State Rep. Carl Wimmer has been in such demand on the speaking circuit over the past month that he has begun charging up to $4,500 for engagements outside of the state. The Herriman Republican said he has had to start charging for speaking engagements, a move that appears to be a first for Utah lawmakers and one the House speaker questioned as possibly trying to “leverage” his elected position.
