Fox News host Greta Van Susteren announced this evening that she will be boycotting the 68th annual Radio and Television Congressional Correspondents' Dinner over the selection of a comic to headline the dinner who has repeatedly attacked Sarah Palin using vile sexual terms.Another pig….and a media association has hired the pig, Louis C.K., to be their headliner for the big media dinner? Really? I am not going. I refuse to go. Everyone in the media should join me in this boycott. The headliner of this year’s Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner is “comedian” Louis C.K. Comedian? I don’t think so....

September 2, 2011 There's a lot of good sense behind closing two famous and nearby military hospitals and merging them into the new Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. But just looking at the name reveals both what's good about this merger and what makes it so tricky. Walter Reed was a famous Army doctor, and for more than a century his name was on the Army's iconic hospital in Washington, D.C. Now that hospital is shutting its doors, and Reed's name will go onto the new hospital built on the Navy's flagship medical campus in Bethesda, Md., 6 miles...

Last Thursday was 7-11, as I recall, which should have been a lucky day. I now believe it was luckier than most for me.Everything seemed "normal" when I awoke around 6:30 AM. I got up, put on my robe, and padded to the kitchen to get the water boiling for my usual cup of tea. Then, I let my Springer Spaniel, Mandy, out to do her doggy thing, and opened up the doors to my home office. I booted up my Mac, and returned to the kitchen to pour the water over the tea bag. Returning to my office with...

Well, some of you may know that I am on vacation. I am in Northern Michigan camping with friends and family. They put me on a FReeperless diet and it is KILLING ME. The fish weren't biting so they (foolishly!) sent me into "town" for some provisions and the clerk here had an internet connection. I paid him a couple of bucks and here I am! Hahaha! I'll hide some food in the next day or so. Maybe they'll send me back here! Logging off! Bye

Friday, September 03, 2004 AP Bias strikes again The AP is really showing their bias again, except this time, they have been caught in the act. Sharp eyed posters over at Free Republic spotted this story about the president's reaction to news of Bill Clinton's upcoming surgery: WEST ALLIS, Wis. - President Bush (news - web sites) on Friday wished Bill Clinton (news - web sites) "best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery.""He's is in our thoughts and prayers," Bush said at a campaign rally.Bush's audience of thousands in West Allis, Wis., booed. Bush did nothing to stop them.Bush...
  • LA SLIMES' NOTABLE OSCAR QUOTABLES -- NICOLE KIDMAN ON ONE SIDE... AND FR'S "RONDOG" ON THE OTHER!

    LEFT ANGELES SLIMES
So I finally start going through, page by page, the Oscar coverage in today's Slimes (that's right... still reading  it so that you don't have to). And then I almost had a heart attack.   The "E"/"Calendar Part 1" Section is dedicated to Oscar coverage, E1 starting it all off with a big pic of Best Actor winner Adrien Brody smooching presenter Halle Berry and the beginning of the story.   Following it in to E2 and E3, there are a bunch of huge picture of various winners from the night, the top of each page prefaced with a huge...
