This is the left's idea of free speech. On Sunday, about 20 Occupy Wall Street protesters disrupted a speech given by former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum as he spoke on the steps of the Oklahoma state Capitol. Showing the liberal idea of tolerance, the protesters began to disrupt the event as soon as Santorum began to speak. Acting like fascists, they yelled "racist" and "fascist" and chanted "Get your hate out of our state." Supporters responded by shouting back "We pick Rick!" while holding signs in front of the demonstrators who escalated the situation by ripping the signs out of...

Several gay rights protesters stormed the Washington, D.C. hotel hosting the Family Research Council’s annual Values Voter Summit on Saturday, shouting, “Your values are killing us!” Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum had just concluded his speech in the ballroom when roughly six protesters unraveled a large rainbow-colored American flag outside in the lobby and began chanting. Almost immediately several security guards grabbed the protesters to drag them outside. One protester in particular resisted, causing him and some of the security guards to fall to the floor.
  • Akin regains lead in Missouri latest polling shows

WASHINGTON, DC, August 29, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A poll of likely Missouri general election voters released this morning shows that, far from being out of the race, embattled Senate candidate Todd Akin has regained his lead over Senator Claire McCaskill by a 45% to 42% margin, with 13% undecided. The survey conducted by Wenzel Strategies commissioned by Family Research Council Action also shows Akin leading by 10 points among independent voters. “Despite the firestorm of news in the Senate race over the past few weeks, most voters have already made up their mind in the race, the survey shows,” said...
  • Family Research Council poll of Missouri: Akin 45, McCaskill 42

The Family Research Council poll was conducted by Wenzel Strategies from Aug. 27 to Aug. 28, testing 829 voters for a margin of error of plus or minus 3.38 percent. The sample was 32.7 percent Democrats, 34.1 percent Republicans and 33.2 percent independents. I don’t remotely believe that Akin is winning right now, but I also don’t believe that McCaskill’s double-digit margin will survive September. Hence Reince Priebus’s conundrum. Roy Blunt also said this morning that he still thinks Akin will quit, but I’m not sure he himself quite believes it. Supposedly people are leaning on Huckabee too to get...

A new poll paid for by the Family Research Council, a pro-life group, indicates pro-life Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin now leads pro-abortion Sen. Clair McCaskill in the race despite the controversial comments he made about abortion and rape. The pro-life group says the poll is evidence that Akin should not drop out of the race and that calls for him to do so were premature. The new survey conducted by Wenzel Strategies of likely Missouri general election voters shows that Senate candidate Todd Akin has regained his lead over Senator Claire McCaskill by a 45% to 42% margin, with...
  • How Are Christian Values Faring in GOP Platform?

The Republican National Convention may not be officially opening until Monday, but the hard work of finalizing the GOP platform – often referred to as its mission statement – is now under way in Tampa, Fla. Christians are paying particular attention to this year's committee meetings given the fact that the Democrats have voted to include same-sex marriage in their platform for the first time in history. "Overall it's been smooth sailing for Christians and social conservatives," J.P. Duffy, V.P. of Communications at the Family Research Council, told The Christian Post on Tuesday. Duffy, along with Tony Perkins, who heads...

“I don’t think, generally, Christians are being persecuted in this country.” So said Barack Obama, during his first run for the White House. The president won’t be able to make that claim this time around. Not after the release this week of the “Survey on Religious Hostility in America,” jointly produced by Liberty Institute and the Family Research Council (the recent target of such religious hostility). Liberty and FRC declare, “Hostility to religious liberty has reached an all-time high, and the attacks are increasing at an unprecedented rate.” Their well-researched survey documents more than 600 cases of bigotry against people...

Washington D.C., Aug 22, 2012 / 06:03 pm (CNA).- Platform drafters for the Republican Party have approved language asserting a firm commitment to the defense of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. “The institution of marriage is the foundation of civil society,” the draft document states. “Its success as an institution will determine our success as a nation.” The document says that both experience and studies indicate that marriage has physical, emotional, academic and economic benefits for children. It reaffirms the party's support for marriage as the union of one man and one woman, while also...

God willing, the last few weeks could go down as a turning point in the struggle against the intolerant, aggressive — and often very hateful — Homosexual Lobby in America. First, as many of you know because you participated in it, Americans rallied by the hundreds of thousands behind Chick-fil-A in what I’m calling the first national repudiation of pro-”gay” political correctness in a long time. Then, those of us whose news was not filtered by the liberal media [see this report by Media Research Center] learned of the anti-Christian (politically motivated) “hate crime” at the Family Research Council —...

Since the SPLC is clearly overlooking many grouos which, based on their own standards, should be on a hate group list, let's help them out. Here are some, for starters: Bill Maher The government of Iran NAMBLA: SPLC cited a FRC member who said homosexuality, currently legal, should be criminalized - NAMBLA advocates for sex with minors, currently illegal (as it naturally should be), to be legalized. So SPCL, should we be doing less to protect minors than homosexuals? Please feel free to add your own to the list, and/or provide examples of why they belong here. Then let's get...

The “ filthy, degenerate, gutter Christians” at the Family Research Council inspired last week’s shooting by “going too far” with their pro-family activism, according to a nationally syndicated liberal talk show host. “You filthy, filthy right-wing b——-ds, you’re going too far!” Mike Malloy told his audience last week. “One of these days somebody’s going to go berserk and walk into one of your filthy holes of religious insanity with a gun.” Switching to a mocking tone, Malloy said, “Oh. I think that happened today.” Malloy went on to say the council would “happily sacrifice” a 10-year-old child who was raped...

The FRC shooting is the latest chapter in the blood-drenched history of the left — from the French Revolution to Occupy Wall Street. This is the way the left does business — with guillotines, gulags and gas chambers, with bombs, bullets, purges, planned famines and demonizing opponents as a prelude to their slaughter. In 2009, James Pouillon was shot to death while holding a pro-life sign by a supporter of choice. The same year, black Tea Party activist Kenneth Glandney was beaten so badly by SEIU thugs that he had to be hospitalized. In 2010, heavily armed eco-terrorist James J....

There’s nothing to write about this week as no one shot anyone for any politically motivated reason at the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the Family Research Council, a group that is obviously hateful for promoting traditional views of marriage and so couldn’t be the victim of a hate crime in the first place because they’re so hateful any hate would logically have to be coming from them and not from the person who shot them. According to the Media Research Center, CBS News did not even bother to report the non-shooting at FRC that did not leave the building manager...

To borrow from President Obama’s Black Nationalist mentor, Jeremiah Wright, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s hate-baiting chickens “have come home to roost.” The hard-left group has become everything it presumes to expose. On Wednesday, homosexual activist Floyd Corkins entered the Washington-based Family Research Council (FRC) armed with a gun and a backpack full of ammunition. He also had 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches (FRC recently defended the food chain’s COO Dan Cathy for pro-natural marriage statements). The only thing standing between Corkins and mass murder was FRC facilities manager and security specialist Leo Johnson. As Corkins shouted disapproval for FRC’s “politics,” he...

Within hours of the shooting of the security guard at the Family Research Council last Wednesday, more than 20 gay organizations issued a joint statement that they “utterly reject and condemn such violence.” This is highly commendable. Unfortunately, they did not utterly reject, condemn, or even acknowledge their potential role in helping to create the toxic environment that may have contributed to the shooting. Consider how shrill gay activist rhetoric has become. In June, after Southern Baptists reaffirmed marriage as the union of one man and one woman (for conservative Christians who base their faith on the Bible, a no...

About 40 young people waved signs and voiced loud support for Second Amendment rights in the front of D.C. city hall on Friday, an unusual sight in a heavily Democratic city that is known for its strict gun-control laws. For about two hours, they captured the attention of passing motorists and tourists with their argument that increased gun ownership equals increased public safety. Their rally comes two days after an unarmed building manager was shot in the arm at the Family Research Council, a conservative organization in the District’s busy downtown. Mayor Vincent C. Gray has pledged to preserve the...

There are those who argue that Liberal ideology promotes creativity and produces citizens with “happier” demeanors. With no legit proof ever proffered up by them to support the theory, I counter that argument with proof that the worst possible ideology is one which refuses to teach its followers to take NO for an answer… With the shooting and homicidal intentions Wednesday at the Family Research Council headquarters in Washington, DC … we saw the fruition of the seething, unrestrained hatred on the Left and their complete and total intolerance of ANYONE who dares to hold a differing opinion than their...

CNSNews.com) – The man who shot a security guard at the Family Research Council (FRC) on Wednesday was “given a license” to do so because of groups such as the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) that have labeled the FRC a “hate group,” said FRC President Tony Perkins. The SPLC has posted what it calls a "Hate Map" on its website that points to the FRC as a "hate" group located in Washington, D.C.. Before a gunman shot a security guard at the FRC, the Southern Poverty Law Center had posted the FRC on its "hate map." The map and...
