The explosion took place over a Halal grocery in a portion of the city dominated by Arab immigrants: Ismail Adan, 34, has lived in the building since 2002 and left shortly before the fire. He said his mother had called him early in the morning and he left to visit her, but a cousin who was staying with him was in the third-floor apartment when the explosion occurred. He said the cousin leapt from the window and was injured but he has spoken with him in the hospital. “He’s OK. It’s not very serious,” Adan said.

I had just gotten out of the shower, and was getting dressed for work, when I heard a loud explosion. I looked out the window and saw a large plume of smoke. I went out with my digital camera and recorded the video I posted on my YouTube channel. A 62-year-old Texas mother died Saturday night after her three-story home exploded, rattling the entire neighborhood and surrounding cities. Wanda Buckley Davis' body was found amid the rubble of her property in Grandview, outside Fort Worth following the blast, which occurred just before 11 p.m., Sheriff Bob Alford said.

A suspected female suicide bomber has set off explosives on a bus in the southern Russian city of Volgograd, killing at least six people. Officials believe the woman was from Dagestan in the North Caucasus and was the partner of an Islamist militant. COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus Division of Fire is investigating a report of an explosion at Columbus Police headquarters in Downtown Columbus. A loud noise was heard inside the building in the 100 block of Marconi Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police asked people inside the building to evacuate by the stairs. Police and fire crews were going building by building checking for the source. Columbus fire officials said there were no reports of injuries. Columbus police dispatchers said the noise was heard on the second floor where a deli is located. Dispatchers said it did not start a fire.
