of his stump speech during a much-hyped fundraiser with former primary rival Sen. Elizabeth Warren. "Folks, as my coach used to say, 'It's go to time.' It's go time. Now," the presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee told grassroots donors on Friday, correcting his error. Just 94 days before Election Day, the two-term vice president and 36-year U.S. senator, started the virtual event by thanking roughly 40,000 participants for helping him raise $1.5 million before July's fundraising deadline. Biden called on his supporters to get out the vote by Nov. 3, so together,...
  • Looking for Video where Politician Fumbled with Gun Lock

A few years ago, a politician was attempting to make the case for a mandatory gun storage law. On stage, he tried to show how easy it was to unlock a gun from being locked, with the device of his choice. It was a live broadcast. He fumbled and fumbled. I am sure that video is out there, but I cannot find it. Does anyone else remember this video, and any other details about it? It seems to have been consigned to the memory hole. Maybe it was before YouTube?

Sometime in the winter of 2010, my dad sat my younger brother and me down for a talk. He was getting older, he said. His side of our family was becoming increasingly distant due to age and sickness and death and divorce, and because there were no women in our family—my mom died when my brother and I were kids, none of my grandparents are alive anymore, and my dad’s two brothers are both divorced with sons—he told us that as we got older there would be no one to wrangle the family together, no one to plan events and...

We are not going to get anyone else on board. The United Kingdom has said no. We cannot have Israel do it with us, not directly. The new Canadian PM doesn't have the backing to join a US alliance against Iran. Japan has Korea to worry about. Let's face it, it's June 1940 and we are the Great Britian. The question is, how much more of this nonsense are we going to take?? 1) Iran is fueling much of the sectarian violence in Iraq. 2) They are supporting counterfitting of US money. 3) They are supporting Hisbollah. 4) They are...

GOP governors worried about Bush stumbles Republicans fear port security, other missteps will hurt in an election year Pablo Martinez Monsivais / AP President Bush, center, speaks with members of the National Governors Association in the White House on Monday. Republican governors worry that administration fumbles will hurt the party in an election year. Feb. 27, 2006 WASHINGTON - Republican governors are openly worrying that the Bush administration’s latest stumbles — from the natural disaster of Hurricane Katrina to those of its own making on prescription drugs and ports security — are taking an election-year toll on the party back...

Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove no longer appears to fill the role as chief political strategist in the White House, a role he has filled from the start of the first Bush term. Mr. Rove's clear leadership hand went missing some time ago, the leaders say, when speculation grew that he might face indictment in the CIA leak investigation led by special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald. The eruption of conservative disapproval over the choice of Miss Miers surprised the president and others in the White House but not Mr. Rove, the leaders say. They say he has shown, in most instances, a keen sensitivity to the complex concerns of various interests on the political right that, until the Miers nomination, had been pretty much in lock step with Mr. Bush, even when they privately disagreed with him.

A staunch Republican, zotted unjustly in the prime of life.
Hi Freepers. I don't usually post on the internet, but I just wanted to let you know I am also a solid Bush backer. One thing troubles me, though. I am upset that Bush would resort to the smears he is backing against Kerry's service record. This isn't right and I don't think this is the way we want to win. Come on Freepers, I know you'll stand with me in encouraging the President to once and for all, denounce these smears. Let's do the right thing.

You'd think that the Democratic Candidate for President of the United States would be more sensitive of other religions. Multiculturalism is the mantra of the Democratic Party, and they are never more moral than when they are castigating Americans for their lack of cultural and religious sensitivity. So it was quite a shock when John Kerry, visiting the Holy City of Green Bay, did rename and thus blaspheme the Holiest of Temples of the Frozen Tundra... Now, I myself am not an adherent to the religion of Cheeseheadism, but I have great respect for the followers of the aforementioned religion,...
