The Associated Press edited the words of a Muslim man who allegedly killed three white people in downtown Fresno Tuesday afternoon and shouted “Allahu Akbar!” The suspect, 39-year-old Kori Ali Muhammad holds fervent anti-Trump beliefs according to his social media profile, and he told police afterward that he hates white people. Rather than reporting the gunman’s literal words, however, the AP reported the gunman as saying “God is great.”

Reports coming out of Fresno say shooter Cori Muhammid acted alone in Islamic-terrorist attack carried out today. The suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar” when taken to the ground by police. The victims of the shooting appear to be “random” in that they are not directly linked, but this is quite obviously an act of Islamic terror. A gunman with an affinity for the Dallas police shooter moved randomly from person-to-person, murdering three people, in downtown Fresno, California, while shouting Allahu Akbar, police said in a news conference. The shooter was captured and has been named by police as Kori Muhammad (Kori Ali Muhammad), the suspect in the earlier slaying of a Motel 6 security guard.

Death row inmate Fernando Eros Caro died at San Quentin State Prison on Saturday, prison officials said. Caro, 67, was sentenced to death in Santa Clara County Superior Court. He was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Lt. Sam Robinson said. The cause of death is pending an autopsy. Caro was sentenced to death for the murders of Jack Lucchesi, Mark Hatcher and Mary Helen Booher and the attempted murder of Rick Donner on Aug. 20, 1980, Robinson said.
