It is with a very, very heavy heart that I inform everyone that Farmer Dean has passed. He fought cancer and then septic infections and pneumonia valiantly for 3 years before succumbing. He loved his farm and his wife Becky and his horses and his incredible gun collection very much. I had the honor of talking to him many, many times and several days before his death. Please take a moment to remember him. He deserves it.

From the latest private message from dp0622... Farmer Dean was supposed to be released from the hospital to go home. Instead he has been put in hospice care, unable to answer the phone or even care for himself. Unfortunately this is most likely the end of the line for Dean. He has suffered mightily over the last three years, spending most of that time in the hospital. Please address replies and prayers to dp0622 as he is very close to Dean and will be in contact with Dean's wife asap.

Dean’s in the hospital. He’s not on antibiotics anymore and his septic infection is just to broad and strong. Received in an email: +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Farmer Dean’s gonna die. He’s not on antibiotics anymore for the septic infections. None were working. He’s on oxycodone, morphine and the Fent patch for pain and he’ll be in a hospice soon. Salvation can you please put up a final prayer request for him. He will likely read it but he knows I’m asking this and he would love to read the posts. I know it makes him feel better.

He’s hopping to be home early April, He needs time to get stronger before they can do the surgery on the area in the colon that was leaking. It’s healed but they don’t trust it to stay healed long term. So he’ll rest maybe 3 or 4 months at home and then get it done. Barring any new leaks, he is well on his way to full recovery. I DID speak to him some days ago AFTER the prayer request thread and he’s going to be in the hospital for at least another month but he’s Definitely holding his own. Sepsis is the issue and he will be on antibiotics for at least another month. The hole in his colon has healed but will require surgery when he is strong enough as they think it will leak again with time...

This just in from dp0622... Farmer Dean is recovering in a hospital in Ohio. His temperature is back to normal from 106 degrees!! That’s Not a misprint. He only lost 10 pounds throughout the whole ordeal and the hole that was leaking in his colon has closed but he will STILL need surgery to completely rectify the problem. God is Great and this guy’s a walking miracle. 4 or 5 septic infections, 3 bouts of pneumonia, in a coma several times, abscesses and other issues over the past 3 years and he keeps on trucking. FarmerDean, who has no physical right to be alive according to natural law, will be going home under GOD’S law in a few weeks. After over a YEAR fighting for his life from a botched cancer surgery of his intestines and MANY MANY nights where I thought he was going to God, the farmer/man/beast is going home and will once again one day heap 50 pound bails on a truck for hours at 66!! I just got a hernia thinking about it!!! :) God doesn’t always give us what we ask for and we can’t and aren’t supposed to understand...

Please pray for FReeper Farmer Dean's wife Beckie. She was diagnosed last week with pneumonia in both lungs. Thankfully she is starting to improve, but she is still ill and needs our prayers.
