I am not vaccinated. In a sane society, a personal decision like this would not warrant a column, or even an explanation. But we do not live in a sane society. As a healthy 36-year-old woman, COVID-19 does not pose a statistically meaningful threat to my life. I have a 99.97 percent chance of survival... when there is an element of risk from the vaccines ... Biden White House recently broke its previous promise and issued federal mandates ... what exactly is the point of mandating vaccines that have .. failed to stop the spread? ... the vaccinated are also...

BOSTON — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is getting ready to switch the exit signs along part of Route 128 to a mileage-based system. Work on the signs along Route 3 is expected to be finished on Tuesday and installations along Route 128 from Gloucester to Peabody will begin Wednesday. The swapping of signs along that part of Route 128 is expected to last about eight days, MassDOT officials said. The exit numbers are being changed by MassDOT to comply with federal highway mandates, which require mile-based exit signs. Massachusetts is one of three states that have not yet begun...

The Texas Republican Convention began under a “Unite to Win” banner but ended with many delegates still standoffish toward Donald Trump and mourning Ted Cruz’s exit from the Republican presidential race. A rundown of one of the biggest state Republican conventions in the U.S. that wrapped up Saturday: 1. CRUZ STAYS SILENT ON TRUMP Cruz didn’t mention Trump and barely alluded to November in his first public event back home since suspending his campaign. He continues to withhold endorsing his former rival even as Gov. Greg Abbott and most other state officials urged delegates to get behind the billionaire businessman....

....What is clear is that the practice stirs passionate responses on both sides of the immigration debate. Geoffrey Hoffman.... describes it as "patient dumping" or "private deportation" and calls it "despicable." Noting deportation is the "exclusive province" of the federal government, not hospitals, he says forcing patients to "accept" repatriation back to a country where there may be no hope of follow-up care can "only reflect badly on our great nation." By contrast, Mark Krikorian....argues that there are "real-world limits" to the level of health care U.S. institutions should provide non-citizens. He says that it's one thing to provide the...
