The left claims that their most urgent battle is to save democracy, but when it comes to any questioning of the LGBT lobby, they are the ones who sound like authoritarians. The overtones are unmistakable in the "news" coverage promoting "dozens" of employees walking out of Netflix in Los Angeles on Oct. 20 in protest. The target? A popular Dave Chappelle comedy special, "The Closer." Tens of thousands of anti-abortion advocates can assemble and be ignored, but assemble two dozen transgender lobbyists and NBC and PBS will treat it as momentous. Take NBC's story. Anchor Lester Holt began: "A battle...

FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) — Building relationships with the LGBTQ community and enrolling local businesses to act as shelters where bias crime victims can seek immediate help are parts of a new program rolled out Wednesday by a New Jersey prosecutor’s office. Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey introduced the program to assign liaisons to members of the gay, lesbian and other communities to chip away at decades of distrust between them and law enforcement. She enlisted the help of three Jersey Shore cities to conduct the pilot program called “Safe Place,” modeled after a similar initiative in Seattle. The program...

"Broadcasters must 'resolutely put an end to sissy men and other abnormal esthetics,' the TV regulator said, using an insulting slang term for effeminate men — 'niang pao', or literally, 'girlie guns'. "That reflects official concern that Chinese pop stars, influenced by the sleek, girlish look of some South Korean and Japanese singers and actors, are failing to encourage China’s young men to be masculine enough."

Source: Courtesy of Myra Adams"This decision might as well be written on the dissolving paper sold in magic shops." So wrote Justice Samuel Alito in the concurring opinion he filed last week in a case that pitted the City of Philadelphia against Catholic Social Services (CSS). The court voted 9-0 in favor of CSS. But the arguments presented were far from unanimous. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote a weak opinion based on a technicality -- and was joined by Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett. Justice Alito wrote a forceful counterargument based on...

It’s all but impossible to miss. LGBTQ pride is being pushed on us from every angle and on an endless array of websites. The Rotten Tomatoes movie review site is celebrating the “200 Best LGBTQ+ Movies of All Time.” (Yes, the best 200. I can remember when the first gay kiss on TV caused a massive uproar.) Amazon points to a constant stream of gay-themed programming along with gay-themed publications. As an Amazon website announced, “Amazon enters June bursting ‘with Pride.’” Indeed, we are told, “Pride Month is all about celebrating love and equality, and today, glamazon, Amazon’s LGBTQIA+ affinity...

This week, our extended family added to the discontent, frustration, and irritation of the Left’s long march to destroy Western civilization. How? Our married daughter and stay-at-home mom gave birth to a beautiful little girl and our second grandchild. We all celebrated this joyous occasion and precious gift of life. As parents, we are extremely grateful for their marriage, her devoted husband, a healthy baby, their Christian faith, and that this baby girl was born in America, the land of freedom, opportunity, and equality. But how does the progressive Left, their ideology, and policies view our joyous occasion? In the...

Photos and videos of large crowds gathering on New York’s Fire Island over the July 4 weekend are drawing the ire of hundreds on social media. Officers from the Suffolk County Police Department were called to the beach in Fire Island Pines twice on Saturday regarding reports of a large number of people failing to social distance or wear face coverings as they partied in the sand. Numerous videos have since been shared across Twitter and Instagram documenting the troubling scenes at the popular vacation spot, showing cohorts of dwellers stood closely together without masks on.

A vaccine for the novel coronavirus is likely at least a year away, but the state’s large anti-vaccine community is ready to resist it.On Friday, just after Governor Greg Abbott declared a statewide emergency in response to the coronavirus, Sarah posted a worried plea on a local anti-vaccine Facebook group. She worried that the declaration gives the government the right to “force vaccinations” on unwilling Texans. “If they fast-track some vaccine for coronavirus, how are all of us going to defend ourselves?” she asked. “I’ll let them vaccinate my daughter over my dead body.” Other members of the group, Tarrant...

New York City resident Sabri Ben-Achour, 39, began to feel ill on March 12 and experienced roughly 36 hours of intense symptoms: fever, aches, fatigue, cough and headache. But by March 14, Ben-Achour felt back to normal, except for one thing: Both his sense of smell and taste were gone. "I couldn't smell anything," he said. "I could literally not smell s---." He ordered from an Indian restaurant: "I asked them to make it extra salty and extra spicy, and it tasted like water." By March 16, he was fairly certain he had contracted and recuperated from COVID-19, the disease...

UPDATE: An earlier version of this article misgendered Sam Smith as 'him'. It should have read 'them'. The error has been corrected. At the iHeart 'Living Room Concert for America' held on Sunday, March 30, Elton John hosted an hour-long special to raise funds for all the heroes and pillars of society working on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic: aka the health care workers and first responders. The event saw performances by Billie Eilish, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, the Backstreet Boys, Tim McGraw, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, H.E.R., Sam Smith and more. However, what caught social media's...

It is called a manicure after all! Mark Ribeiro II, a founding fitness instructor at Fithouse and former “American Ninja Warrior” contestant, has received a ton of compliments lately — on his nail art. “A girl at the juice shop today said, ‘Oh, your nails are cute,’” Ribeiro, 34, tells The Post. “The women at work tell me my nail art is better than theirs.” While iconic rock stars such as David Bowie and Mick Jagger started embracing color nail polish decades ago, a new generation of A-listers are bringing high-fashion nail looks to the mainstream: Singer Bad Bunny gets...

The first day of President Trump’s impeachment hearings were bound to be eventful, but no one expected drag queen Pissi Myles to show up on Capitol Hill. Myles is an award-winning New Jersey drag performer, comedy producer and winner of Philly Drag Wars, according to her website. She regularly performs in the NYC area, but on Wednesday she took over Washington in a red dress, matching high heels and a huge blond wig. "It’s a crazy day in Washington! I’m flipping my wig over the high-energy proceedings today," Myles told NBC News. "Tensions are high, and the bar for who’s...

Many of us choose to turn off the read receipts on our mobile phones to give us a better excuse for not immediately replying to messages. After all, there's nothing worse than seeing that familiar blue double-tick on WhatsApp, or the iMessage timestamp pop up to indicate the person has received and read our text and actively chosen not to respond. This is especially true when it comes to dating - but for one man from New York, being ghosted on this occasion would probably have been the preferable option. Eric Dimitratos, 33, who works in digital marketing, shared a...

"My religion defines who I am. And I've been a practicing Catholic my whole life," said Vice President Joe Biden in 2012. "I accept my church's position on abortion as ... doctrine. Life begins at conception. ... I just refuse to impose that on others." For four decades, Biden backed the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits the use of the tax dollars of Joe's fellow Catholics to pay for what they view as the killing of the innocent unborn. Last week, Joe flipped. He now backs the repeal of the Hyde Amendment. Ilyse Hogue of NARAL Pro-Choice America welcomed home the...

Some local officials are calling for Bronx City Councilman Ruben Diaz Senior to resign over seemingly homophobic comments. On the Spanish-speaking radio show "The Relief," Diaz said the City Council is "controlled by the homosexual community." Although he did not specify who he was referring to, the current City Council speaker is Corey Johnson, who is openly gay and HIV-positive. Mayor de Blasio took to Twitter, demanding that Diaz apologize. Now, a group of councilmembers is calling for further action. The City Council LGBT Caucus and Women's Caucus issued a joint statement saying, in part, "We demand he resign from...

NEW YORK (AP) — Whether Royal, Charlie or Salem, Skyler, Justice or Oakley, unisex names for babies are on the rise among parents more willing than ever to embrace the possibility of gender fluidity in their children and attempt to head off sexism on their behalf. “We’re definitely seeing more conversation today around the distinction of a truly gender-neutral name,” said Linda Murray, global editor-in-chief of BabyCenter.com. “This generation is truly interested in gender neutral names.” The Social Security Administration puts out a top 10 list of popular baby names every year based on its registrations, but it also keeps...
