Attorney General Jeff Sessions is exploring the possibility of using DNA tests to verify the parentage of illegal alien adults who attempt to cross the southern border with children, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said in a statement Tuesday after interviewing Sessions on his radio show Washington Watch. “Sessions is talking to congressional members and is hoping for a legislative fix. The AG wants an immigration policy that is just, fair and enforceable. They talked about making sure that these really are the parents of these kids,” Perkins said. He continued, “They are looking at how to use DNA...

Senate Democrats indicated Tuesday they may not agree to narrow legislation that would end the separation of children from parents who cross into the country illegally at the southern border. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., refused to say if he and other Democrats would support a bill that Republicans are working on, and when pressed, said several times that President Trump should act on his own to stop these family separations from happening. "Let's hope we never get to that. Let's hope the president does the right thing and solves the problem, which he can do," Schumer said. "That's...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - North Korea could start the process of handing over the remains of troops, including Americans, missing from the Korean War within the next few days, two U.S. officials told Reuters on Tuesday. The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said North Korea would hand over the remains to United Nations Command in South Korea, and they would then be transferred to Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii. One official said “a sizable number” of remains were expected to be handed over, but declined to give a specific number given the unpredictability of North Korean leader Kim Jong...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley will announce on Tuesday that the United Sates is pulling out of the United Nations Human Rights Council, a Trump administration source told Reuters. The United States is half-way through a three-year term on the main U.N. rights body and had long threatened to quit if it was not reformed, accusing the 47-member Geneva-based body of being anti-Israel. Reuters reported last week that activists and diplomats said talks with the United States on reforms had failed to meet Washington’s demands, suggesting that...

House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy scorched James Comey in a blistering opening statement at a high-profile congressional hearing on Tuesday, declaring “we can’t survive with a justice system we don’t trust.” Gowdy kicked off the hearing featuring testimony from Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz on his review of the Hillary Clinton email case. The top DOJ watchdog is on Capitol Hill for the second day in a row to discuss the explosive report. But Gowdy launched into Tuesday's session -- a joint hearing held by the House oversight and judiciary panels -- with a fiery condemnation of the...

A photo of a little boy crying in a cage is being shared on social media as seemingly another heart-rending byproduct of the White House’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy, which separates undocumented parents and kids at the border. There’s only one problem: The picture is being completely taken out of context — and does not show what it is purported to show.

In recent days, we have seen reporters, Members of Congress, and other groups mislead the public on the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) zero-tolerance policy. Federal law enforcement officers have sworn duties to enforce the laws that Congress passes. Repeating intentionally untrue and unsubstantiated statements about DHS agents, officers, and procedures is irresponsible and deeply disrespectful to the men and women who risk their lives every day to secure our border and enforce our laws. Myth DHS has a policy to separate families at the border. Fact DHS does not have a blanket policy of separating families at the border....

President Donald Trump's approval rating has hit 45 percent, tied with his highest rating to date, according to Gallup Last week Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for a historic summit in Singapore, while his administration has begun a strict crackdown on illegal immigration into the U.S., including separating children from their parents if found illegally crossing the border. Despite the controversy over his policies, Trump's approval rating has steadily increased since the end of May. 45 percent of Americans approve of Trump. 50 percent of Americans disapprove. Trump previously reached 45 percent approval in the week...

Former FBI director James Comey is under investigation for mishandling classified information, DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz revealed Monday. He is specifically under investigation for his handling of memos he wrote about interactions with President Trump while FBI director. “Comey said he did not expect a report on his handling of classified information because, ‘That’s frivolous.’ I don’t happen to think that it is frivolous,” Sen. Chuck Grassley said during a Senate hearing Monday. “Question number one, Mr. Horowitz, are you investigating the handling of his memo and does that include the classification issues, and should Mr. Comey expect a...

The Southern Poverty Law Center has reached a settlement with liberal Islamic reformer Maajid Nawaz and his organization, the Quilliam Foundation, for wrongly including them on its now-defunct list of “anti-Muslim extremists.” The SPLC announced Monday that it has agreed to pay Nawaz and Quilliam $3.375 million “to fund their work to fight anti-Muslim bigotry and extremism.” The settlement was the result of a lawsuit Nawaz filed in April over his inclusion on the SPLC’s “Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists.”......."

North Korean delegates at cross-border military talks in the truce village of Panmunjom last Thursday offered to move their long-range artillery pieces from the military demarcation line to rear areas, a source said Sunday. The Defense Ministry denied it, but the source said, "The North Korean delegates brought it up first as a matter of principle." This would go a long way toward reducing military tensions. It is not known why the North made the offer or what it expects in return. The North has deployed about 1,000 artillery guns near the MDL. Some 330 are trained on the Seoul...

President Trump challenged Democrats to “come to the table” to fix the country’s immigration system, saying Monday that the current battle is over whether the U.S. should have borders. Speaking at the White House Mr. Trump said the U.S. “will not be a migrant camp.” He said if Congress can find agreement on a way to update what he called the “worst immigration laws in the entire world” it could be a trendsetting move for the rest of the globe. “Just remember — a country without borders is not a country at all. We need borders, we need security, we...

Washington (AFP) - Donald Trump's personal lawyer on Sunday called for an investigation into special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, claiming it was tainted from the outset under former FBI director James Comey. "We want the Mueller probe to be investigated the way the Trump administration has been investigated," Rudy Giuliani said on CNN's "State of the Union." "This is a case where it's crying out for someone to investigate the investigators," he later told CBS. Giuliani's comments were the latest in a barrage of attacks on the probe by the president and his lawyers as Mueller appears to be...

George P. Bush, son of Trump's former presidential candidate rival Jeb Bush, has voiced his support for the current president yet again in a rousing speech at the Texas Republican convention earlier today. As noted by Todd Gillman of the Dallas News, George P. rallied the Texas GOP by declaring. "Are we gonna stand up for President Donald J. Trump. Are we going to reject the fake news and the liberal media? … Yes we are." Bush is a formidable politician in the Lone Star state. He currently holds the position of Texas Land Commissioner. But, he has fallen under...
